Whether it's in Hong Kong or New York, I would never ever fly Alitalia again...their service is simply horrible, they are rude and they think they are hot shit. I had to stay in Heathrow for over 40 hours because of the great service Alitalia offers and to make it worse they refused to give me a hotel...and even worser is that I was a fool to trust them another time with the same flight and the same thing happened all over again.

@1897i Alitalia may have once been a giant, but now it is nothing to be proud of. I've also flown Meridiana, Lufthansa Italy, Airone and MyAir and of all these carriers in Italy, Alitalia really is the weakest.
I'm not sure if you trying to slam Swiss Intl, but that is one of the better carriers along with Lufthansa when crossing the atlantic.

Whether it's in Hong Kong or New York, I would never ever fly Alitalia again...their service is simply horrible, they are rude and they think they are hot shit. I had to stay in Heathrow for over 40 hours because of the great service Alitalia offers and to make it worse they refused to give me a hotel...and even worser is that I was a fool to trust them another time with the same flight and the same thing happened all over again.
Alitalia, Italy and Italians are to be avoided.

overbooking ando lost baggage is a common feature all over the world.
I flew with KLM sometimes and they succeeded in loosing my baggage 2-3 times. A world record I believe.

I'm not an expert but B747 usually has flaps set to 10 degrees to take of. When is very heavy (maxed passengers + cargo + fuel) it may require to lower them more but lowering them to FULL is unlikely as the induced drag is making the takeoff impossible.

No, the database and charts were changed overnight and they had to accommodate 2 airports with the same identifier for use in navigation during the samw time.. Kai Tak was only VHHX for a brief period of time, it was VHHH. Generally, flight simulator charts have the VHHX instead of the VHHH.
