My dog was half bull terrier. This SO reminds me of her! She would have happily run up and down the stairs all day, especially if there was a tennis ball involved!
She passed away last month at 17. She was an amazing dog.
how come people dont realize that a dog that chases it's tail is never a good thing.. :/ it's a sign of a bored dog that isnt getting enough exercise and other stimulation. its not healthy. it might seem funny but it really isnt..
im sorry, i dont mean to be, you know, mean about this but its just a fact. dogs do the spin so they get the frustration out of themselves...
@Ennniii what a total load of bullshit.....that dog is healthy and happy, all dogs do a spin when they get excited.....do us all a favour and go watch a video on how not to talk bullshit
yeah well i guess that my entire life experience on dogs has been false :) we have had all kinds of dogs in our family during my 20 years: huskys, miniature pinschers, staffys, lapphunds and not one of the has ever been spinning like this and i can tell you, they have been in a coma... the most energetic dogs, all of them and i've only seen the pinschers spin once or twice but when we noticed that, we gave them more stuff to do. now, they never spin.
@Ennniii What the hell are you talking about?..your making yourself look very stupid on here..and yes your 20 so called years of dog experience has clearly been wasted.Go and get a real dog first before you comment on here and go watch some more bullshitting vids too
@levi13333333333 well tell me, how many years of doggy experience do you have. and ps. my mom is a vet. so yeah.. i'd say that id know a liittle bit more than you ;)
@levi13333333333 oh, and if you're interested in knowing whether this really is unhealthy read this: medicinenet(dot)com/pets/dog-health/compulsive_behavior_in_dogs.htm
@Ennniii Did you know that when a Husky walks forward its a sign that he is going mad and needs better training? you should always train them to walk backwards and only walk them between the hours of 3am and 5am else they turn into poodles....you know i do not mean to be mean about this but its a fact !!!!
@levi13333333333 it's bullshit that we've had eleven huskies? :D we've had our own kennel and as i live in finland and at the countryside we have competed in husky races. no bullshit ;)
@Ennniii.....as you would say....i do not mean to be mean but .....Huskies are banned in Finland, when they started walking backwards they were no use to the eskimos that live there so they replaced them with miniature pinschers...you seriously need educating on how to bring up a dog
@Ennniii Yes in fact chasing their tail is bad and an obsessive behavior but here you see it's not that. I own a bull terrier (the breed shown in the video) and knows quite a lot about the breed: this is what they do. In the video shown here it's not even about chasing his own tail, it's called hucklebutt.. bull terrier just do that. Even if you exercise them for hours.. they will do that. Tho they are a breed suceptible to have obessive compulsive behaviors. just not this dog.
@shaaaaana mine wont chase his tail but he does spins like crazy lol usually ending up with him bumping against the house door and inmediatly hidding in his house lol
My Bully is 7 and he still does something like this. In his case, it's certainly not due to lack of exercise - it's what he does when he's excited and happy about something. For instance, in the evening, when the kids are all in bed, if I sit down and have a cuddle just with him, he'll get up and run round like a loony puppy because he's happy!
This is not because of a laser. Most bull terriers have this behaviour. Ours did, and a lot of the clips on youtube also show this. Maybe if he/she gets some more exercise? :) Best dog breed in the world (imo)!
Flirt pole, spring pole, lure coursing are all great forms of cheap exercise for dogs, a brisk walk won't cut if for the reserves of energy a BT has. While it's cute it's not healthy for the dog to obsess over the lazer, or spin in circles as it can be a neurological disorder.
No i think its because i run him up and down the stairs with a laser sometimes in a certain pattern and now he just does it for fun when hes feeling energetic.
He usually chases a laser up and down the stairs for around 30 mins at a time but here he is just releasing some excess energy. This was after an hours fast paced walk.
this is funny. i guess they are all like that cuz my bully runs all through my house just like that it makes me laugh so hard. there great dogs with so much personality.
Heeheee! Mad as a fish! I could never have one of these dogs. I would probably die laughing! :¬D
