Happy days took place in the 50 when it first aired but it was on for 10 years and joanie and chachi grow up on the show so of course the spin off would be more up tp date
@dharmaseed Tv magic.....which means everything had to be recorded in a studio lot. There is no way the audience would have heard that heavy early 80s orchestration.
Let's say we have to thank Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, Elvis Costello, and The Police for getting us out of that dreary looking late 70s fashion that was still prominent from 1980-1982 or else we would have been in bigger trouble. Hahahahaha. I am pretty sure without these artists....we would have been stuck with those dark and dreary late 70s fashion clothing still.
@mst3k4evr , having lived thru the 80's (my teen years). it was the 80's the entire decade. best decade of all with music , movies , TV shows and cartoons. great memories.

That's definitely Erin Moran's voice. She did sing here as well as a couple of episodes on Happy Days. Shame she never had a singing contract, but Baio had two albums for RCA. Just plain sad for Erin and I am pretty sure she was upset at that.

Don't forget, most sitcom writers do change hands quite a bit, so must of the characters would have to change from time to time. Chachi from smart-alleck punk kid to Chachi in love with Joanie, in dreams of high hopes for achieving greater.
Aftermash had two seasons. Chachi was an interesting character when he was a smart alec kid. As he grew older, he turned into a milk toast nothing. Then to try to make a series starring two milk toast nothings - good grief!

Well, lucky for the Thriller jacket that MJ started or else we would have been stuck in that late 70s-early 80s mode still around the 1982-early 1983 time period. Sad, but true.
For more than 25 years I've tried desperately to suppress this unfortunate memory. And now in a moment of weakness I had to click on to watch it ALL OVER AGAIN... its amusing how neither of them tried to look like the early 60's era. To me they just screamed 1980.
Idiot, that was not the Jews who killed Jesus; it was the pagan Romans. Jesus WAS a Jew himself and part of why he was killed was because he was Jewish.
I am sure Catholic Chachi and Joanie understand this.
The ironic thing is that this spin-off is a huge hit in Korea and Chachi in Korean means penis. So till this day, Koreans still tune to this show, even if lasted only a year at most. Knowing as to where Kim Jong-il hides his nukes either in his backyard or elsewhere, I totally believe this has to be his favorite show. Wouldn't you think with all those nukes Kim has now that Freud would have had a field day? Think of Freud analyzing Kim's obsession with nukes in comparison to Joanie Loves Chachi.

That's okay. It's one of those shows you have a foggy memory and you loved it, but you had no idea why in the first place. It happens to the best of us.

All of a sudden, the cast members didn't have greased back hair or crew cuts anymore. they just came to work with their seventies and eighties shag hairdos. And since when did girls have a perm in the early sixties? I think the Fonz was wearing bell bottoms on one episode.. Hmmmm...
Wasn't most of the cast members natives of California and New York? Scott Baio's from Brooklyn. Erin's from California. So it would make sense because most of them are not from Milwaukee at all. True, they were some mid-western actors there, but most of them are either from California or New York.
That happened on "Wings," both Tim Daly and Steven Weber had distinct New York accents (though Daly's was slightly less noticable, Weber's was very obvious), and they were supposed to be Nantucket natives. And then there was Crystal Bernard...I think she was written as a southern gal after getting the part - I don't think she could have covered up that accent if she tried to.
because ur reading this u will get a KISS on the 31st Oct. (Halloween) by a person who thinks ur cute, fine or and tomorrow will be the best day of ur life brake this chain and u will have relationship problems for the next 10 years, send this to 12 people in 12 minutes
I still want Scott after all these years! I swear, I was his biggest fan and probably still am. Posters were all over my room of him! Who remembers Who's Watching The Kids, before he was on Happy Days? He was my "1st Love"!
Seems like there is still some respect for the flops of tv sequels, yes they had chemistry, yes it fixzzled, yes so did the show BUT people, like me, watched it and that pretty much all that counts in show biz !
The actress name is Erin Moran who played Joanie . . . and as far as chemistry with Willie Aames, well "Charles in Charge" was a good show and Willie and Scott had been friends for years so they did alright if almost 100 people all over the states caught the show ! It was what it was . . .
I've always wondered why they don't air these on Nick at Nite or WGN like they do Happy Days. I've love to see the shows again... I was 13 and thought Chachi was dreamy and wanted Joannie's haircut - tried the perm and everything. I laughed outloud at the comment above about the word "chachi" meaning "d**k" in Korean... that's classic!
shame these guys broke up before this series ended scott said it was hard trying to be lovey dovey with someone you no longer were attached to in real life .

Thats true....I never even thought of that, even though I did notice it.
phillygrl69 3 years ago

Geez, they weren't even trying to pretend they were in the early Sixties anymore were they?

I still want Scott after all these years! I swear, I was his biggest fan and probably still am. Posters were all over my room of him! Who remembers Who's Watching The Kids, before he was on Happy Days? He was my "1st Love"!

Not even Erin Moran's perky boobs or Scott Baio's big cock could save this horrible show

Seems like there is still some respect for the flops of tv sequels, yes they had chemistry, yes it fixzzled, yes so did the show BUT people, like me, watched it and that pretty much all that counts in show biz !

WAH WAH WAH......LOL...
LILLEXYBOO 3 years ago
Do you thin he had better chemistry with Josie Maran, or Willie Aames? Discuss.
flandersucks 3 years ago
The actress name is Erin Moran who played Joanie . . . and as far as chemistry with Willie Aames, well "Charles in Charge" was a good show and Willie and Scott had been friends for years so they did alright if almost 100 people all over the states caught the show ! It was what it was . . .
Enlightenedpsych2 3 years ago
I, um, I uh, wow. I...I don't have the words. There it is. It can never leave us now. I think I might be blind.
flandersucks 3 years ago
Even though they broke before the series ended, they did a damn good job faking it. I think around this Scott was dating Heather Locklear.
83survivor 3 years ago
I've always wondered why they don't air these on Nick at Nite or WGN like they do Happy Days. I've love to see the shows again... I was 13 and thought Chachi was dreamy and wanted Joannie's haircut - tried the perm and everything. I laughed outloud at the comment above about the word "chachi" meaning "d**k" in Korean... that's classic!
kellijanesmith 3 years ago
shame these guys broke up before this series ended scott said it was hard trying to be lovey dovey with someone you no longer were attached to in real life .

Great song, bad series.
Chachi is hot though, I've always had a crush on him

Me too. I love both Chachi/Charlie and Joanie and it was always neat seeing those two together. I bet they had three kids and stayed happily married.
I also imagine that Joanie is a teacher today and Charlie is an interior designer.
