@ninky15 Mormons seriously frown on anyone marrying outside the Mormon church. You cannot have a temple wedding if you do and non Mormons cannot attend the wedding and other temple events. I am not Mormon/LDS but know current and former members.
You almost become a non Mormon if you marry a non Mormon.
I bet every Osmond was forbidden to even date a non Mormon just in case they fell in love with one.....
Mormons frown on marrying outside the church just like Catholics or other religions do, but members are still free to marry whomever they want. It's true that you can't have a temple wedding marrying a non-member, but that doesn't preclude someone from marrying the person (and religion) of their choice. A person is not shunned for doing so. I could name hundreds of examples of famous Mormons and even family members of mine who have married outside the faith.
Good points ninky15: someone won't be an LDS church leader if they marry outside the church. I think Mother and Father Osmond would not have allowed any serious dating of any of their kids to non Mormons... which is fine. People should really marry within their faith. Marriage is hard enough and we should have that common bond.
I didn't say nobody loved him. He just wasn't anywhere near as talented as the others. When he came out, the show's quality fell drastically. He's the Tito of the Osmonds.
Wait, Mormons aren't Christians, so what are they doing celebrating Christmas? They may CALL themselves Christians, but it's a historical fact that theirs is a faith of false prophecy, and a transparent front for a child-rape cult.
Not that there's anything wrong with that ... but please stop calling yourselves "Christians."
Things were going great 'til Jimmy had to come in and ugly it all up.
Hey. Anybody notice that there weren't any black people in the audience. Mormons didn't recognize black people until after the 70s. Now they hate gays.

Well. It's not my fault your church, as a matter of policy discriminated against blacks and now gays. Why not work to change the policy?
MidnightChimes 3 years ago
ex-mormon? Why...do people who leave the church complain about it?
I have nothing against the church. Just think that you can't whitewash over bad things that have gone on in church policy...like the Catholics.

sure you hate gays. Prop 8 was your big FU to them. And not racist? Maybe you better go sit down with Brigham Young and talk about that. Spin away.
