I just love PRS's quality control. You can expect quality when you purchase a PRS. These are the best instruments in my opinion. Even their SE models are beautiful. Pictures and videos online just don't do them justice. Believe me.

@daylantin I have to disagree with that. If you think there is no difference then go buy a First Act at K-Mart. Seriously, there is a big difference between PRS, Gibson, and Fender and thats just comparing guitars in the same price range. You get what you pay for.

@daylantin Parents arent supposed to buy their kids $2000+ dollar guitars, especially if they arent pros. Just save your money, and be happy that theyre willing to hook u up w/ 200 bucks. PRS guitars are like the ferraris of electric guitars, their for serious collectors, professionals, and passionate enthusiasts w/ disposable income. Don't resent your parents for not willing to spend so much on a guitar. Unless your parents where musicians, most 13yrs give up instruments in their late teens.

@daylantin Dude when i was 13 i had a squier fender strat. Your lucky your parents would give you anything you sound like a spoiled little bitch complaining for more and more.Most kids give up instruments real quick. I dont blame my parents for not getting me something over 400 bucks. I never had A USA Made fender or gibson until i paid for them myself in my early 20s. Quit being a cry ass and learn to play first.

Take a strat over a prs? I am willing to say you've never tried one or simply prefer the sound of a strat plastic pickguard / single coil resonance. As far as a flexible instrument goes and one that has high quality instead of vintage appeal (why is everyone trying to be retro anyway? There already was a Hendrix etc be your own player) then prs and others like them (mj, j nunis) are the way forward.

I initially chose a strat but now that I have played more and am choosing another guitar I'm thinking PRS just because of features, scale length, and overall verstitality. I was tempted to get a guitar some of my favorite players use, but decided to go with a PRS because of the refinements they have made to their guitars.

@Iwazaru674 great! not being contrary but I've simply found the tone of a PRS to be superior to the grandaddy (and rarely changed) instruments pumped out by fender / gibson. Just my non-10 top mccarty would be a quadruple A top according to Gibson. Go to GC and look at the les paul standards - all of them have bad taping jobs that overlap the binding all over the place, etc - its just a lower standard than PRS, and it shows.

Yes i have a 80's les paul gold top and a 2004 prs, both great guitars but the new gibsons just suck and they keep raising their prices? I dont get it the quality is way down.  and all the crappy faded guitars they put out arent worth anything to me. garbage i would take a se prs over a newer gibson for sure.

it seems that bigger companies don't take as much to build their guitars like PRS does. PRS quality is amazing.... but ya know what, I still choose my strat over a PRS any day. And if PRS was ever as big as Fender and Gibson they would probably sufer the same faults.

PRS is as big as Fender and Gibson. I'm not a PRS fanboy, cause Gibson is my favorite company. However, I don't think anyone can deny the amazing fact that PRS did in 20 years what took Gibson and Fender 50 years to do

@A7Xile Yeah in Gibson's case it took them 50 years to go from an awesome guitar to a ok guitar that half the time is awful. Gibson QC is a joke for most people. You find awesome ones and super crappy ones. PRS is consistent. But I agree with what you said.

Go PRS. We worth it. Musicians friend gives good general pricing but PRS now offers a pd on thier site. I've got a hollowbody II and they blow any fender out of the water on many ways. Just avoid the Korean SE's.

an american made prs custom will cost you about a thousand dollars more than a standard american telecaster, about 5-700 morethan an american deluxe. but they're too totally different guitars. teles are mostly used for country and rhythm stuff, while a PRS can do just about ANYTHING...blues, rock, funk, clean, country, metal, etc.

Watch this, watch the Carvin tour, and then watch the Gibson and Fender tours - Carvin and PRS are made so intelligently and carefully; for whatever custom shop Gibsons are made in that factory WHY would you not get a PRS? And Carvin wins so bad for being lower in price - the Fender American factory is like mass production over the top - take piece, in machine, out machine, next station - factory tours have finally made sense of why I always thought Gibson and Fender were behind in quality

I am addicted to PRS Guitars. Have been since 1993. I swear I have owned them all...Fender, Gibson, Jackson, Ibanez, etc even Melancons, Suhrs, Andersons, etc. I always come back to the PRS. They Play that much better. They look absolutely Gorgeous with the quilted / Flame maple tops, and they have a Super Vibe that the others cannot touch. My Favorite of the 4 that I own is the 2000 Custom 24 Teal Black 10 top with Birds.PRS is the SHIT!!!
