Pennhurst: A Modern Ruin

I have recently been researching Pennhurst after watching it on Ghost Adventures (great show!) and it is absolutley sad to see what happened to the people who lived there. Then I found out that they are turning it into a haunted house. It's sort of like making fun of the people that lived there. They suffered in life and they shouldn't suffer in death. Maybe we should leave them alone.

this place got even more destroyed to to people trespassing and drawing all over things the reason for no background noise is because it is not on a main road its its in a very quiet area they have now turned it in to a Halloween attraction

It opened in the early 1900's I believe that it actually closed in 1986/87 ... Living near the area, I remember the stories of the 'school' closing down.

I didn't hear any music or background noise with this video and if that was the case, it makes it all the more haunting. I got creeped out just watching it.

This place isn't that old. It closed in 1968 so most of the kids and teens that were there may very well be alive. They must be in their 40-50's.

Last night's Ghost Adventures was at Pennhurst....the stories of what happened to the patients there reduced me to tears...what a terrible place....I hope those who were there can some day rest in peace....xx

Chilling stuff... There's a lot of paranormal activity in that place. There was also a lot of sexual abuse on the kids.
