To many times these movie people are talked into changing the true essence of these character's apparel, and it ends up being some -- corny fashion statement! I really would have minded it, but details like the absence of the yellow symbol on the back of the cape, and changing of the belt buckle were crucial. I say; if the comic book hasn't changed it, than the movie should change it...

Superman is like a solar battery he absorbs sunlight constantly even at night. but as i said he's like a SOLAR BATTERY which means he's also constantly charged so he could go into a different galaxy and still have powers for an AMOUNT of time. and to prove this just take a look at when he uses his powers INDOORS, there's not neccesarily any sunlight coming through which means he must already be fully charged up

I love the clouds and sun scene I even dreamed I was Superman flying in the clouds re-charging myself up to fight my adversary Lex Luthor. That scene was EPIC!!!! and so was Christopher Reeve's scene when he flies out of Earth and towards the sun like you see in this video to the right of my post. Oceans will freeze, plant life will die, animals will die, millions or even billions of humans unable to cope with the temperature will die. The global weather patterns will change and you'll get freak weather patterns like extreme storms ect. The sunlight never stops shining on the earth at night time remember that :P

Actor, Tristan Lake Leabu would have been a much, better fit as Chris Kent and not Jason White. He was born, from Clark Kent and Lois Lane when Clark gave up his Superman powers to be with Lois Lane intimately and sexually. The idea of Superman's offspring being brought into Superman Returns early ruined the chance for a sequel. Spiderman never had a son but, a daughter.

Goyer, Matt Reeves and Darren Aronofsky the two directors are rumored to be behind the new Superman film project. Look, this movie was good, Brandon did a good job in his role. But with the endless resources at the disposal of this film, I was expecting awesomeness. But the script was a little weak, the story was slow (though this is an introductory movie, so I guess that's okay) I actually didn't enjoy Bosworth as Lois, she was the weakest performance in that film, AND worst of all, Superman's son! Bad idea, that's pandora's box for Superman, it's actually worse than introducing Robbin to Batman.

@meliketalaugh i know what u mean it wasnt a bad movie it was class the flying scenes are exellent, my only bad comment on the movie is the lex luthor being the bad guy has been done to death they coulda had brainiac or doomsday or maybe some thing that he coulda had a fight with and went all out with his powers.

mines the one where he is just floating in space, with his arms out a bit, he looks legendary in that scene. but i like this one too. Everyones on about Superman going like Batman begins. i dont think that will work, how can you make, superman gritty? they will spoil it if they try to start anew. they should build on this story, he has a son now, theres a lot that can be done with that.

I agree. Studios think gritty just works better. But it only works for specific characters (Punisher, Batman, Hulk...). I think Smallville nails Superman perfectly. A regular guy with extraordinary, god-like abilities who is oblivious to greed and sense of power. Just my $.02.

Those are my two faverite scenes in the movie.The one where he is floating over earth listening to earths cry is amazing for me.

I do hope Brendon Routh returns to wear the red cape another time for i feel he did a damn good job.But,now that Superman is back,i hope there isn't a lot of fart arsing around and there will be a more gripping story.None gritty ofc :D

Yeah, you probably only one who like me, likes Brandon Routh as "Superman." Sadly, Routh's contract expired, so Its not going to happen. I heard Tom Welling is up to play the "Man of Steel." And they are going to make It more serious, even change the suit now. S-Returns was a homage to the late Chris Reeves RIP, which was why It was done in the same style. Now I do think they shud make It more "gripping," but I feel they will change It too much.

In my humble opinion, this is the best shot scene in the whole movie.

There is much more than meets the eye at a first glance, accoupled with the music, it becomes poetic as well as philosophical.

Because the entire tale of Superman is a re-telling old Jewish Saga where The Father sends the Sun to be the shepperd and savior of His people, as well as the Lamb to self-sacrifice. It is about the One who not only has Power, but knows his predicted destiny - doesn´t discover, nor is to become. Going up to the Sun is the meet with the Father. Once done it symbolizes the consummation of destiny, the redemption of heirs of the land, and the absolute triumph over the greater enemy.

its not like a charge up mode, he was stabbed with kryptonite, and there was a heavy overcast, he was just trying to get to the sunlight.

but he instantly got 100% power back. This is like the silver age superman where you shine some sunlight on him and bam he's back. The modern superman requires charge up time just to regain some power.

yea but superman can absorb too much sun and loose control of his powers. not lose his powers but loose control from the power he gains. almost like getting drunk you feel invincible. in this state he is pretty dangerous to almost anyone.
