Lothian did not end the association with Madder and White, and that was not the reason for the introduction of Harlequin. Harlequin was introduced to differentiate the Madder Step entry fleet from the new Low Floor Access fleet, Now as of March 23rd 2010 Madder and White is replacing Harlequin for good!
Lothian NEVER intended in anyway to replace its traditional livery, Just become a Low Floor Access Company. They have retained 285 (P285PSX) for Restoration/Preservation purposes!
@Jamespringlephoto I think you have missed the point in what was written there. Yes, madder and white do continue in use in the new livery, and in the harlequin scheme introduced to differentiate between step entrance and low floor buses. However, the traditional corporation application that has seen use since at least the early 50s on buses is no longer used in regular service.
I WANT THEM BACK. PLEASE GIVE ME THEM BACK! NO NO NO NO NO NO! I MISS THEM DEARLY! :-(
