It's a fan made game created in response to choices that Nintendo has made that the creator does not exactly agree with. I guess you could consider it a "re-imagining."
Based on the fact that this 'mod' has been displayed on IGN and G4TV, is often in the top ten mods of ModDB, and has the most active forum on TWC, I'd place my bets that the general concensus thinks Hyrule: Total War has more to offer. If you like Third Age: Total War more that's your opinion.
@UndyingNephalim Plenty of mods have been displayed on on gaming sites, Zombie Panic Source has been displayed on so many its hard to keep track, it's also won the 'Mod of the Year' award multiple times, that still doesn't make it anything more than a mod though.
This is an amazing idea for a Zelda game but this itself just looks....wrong? Zeldas face looks wrong alot of things look wrong lol. N64 graphics maybe? lol. Make an actual HD cinematic like this and omfg that would give everyone a nerdgasm.
RTS games generally have lower poly models because of the resources needed to render thousands upon thousands of fully animated soldiers on screen at once. These models are all made in the style of Twilight Princess though so I'd think they are Gamecube level graphics, not N64. Maybe that's just me sugar coating my quality of work though.

It would never be a first party Nintendo Zelda title, but throughout the games all these wars are always mentioned that must take place outside the scope of the game, so it's cool to see a hypothetical of what they would be like
@packets1 The way its looks just doesn't seem right. Who would announce the in-game actions? There are no actual voices in the games. Also, if they based one off the Great War it shouldn't be an RTS. Zelda is an adventure game and that shouldn't change.
Nintendo didn't make this game so its not official. Changing Zelda on such a great scale isn't what I and many others want. Don't say the majority likes this idea just because of positive comments. Think about Zelda players in general.

A zelda game that takes place during a great war is a great story for a game. Give it a great art style on wii u, have enhanced 1:1 sword play, improve the upgrading mechanics from ss, allow way more sidequests and give a humongous world bigger than even tp's overworld and this is a winning game nintendo should really try it.

The intro phrases are too much. The fade in and fade out of all those sentences for almost 2 minutes gets boring and unexciting. The history is fine but you could make it faster, incorporate some text to the images and change the sound, otherwise it's just tired to watch it. The dramatic effect you get using the fade-in-out text over black is just to be used in 6-7 phrases at most. Remember the first rule of design: KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid ;D Great idea and images, now make them truly shine
I have been trying to find a good balance for the Darknut Legion but they are just TOO SLOW! One thing that I highly recommend is to get rid of the knock back effect on them. They have no cavalry or ranged units so making them immune to knock back would seriously help them but certainly wouldn't make them overpowered. I had two units of Deities killed by three gerudo dune archer units because they could not move forward due to the knock back effect.
Oh ya also if you need any help with the audio you could tell me what you are looking for as far as sound and I can try and replicate it to the best of my ability.
I'm currently in the process of reading up on all the pages in the thread on TW Center. This looks so incredibly awesome - I might be even pick up MTW2 just for this alone. :D

@koopatroopa397 Actually Twilight Princess showed us that Gorons don't need to breathe even when they are under water. They just can't get out because they sink like rocks.
I would love it if they did but I honestly can't see them doing such a thing. They seem really focused on little kids and the "casual" market right now. I don't think a Zelda game that lets you violently slaughter thousands of soldiers in realistic warfare would go over well with their marketing plan. Here's to hoping though.

From a directing standpoint, this was a great trailer by itself. This really set the mood. I really felt that Zelda herself was the stuff of legend and that's something that I never really felt before.
--I hope NINTENDO see this trailer and make a NEW LEGEND darker and realistic as the Twilight, and Mayoras version. That mix all the latest zelda that has a continuity.
you should add a garo facton since you have and ikana faction and since they were at war it would make sense and since not much is known about their nation you there is alot of room for creativity

im to lazy to create a tw accunt just for 1 post, so: can you improve the big units heavily? the Ghoma giants, stallfos etc. they can be killed by every unit, even the 50rupee ones, becouse they are just to weak.
I'd recommend keeping them away from archers, as those are usually what kills them. Without any archers you'll find nothing short of mass spearman can kill large units.

From a directing standpoint, this was a great trailer by itself. This really set the mood. I really felt that Zelda herself was the stuff of legend and that's something that I never really felt before.

you should add a garo facton since you have and ikana faction and since they were at war it would make sense and since not much is known about their nation you there is alot of room for creativity

im to lazy to create a tw accunt just for 1 post, so: can you improve the big units heavily? the Ghoma giants, stallfos etc. they can be killed by every unit, even the 50rupee ones, becouse they are just to weak.

I'd recommend keeping them away from archers, as those are usually what kills them. Without any archers you'll find nothing short of mass spearman can kill large units.
