  • no voice on this video... is this just me?

  • Too bad the bill the Democrats are passing is just a bailout for health insurance companies.

If we want real reform, we need to press for a single-payer system.

  • Peggy, I hope your brother is feeling better.

My husband is going through rescession with BCBS of IL. One week after his approved surgery he laid helpless in bed wrapped bandages and while making a casual call to BCBS of IL, an agent told me that his insurance policy was rescended (cancelled). I had never heard that word before. She was rude and condescending to me, like she had scored a hit. It is immoral what insurance companies & LOBBISTS do to us.

  • Very productive comment......... NOT!

  • I'm shocked the media doesn't give exposure to powerful testimony like Peggy Raddatz and Robin Beaton.

People I know have no awareness at all of cases like this. All they know is that in Canada they have to wait for months to get an MRI...So our system must be much better.

  • That is a fabricated bunch of crap our medical insurance companies spew to the news media. My mom worked for a company that provides the medical information system for the Canadian Medical Services as well as the ones in the UK and France. They have a triage system and if your condition is not potentially life threatening then you have to wait longer than if you have apotentially life threating need for a test.

  • In other words when I went to the radiologist and was passing blood clots the size of my hand I would not have been sitting there for 2 hours waiting on a woman who was having her breasts examined to determine if she was a candidate for implants to take her from a B to a D cup. That would not have happened in Canada, France, or the UK. However, what would have happened is that she would have complained because she had to wait to get her ultrasound and that would have been reported here.

  • Go to PBS and check out the interview that Bill Moyers did with Wendell Potter a former VP with Cigna. It is very enlightening. He is not an unhappy former employee. Moyers establishes his credentials and the conditions under which he left Cigna. He actively acknowledges that "Sicko" was targeted by the insurance industry becasue it hit the nail on the head.

  • I know Peggy Raddatz- she handled my divorce eons ago. A very competent and classy lady- and my condolences to her.

  • We should HANG them like the Europeans wanted to hang their bankersa few months ago .Americans are cowards Americans Fear Their GOV and that is Very BAD its a DICTATORSHIP ! No longer is USA the land of the Free and Brave it is the sick and dying and the Gov dont care !HR676 now call 2024561414 and tell Obama HR676 NOW !

  • This was really heartbreaking. Shows that Health Insurance companies are actually doing a disservice to the United States. I think that what was done to these people (and MANY others) is criminal, and those involved in the insurance companies SHOULD be prosecuted for criminal charges.

  • Spoken like a true Christian.

  • Just shows you're selfish and you don't give a shit about your fellow humans which means you're probably a Christian neocon that watches and believes everthing they see on Fox News. Every other industrialized nation has a national health care program except the US which makes us a 3rd world nation. Take your Republican talking points back to the stone age and take the profit motive out of health care.

  • Wow, aren't you special. And what about the millions of people that can't take care of themselves because their insurance companies cancelled their policy because they didn't want to pay for their medical care so they could profit from their deaths which is what has been happening if you haven't been paying attention. I agree with Ron Paul on a number of topics but on health care your both just spouting the same crap politicians have been spouting for decades to scare the ignorant.

  • You are what we in the disability awareness community call a TAB. It stands for Temporarily Able Bodied. This perspective is due to the fact that eventually we all get old and eventually we all get sick. I can imagine your attitude when you expect the insurance company to whom you pay your premiums to actually pay for your medical care. When they refuse I can hear you being equally as calous toward them. Of course they will reflect that calous attitude right back at you. They will win!

  • I guess your imagination of my feeling is similar to the feeling you have, but in reality they are not the same. I do not expect you to pay for my health care. Whats wrong with that.

  • Here you go. This will explain everything you need to know.

    watch?v=foXQbmZxWYY

  • You're a young fu*#ing idiot. Just had a look at your page. Clearly this issue has never touched you or anyone close to you. Eventually you're going to get a big reality check, and maybe then you'll reexamine your morally bankrupt opinions.

  • When i have a crisis, I will not need or want you to be monetary responsible for me. I am willing and able to handle it myself. You just want a free ride of health insurance at my expense. With Bush and Obama spending sprees we cannot afford it. We are going to collapse like the Soviet Union. Economically. Our dollar is worth shit (from the Federal Reserve inflation). Its time you wake the fuck up to reality. Read the Constitution.

  • Hey I want what you have. Exactly what magical health insurance company do you have that has never had a rescision on anyone they have covered and who will insure everyone.I will be more than glad to buy their coverage for my 3 uninsurable Autistic children.

  • There is not a single insurance company in this country that will insure me or my children. I have Systemic Lupus and my three kids all have Autism. Even when we had insurance we were forced into bankruptcy by an 80/20 healthcare plan with no annual cap and we had a premature baby. $576,283.42 later for our 20% of his medical bills we and our $12 hour jobs, one of which was lost due to his extensive needs, were in bankruptcy court.

  • I was once young and naive like you. Then I was diagnosed with Lupus, dropped by my health insurance, got a few gray hairs (ok a lot of gray hairs), had a premature child, was forced into bankruptcy, and have had 3 kids diagnosed with Autism. I am a lot less naive now. Hopefull you will get that way one day without the life and death situations I have experienced.

  • Would you like for me to pay for all the sick people in america?

  • No I just want you to tell me what magical insurace you have so Ican go buy some! Look the reality is that when it is your time to get sick you will be in the same boat with all the rest of us and you will be needing the medical care and you will have no money because you will not be physically able to work and someone else will be paying for you. Yes we are all our brother's keeper. Yes, we have a social responsibility to care for one another.

  • We also have a moral responsibility to contribute as long as we are able and not leech off of one another. If we had the French health care system and every capable American worked then things would be much better. Of course, if we had government employees that came out and helped with the care of our children and with our laundry and the general upkeep of our homes the way the French do then more people would be employed by those positins and more mothers would be able to work.

  • We don't seem to have too much of an issue paying taxes that pay for our "socialized military" or our "socialized fire and police departments" or even our "socialized trash pick up" (in some parts of the country) but we have a problem paying for "socialized medical care".

  • To apply your logic to those areas you would have to ask why you should support people whose houses catch on fire or why should you have to pay for officers to root out the criminal element. Why not force the victims of the criminal element to pay for the police depatments and the victims of fire to pay for the fire departments. You aren't using the fire department or the police department to investigate any crime against you so why should you help pay for them...... that is your logic....

  • So no im not but yes i am because we have a social responsibility. Hmmm. Ok. Listen I feel for you, but I think you are in the wrong country. We are supposed to be a republic where everyone has god given freedoms not to be infringed by anyone else including government. We are even supposed to be paying an income tax, its unconstitutional. The more government has gotten into private industries the worse it has gotten. Government run health care sounds like a nightmare. talk to the Canadians.

  • Our healthcare is just fine, it works, it's free, we have state of the art facilitiesand there is insignificant wait times for serious illness.I can go see a Doctor when ever I need to (any Doctor) the cost to run it is about 3%- And as a plus, businesses are not shouldered with the burden of providing health insurance (why do you think walmart endorses it)

  • You don't need to, People can pay for their own if they are given fair health insurance.
