When it comes to Jackie Wilson can you keep your hands off the dislikes button. It must have been satin himself am I right? Jackie is the best of all time
does anybody know where i can get an instrumental (backing track track) of this song? i need it for the funeral of a close friend and would really appreciate any help.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful song....I grew up in Detroit during the 50's and 60's and remember Jackie Wilson very well. I had no idea that he recorded this song...its hard to believe that such a song, to St. Theresa, would be done in a popular music style and apparently was a big hit back then. Sadly, today, the sentiment would be quite different. Please St. Theresa, watch over Jackie and all of us during these troubled times.
Thank you ever so much. This is absolutely wonderful. St. Therese is my patron saint and I never heard this before. I am sharing this with my sisters. God bless you.
Thanks so much for posting this. It's absolutely wonderful! A true Golden Oldie from the golden age of Rock & Roll. I'd venture a guess that no one singing today has "the chops" to sing like Jackie wilson or his contemporaries did back then. Those artists are each one in a million, the likes of whom may never be seen again...Bravo!
what memories..grew up on the hard streets of detroit..this song has been on my mind for years..listen to it at the silvercup restaurant on fourteenth street while wailing for the linwood bus..
Even though Michael Jackson was voted "Entertainer of the Century" and rightfully so, in my opinion that title belongs to Mr. Excitement! Jackie Wilson was the best in the biz!!
I had this back in the 50's and wore the 45 out. Have searched for it forever! I love love love this, I wish I could find it to record on a CD, can you help
This Song is now available on various CDs. There was a 3 CD box set ( now out of print but available on e-bay), Mr. Excitement" that has it. Recently there were a few CDs of Billy Ward and The Dominos featuring Jackie Wilson that had this song..it's better to pay for them than to 'rip" them off!
Its definitely better to buy the song than to rip it off and the quality is a hundred times better. Using a program like Youtube Catcher should only be useful when the song is out of print or you're only interested in one song and not really the artist. That's when I use it at least. But if you like the artist I also think we should buy the albums and support the artist.
I don't think a penny would reach Jackie Wilsons estate or any other member of the Dominoes (except maybe Billy Ward), A solo record might but black vocal groups tended to have underpaid singers.
it took me ages to find Billy Ward and his Dominoes CDs
