I really pity the poor person(s) who had to be in the same row with shrieking baby. That kinda thing really gets on my nerves. I went through it having a daughter of my own but, those days are far behind me.
Stupid American Airlines... We have to wake up at 3 in the morning, to dfw, flight at 6 am, 8 am we land in d.c, stay 1 hour, take flight 1 hour, arrive at 12:30 at jfk, wait 5 hours, 8 hour flight to Zurich!!! thats almost 24 hours no sleep!
i sythemithize with that baby! i remeber mine doing that in the late 60's with pan am 727s in berlin.....ouch........during final decent.....my paretnd hated my screams too.....chuckles....
beautiful boeing 757 the sound and looks are pure 757 ive benn flying them since 1982 when they came out continental, northwest, united delta, song.usairways america west, american etc....
D.C., we are maby gonna do it like; EFHK to TPA (for a weekend or so) then chillin' a few weeks and head off to D.C. where we would be flyin to L.A. and back to EFHK
try lufthansa ( you would have to take 2 planes ) and go tu munich - they use airbuses from munich most of the time. if you dont want to use lufthansa, try finnair - if it flyes there.
They looked fully deployed to me. I do believe that the 757 can make a flaps 20 landing under normal conditions, which might have been what that was. As for not fully deploying flaps, Potomac Tracon often has flights maintain fast speeds until right on the approach in IAD, this may have been the case here.
Surely looked like full down to me. But I did have a "without delay" landing once ahead of a DC-10. Thought I was going to get sucked right back into its P&Ws!
great video, i don't appreciate the baby in the background screaming and crying, jeez i hate those type of flights. sorry if it is your child screaming, but, i just hate those flights...
Good video, real crystal clear sound and picture. I love it when they drop thr gear and flaps at the last minute, love that rumbling sound as the plane gets dirty. I fly as a passenger in and out of Dulles all the time and have made that same approach most of the time. It seeems like they seldom make a straight in approach when I come in, it is usually the circle around approach.
Boy, it seemed to me like he used every inch of the runway there!

"Thank you for flying Shrieking Baby Airlines". I like how the kid immediately shut up when they turned the thrust reversers on.

that was one of the smoothest landings ive ever seen in a 757. he overshot his point by about half a mile though lol
nyyankees10389 2 years ago
Well, he's got 11,000 feet+ to work with, so he can be excused! Dulles is a great airport for pilots; not quite so great for passengers!

well, its kinda tricky, cuz we are leaving from EFHK (Helsinki, Finland) so, if you know anything it would be nice.

wow that landing is kinda weird cuz he didnt use the flaps at low altitudes and didnt fully deploy them
