After time you can see true progression, from removing certain foods etc... Society endorses a 'magic pill' response but this isn't practical or sustainable. It takes concentration, dedication and being true to yourself to fully reach your try potential.

I travel for business; sleep is an issue. I take my "stuff" with me, and now have the same habits at home...
I use ear plugs, to quiet the room (at home dog snores), eye pads for darkness (hotels are bright and un-natural), and aroma therapy for natural smells (lavender for sleep...peppermint to wake up). Also, a shut down process that tells the body it is time to hibernate! Works like a charm...used to sleep horribly! Also...skip the alcohol...and light evening meals!
@klaanderson3 i find that earplugs do help calm my brain...but i dont like the feeling of a sleep mask on my face...feel like i'm being smuthered! lol! aroma therapy is very nice indeed! light evening meals sound like a plan for me now!! thank you much!

@JumpRopeQueen I don't know if you would benefit from an app called 'The Insomnia Cure' by Max Kirsten. He's a clinical hypnotherapist and his program is very rewarding. It's compatible on iPhones however im not sure if its supported on other devices.
This app has helped me immensely, as a recovering insomniac having only 3 hours sleep a night. However this is my experience and I don't want to assume it will have the same response for you. But it's definitely worth a look. God loves a trier.

Oh, and I find that having a cacophony of roosters from 4:30am onwards has changed my sleeping habits and I now go to bed before 10pm...and I was a serious urban nightowl for decades. Roosters in my village have rather loud conversations all night long from blocks away...seriously...and the one behind me chats with his friend across the street every night at 11:40pm...the rooster-crowing-at-dawn bit is pure fantasy...those things are honking it out all night...but at 4am it picks up even more.

This is what i do to go to sleep...At 9 PM, take hot bath while reading a spiritual book, processing in those good thoughts. Then I pray the Lord's Prayer & other bible prayers, then open the bible to the first passage and read about a chapter about it. A lot of times, I'm so relaxed and sleepy, my head hits the pillow. Hope this helps someone. Hey, I do love the nuts, healthy food! I try to eat my last meal around 5 PM. So meditate & eat healthy, that's my thing. Hope this helps.

This is what i do to go to sleep...At 9 PM, take hot bath while reading a spiritual book, processing in those good thoughts. Then I pray the Lord's Prayer & other bible prayers, then open the bible to the first passage and read about a chapter about it. A lot of times, I'm so relaxed and sleepy, my head hits the pillow. Hope this helps someone. Hey, I do love the nuts, healthy food! I try to eat my last meal around 5 PM. So meditate & eat healthy, that's my thing. Hope this helps.
