@ccclllsport During the time when Hitler was presented with Operation: Sea Lion, and Operation: Barbarossa - England was in a state of severe disarray, many units were poorly equipped or not at all, including the Home guard. An land invasion of Britain could be argued that it would have been immensely successful, however costly. They were not prepared to face the full Wehrmact war-machine. The fighting spirit of the Brits did play a decisive factor in the victory over the skies of Britain.

@Lonegraywolfable i doubt that, this is only my opinion. Germany attacked russia because hitler thought Britain would get the USA involved so hitler needed the resourses in russia. This was before the japs attacked. Hitler was losing in russia. I think that if america hadn't joined, we could have stil won only with russia doing most of the work. America takes to much credit for defeating the germans. Like many veterans say, they sped the ending of the war up. Britian would not be speaking german

Do not confuse us with the french who let the germans take paris so that it didn't get destoryed like polands capital. Britain's will to be free was stronger then any will to surrender. If you atually talk to people who lived through it, you can see the fury in their eyes when they remember the war. My grandma said that she would have poisend german soilders asking them in for tea.

ok ok - as a PhD history student specialising on WWII let me just inform you that Hitler's main target was always Russia to provide lebensraum (living space) for the german people and not britain - READ HIS PRE-WAR BOOK MEIN KAMPF!

However, golfprowhatever you are retarded - around 95% of the Luftwaffe's combat strength was deployed in the summer of 1940 against britain and the German army was IRRELEVANT due to the english channel, lack of air superiority and the royal navy.

Yes, the British bullcrapped the Luftwaffe that their planes only carried .303s, whereas in fact the Hurricanes were armed with 20mm cannon.

actually they shot down the same amount roughly, but then the hurricane had to fire down more static bombers whereas the spitfire had to shoot down fighters wich were alll over the place.
