  • What was the name of the vitamin you mentioned??

  • @AndreaMrllo Its a B vitamin called Biotin. I take Super Biotin and it rocks. Its 5000 micrograms and is relatively cheap to buy but does so much good! XO Carolyn

  • I'm gonna try this! Thanks!!! Great video!

  • @AndreaMrllo I love this haircut. Makes life simple! XO Carolyn

  • I JUST DID IT!!! IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!

  • @mafeezez That's fantastic! You obviously did a great job! XO Carolyn

  • I love this. thanks so much <3

  • @menka360 You are so welcome! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot I WATCHED IT LAST NIGHT, AND TRIED IT THIS MORNING. TURNED OUT GREAT! <3

  • @menka360 So cool! Thanks for letting us know! XO

  • ii watched this video last night before ii cut my hair & it looks really good . thanks for thee help:)

  • @KaitieCoy That's totally cool! Horray! XO

  • Finally! This was the best I've seen....will definitely be doing this one.

  • @aRealJawjaPeach Yes, this technique is a real keeper! Fingers crossed you'll love it too! XO Carolyn

  • so...you use really BIG scissors to send packages in the mail? :D

  • fantastic i really liked it thank u so much

  • @bhardwajp1 You are so welcome! XO

  • thank you so much ! :) I had been watching videos for creaclip but can't afford to spend that much on plastic so I was wondering if you could simply brush your hair forward and just cut it but was too scared to do it. im so thankful I stumbled across this video!

  • @ricanbabiigurl Yeah, I'm not completely sold on creaclips anyway. However, if you need help holding your hair in position to make a cut, you can also go to any Beauty Supply Store (like Sally's) and get a longer regular hair clip. Most of them have a slight curve but that shouldn't make a lot of difference in the results. In the meantime, I hope you get great results from this simple cut like I did! XO Carolyn

  • I got the guts to do this yesterday and i love it! thanks so much! =-)

  • @BrandyO84 That is so cool! Its hard to get up the nerve to actually make the cut but this is such a great technique! So glad it turned out great! XO Carolyn

  • THANK. YOU. I have ridiculous amounts o hair--mine is even thicker than yours, believe it or not--so it's been near impossible for me to find a tutorial on layers for thick hair, and thy never get it right at a salon. I plan to try this out in a week or two, after I recolor my hair! c:

  • @OfTheTreeFolk I hope when you try it, you'll love it as much as I do! Just follow the directions and take your time and your hair will turn out fine:o) XO Carolyn

  • those are some huge scissors O_O

  • I take biotin but its not super. It does make my hair grow really quick. My nails are another matter, they are always breaking catching on things. Great hair cut tips I might try it. I knew about cutting the hair str8 across but didnt know about the other angles you do.

  • @2Ryled If the biotin you take is 5000 micrograms, then you're already taking super biotin:o) I take it just about everyday and it really does help. In fact, if I hadn't been taking it last year when I suddenly got sick and started losing hair, I am sure I'd have lost more. It also helps my sad nails grow. They are super long and super strong, although if I don't cut them regularly, they can still get caught on certain fabrics and tear. The sides are a problem when they get super long. XO

  • i ouldnt really see if u were going left to right, or did u got from up to down, when u get the short in the front and ong in the back, plz anser :o

  • @superpup2255 Cut your hair straight across, left to right. XO

  • why wouldn't you have used your actual joewell hair cutting shears? you should never use regular ole' scissors especially when you said yourself you've used them for wrapping presents and such. using those will cause split ends!

  • @SouthernGirl1227 I didn't use my Joewell shears because they are far too short to make one cut for my thick hair. I keep my other scissors razor sharp too and since they're quite large, I can cut all my hair at once. I don't use them often but do use them when I need to! I had split ends when I was in high school... back when dinosaurs ruled the earth.. Haven't had them in a long time cause I learned how to keep my hair healthy! XO Carolyn

  • Don't do this trust me.I remember watching this when i was like 12 thinking my hair would turn out great so I did everystep oh boy my hair was screwed up lol.Maybe it looks better on certain hair types but idk.

  • @fluffyoreos 99% of the people who've tried it, love it! It might just be worth a second look?

  • Thank you so much! I have really long black hair and I have been looking for a way to get this V shape at the bottom as well as lots of layers. I just got done using this method and I am amazed at how it turned out! I did it in three separate sections so I would get a lot more layers. I LOVE IT!!! So quick, so easy, and amazing results! Thank you again! :)

  • @Lindsay0601 That is so cool that you did it in 3 separate sections! How did you do that? XO Carolyn

  • You've saved me SO much money and time, beautiful lady! I just took the plunge and did this, and it's given me the gentle layering and shape around my face that I always try to coax from a hairdresser, but which I rarely quite end up with. I can see I'll be trying out different modifications of this now every time I need a trim! All the very best from Ireland!

  • @changzhouya Hi sweetheart... youtube sent me a broken link so I couldn't respond to your comment a while back. I am glad that they've got it fixed now and so happy that this cut helped you and gave you some great layers! All the best from Newport, NC!

  • @theinnercreative Yeah, I hope Katia stays away from NC! She does not have permission to come here! lol Biotin is fantastic! I absolutely love how well it works! You take care too! XO Carolyn

  • @theinnercreative It was quite a storm! It took forever to go away too! I kept going on the back porch and yelling for Irene to leave the scene! lol I am glad its over but am physically and emotionally drained. I have no energy left! And now we have Katia headed in our general direction. The fun never ends! XO

  • @theinnercreative Sorry for the delay in replying. I just went thru hurricane Irene. We were ground zero where I live on the NC coast. It was not fun! But Lars and I are OK thankfully!

  • @theinnercreative Aw... You rock lady! XO

  • @theinnercreative Yes, look in the vitamins section and you will find the link. Thank you so much for your support and super sweet message! XO Carolyn

  • Carolyn,

If u wanted to have a V shape in You hair

Does ur hair need to be

Long? i have medium hair so if i cut it would it be to short ?

  • @LeaaLeaax2 How long is your hair exactly? To your shoulder blades at least? This does work better for longer hair but you could also try to layer cut your hair using another technique. Just look for it in my vids. (how to layer cut your hair)

  • Caroline thank you so very much! I hadn't had a haircut since Thanksgiving because I have not been able to afford it. I have really thick naturally curly hair that is so so heavy that i get headaches. I followed your instructions and it looks great! Feels so much better! First time ever cutting my hair too! God Bless You!

  • @alexsgal01 Its pretty awesome to be able to cut your own hair isn't it? So glad you like your hair and that things worked out well for you. Having some shape to your hair can be very uplifting! I am sure you did a great job! XO Carolyn

  • This worked perfectly for me Carolyn! Thank you so much for posting! My hair cut looks very professional and it has a lot of volume! Do you have/could you make a video about how to cut hair in straight line (request by my sister). Thanks again!

  • @frosaki I already have a video about 'how to trim your hair'. Its a technique I use to blunt cut my hair. It only works on hair that's shoulder length or longer though and is so easy. Look thru my videos and see if you can't find it. Youtube doesn't allow me to post the URL or I'd do it for ya! Glad this cut worked well for you! XO Carolyn

  • @ilyaj07 Sweetheart, you will need to review the video again. When I cut my hair, I cut it straight across... so the end result is the layers you see in my hair in the actual video. Of course, if you take more length, it would give you shorter layers. If you cut less length, it would give you longer layers... but all would end in a V. I explained in the video, that if you cut the hair on a slant, the V would be sharper and narrower. Make sense? XO Carolyn

  • I tried to do this with my hair. I didn't get layers, but my hair correct and it cut straight across, so I guess it is a win. :) Kinda wish it had worked though. :P Guess I have to wait for my hair to grow more.

  • @screamogirl56 Yeah, this won't work well on shorter hair. The V cut is for meant to be done on medium to long hair. For (slightly) faster hair growth, take super biotin like I do everyday. It totally works! XO Carolyn

  • my reaction:

    HOLY SHIT! WHERES MY SCISSORS?!

  • @uyentran1234 Yep, its that easy! Don't get overly zealous though and make mistakes. Keep your hair aligned so the cut works the way its supposed to:o) Best of luck! Carolyn

  • U need some deep conditioning ur hair are fried !! Cut came out good tho ..

  • @Rooprani12 My hair is not dry or fried dear. I deep condition regularly, and do not use many hair products and do not use hot irons at all. My hair is simply thick and is very curly underneath, which makes it 'stick out'. My hair is also as soft as a babies bottom.

  • you said on another video that cutting wet hair is best so would you recommend doing this with wet hair too?

  • @Guitarist2095 Great question! It all depends on the circumstance really. With this cut, you'll need to be sure to brush out your hair well before you make the cut.... to keep the back of your hair in the back and the front of your hair in the front. So this cut is better suited for a dry cut. XO Carolyn

  • will this work with short hair thats about sholder lenght or a little longer??

  • @hotglitterymess V cuts are best done on longer hair. You could try layering your hair. Look thru my videos for 'how to layer cut your hair'. That would be a better technique for you to try. XO

  • Will this work on Medium -Short lengthed hair? Thanks - <3

  • @karimattify How long is your hair exactly? Shoulder length? Shorter? You might want to try the ponytail method instead. Look thru my videos for how to layer cut your hair or the long layered haircut videos. XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Yeah, its shoulder length. Thanks for helping me! :)

  • I'm going to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, but after seeing the great results on your videos, I took the plunge and tried it myself. I am SO impressed and happy with my results!! I've gotten so many compliments this week and people can't believe that I did this myself (and I bet they wouldn't believe how easy it is either). I will never pay 60 dollars for a haircut ever again.

  • @KatriniaMcCoy So cool isn't it? So, are you going to share your secret? lol Have a blessed day! XO Carolyn

  • This is incredible! Never in a million years did I think I'd be able to cut my own hair, but this turned out great on my super long, thick hair. I cut about 5 inches off. :)

  • @CarrieVeronica That's fantastic sweetheart! So glad you got great results! XO Carolyn

  • if you want save money, you must do this think on this video ! great idea

  • if you can save your money, you must do this think on this video ! great idea

  • Thanks very much; I can't wait to try this. Looks great!

  • Hot dang that was good! it looks great. Way easier than any other technique I've seen.

  • @chocolatemomof3 It is so easy! and works so well! XO

  • thank youuu :) i did this and it looks great. Saved me money!

  • @Livia7111 That's fantastic! XO!

  • she looks like she should be lady gagas mom

  • @shanellaakhtar1 And I wished I had lady gagas momma's money! lol

  • great vid (:

  • I like your videos. They are very helpful. Thanks!!

  • @beckreck Why thank you! Hope you have a fantastic weekend! XO

  • woah staedy there granma

  • @bamner100 I'm not a grandma yet but thanks for the compliment! Rock on!

  • im 15, is it ok for me to take biotin?

  • @cidems1 Sweetheart, you will have to ask your mom and dad first. Biotin is safe to take but you will need permission before you take it. K? XO Carolyn

  • @iHeartMaruchan Off the top of my head - Try and eat wholesome healthy foods, take biotin daily, wear your hair in a ponytail on top of your head overnight, (hair grows up on top of your head), and massage your scalp to stimulate blood flow. XO

  • so, biotin REALLY helps hair growth???? and is it safe for a 16 yr. old 2 take???? please reply back!!!!!!!!

  • @Summer1736 Yes sweetheart. Biotin is safe for you! If you go to my site and look under the vitamins tab, you will find a page all about biotin. Read it. I've been taking super biotin for years and never had any problems with it. XO

  • @Summer1736 Please do remember to ask your parents permission before taking biotin. They will need to do their own research to determine if it's right for you! It is completely safe but there may be some reason they don't want you to take it. Listen to them. Parents know best. XO PS if they don't want you to take the supplement, you can get a day's supply of biotin by eating one egg yolk, plus egg yolks are also rich in vitamin D!

  • so, biotin REALLY helps hair growth???? and is it safe for a 16 yr. old 2 take????

  • @Summer1736 Biotin is a b vitamin that helps with growth of hair, skin, and nails. It is totally safe because it's water soluble. You can't take too much of it. XO

  • Thanks!! Now I don't have to waste money going to he salons anymore!!

  • @Panguin YEAH! XO

  • Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I have very thick, heavy, naturally wavy hair (though the weight pulls it straight when it's long). It tends to flip out in every direction when short, so I needed something medium length, and this was it! I'm disabled, broke, and can't hold my arms up forever, so your method was perfect for me. I left it a little long on purpose, so tomorrow I may go back and take a bit more off. Thank you so much for posting this! You're the best!

  • @limbrooke83 You're so welcome! XO

  • thanks alot!! many people have been commenting on how beautiful my hair looks and asked which salon i cut it at.

    :)

  • @jusdathang That is so cool! Thanks for letting me know! Which salon did you use? lol XO Carolyn

  • this is the best advice i have used in cutting my own hair, best results with minimal effort!!!

    thank you!!

  • @jusdathang I agree 100%! It's my fav haircut too! XO Carolyn

  • biotin yes! it helped my hair growth, all hair areas were at a fast growth pace as well! lol! my nails were noticeably longer in a shorter length of time which was awesome, and as for skin, softer and bit of a glow

  • @jusdathang I love biotin too. I have always loved the egg yolk more than the egg white. Its no wonder though. Egg yolks are also packed with biotin so they're a great way to increase biotin in your body naturally. Blessings! XO Carolyn

  • wow i wish i could do this to all the client that come in my salon haha takes 2 minutes! instead of having the do the long process of sectioning!

  • @ttyl123x You know that's right! Maybe you could try blind folding your clients? lol XO Carolyn

  • @heba78y Its a B vitamin called Super Biotin. (500 micrograms) I've been taking it for a few years now. Love the results! XO

  • It's look so hard to do yourself !

  • @worrellallison1 Its only one cut sweetheart. How hard can that be? If you read the comments below, you will see how many other women successfully have done this cut. Just take your time if you try it! XO Carolyn

  • Why don' t you get one of those Creaclip thing, this is so much better then what you had done.

  • @worrellallison1 I am not sure if Creaclip is needed in this cut... but by all means, if it helps you, then use it! XO

  • I love how thick your hair is. Beautiful! I wish my real hair was thick.

  • @Dameka247 Well, I wished my hair was thinner... sometimes its a royal pain... lol Are you taking biotin? I highly recommend it for hair growth. I take 5000mcg. every day. XO Carolyn

  • Hei,thx for sharing..i hav my nice n perfect V cut..its amazing!! Thank U so much- fr Malaysia!

  • @WhoAmi8083 It is amazing isn't it? So great! XO Carolyn

  • this did not work for me. i tried the cut on the angle for short layers in the front and long in the back. but now my hair is messed up. i wish i just would have left my hair alone. then i said what the heck let me try to cut it straight the way she showed in the video but that still didnt work. now i have length off of my hair that i didnt want

  • @alicau7 She is me and I am really sorry about your hair. I wished I had a dime for everytime I've screwed up cutting my own hair. Its painful yes but thankfully hair grows out. If you are ever unsure of yourself, leave it alone! What I would have recommended that you do, is to do the cut according to the demonstration first and only cut a little bit, to see how it looked. Baby steps is the best way to do things if you're new at cutting your hair.

  • @alicau7 I don't know your age but you might it would be good if you took Super Biotin everyday to help with hair growth. I truly hope you can find a way to make your hair look better! I know how bummed you must be. Been there. I wished I was there to help you fix it! XO Carolyn

  • @alicau7 Oh, and the absolute worst thing you could ever do when you mess up your hair, is to keep cutting it. That just doesn't help, as you have learned. Its best to wait till you can clearly think things through. I know it easier said than done though....

  • this did not work for me. i tried the cut on the angle for short layers in the front and long in the back. but now my hair is messed up. i wish i just would have left my hair alone

  • sorry, I'm not trying to be evil I just cant understand why if you as a stylist would recomend this to your clients? Aside from the random artistic eye, there's alot of training and technique that's not accounted for here, although your angles are correct. I just makes me uncomfortable letting people think they got what they wanted when it doesn't seem finished to my training ( for example, I think the length/thickness/texture of your hair wouldn't turn out even without sectioning/point cuts.

  • @o0dollvface0o I understood that... but here's the rub. These people are not my 'clients'. They are (hopefully) my subscribers and money is tight! I have been cutting my own hair for over 20 years now and love it. What freedom it gives me! Yeah, I've screwed up my hair LOTS but its part of the 'cut your own hair' learning curve. I expect it not to look perfect but it'll do! I like it and that's whats most important to me... but I can see how someone whose artistic might find fault with this too.

  • I cut my hair for the first time using this method (: except it wasn't one cut. i bent over and cut parts close to my forehead a little shorter and didn't really cut the parts near the nape of my neck. it turned out really pretty (: i had soft layers and it kept the length of my hair. thankyou so much (: -3

  • @marialynnify Wow, sounds interesting! Glad you thought of a way to modify the cut for your own use! Thanks for sharing! XO Carolyn

  • A good stylist will listen/ work through getting you to your best-you are their walking business card! I'm also going to point out at a chain store personal touches and quality go out the window for the minimum wage/time they push on the stylists. Surprise them, ask questions before the cut schedule extra consultation time to get to know what they know before you commit; a good stylist is like a good therapist, well worth the money- for the one item you never take off- treat them well ! Thanks

  • @o0dollvface0o Hey, I have been a stylist for many years so I do understand where you're coming from. Unless you physically examined my hair after the cut, its impossible to tell if my hair looked choppy or not. I have lots of underlying curls in some sections but my hair is straight in others... therefore, getting a perfect cut is nearly impossible unless its wet. I became a stylist because of exactly what you're saying. I wanted to be one person who actually listened to her clients wishes.

  • @o0dollvface0o But you've got to admit that many stylists simply just don't listen to your requests! What you describe is what most people want in a stylist but seldom find. And btw, the scissors I used because they are sharp and I could do the make the cut using one cut only... (time constraints) but they are not lawn shears. I have a pair of Jowell shears but the blade length isn't long enough for one cut only. Have a blessed day!

  • Wow ladies it does add more layers , but she missed the finer points of a haircut that extensive ongoing training, and general skill , instead opting for that cheap I just cut my hair with lawn scissors look, because yes it is very choppy and uneven, i have no problem with you making this video, its a free country and that is the joy of youtube, but i would ask that people such as yourself dont claim or act as if we the professionals are doing anything of poor quality and you can do better

  • yo welcome.....

  • @MILEYSFNN97 Thanks! So glad it helped! XO Carolyn

  • u can even make a pony tail wet yo hair n cut it down strait or slanting.....i did that just today n i got an awesome emo look.....do de same wid de bang hold it high up n cut it straight...thn c how it cums out..

  • @TheKonvictted That's cool! Thanks for the added tips!

  • my gf is doing this rite now lol...

  • @chrismahaffey6666 Hope it came out great!

  • @xKatieChaos Why that's absolutely wonderful! Thank you for letting me know! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Yes, it makes sense to learn how to cut your own hair... cause hairdressers never listen do they? XO Carolyn

  • i tried it!! i only did a little little bit it looks fabulous and i feel good that its had a little trim that I was in charge of! - even though it was JUST a little bit i took off it looks nice fuller :-) thankyou!

  • @inthesunshinegirl That is so great! Just a little cut can make a huge difference, as you've found out! So glad you like your hair! XO Carolyn

  • forget about a hairdresser im sticking with this from now on - thanks!! :-)

  • @inthesunshinegirl Amen! (And I'm a hairdresser!) lol XO Carolyn

  • i cut my hair just lyk u did i love it thanks sooo much i saved time n money :)

  • @MyStarz2010 Love it! Saving money and time is so great! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you for this video :)

  • @Totogasm You are so welcome!

  • I tried this and it worked! Thx so much! You have very beautiful hair. Wish mine were that thick.

  • @auntmeme902 That's so great! I just can't say enough good things about this cut. Wished I had known about it years ago! I could have saved a bunch of time and a bunch of cash! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you a lot!! This really helped!! (:

  • @msestrella143 That's fantastic! XO Carolyn

  • I used to always cut my hair like that and I never have to worry about how bad it looks. I like it and I love how ur hair turned out. Some ppls are just so rude.. I can't believe that they actually said that.. I would love to have hair when I'm old. But I guess they are just complaining because they don't want any.. Ur very lucky. Think to the bright side:D -3

  • @cutxiongurl I do think on the bright side:o) and love having a positive attitude. It helps a lot! I don't let the negative comments get to me. I refuse! Stay sweet! XO Carolyn

  • I love your videos.. specially the ones about the back stretches helped me a lot

  • @MsNelibell Thank you so much! Glad my videos are helping you! XO Carolyn

  • Awesome!! Thanks so much for the tutorial! After watching i immediatly went and cut my hair and was amazed, like you were at just how well it worked. Its definitly going to save me quite a bit of money in the long run. Thanks again. Cheers!

  • @FreedomsAMyth That's way cool! This is my absolute favorite haircut now! So glad your hair turned out nicely too! XO Carolyn

  • whats the vitamin you said you take for thicker hair?? srry, i didnt quite understand..

  • @anihilatorX Its called Biotin... but I take Super Biotin which is 5000 mcg. Its a water soluble vitamin so you can't take too much of it... when/if you do, your body just expels the leftovers... Hope this helps! XO Carolyn

  • I am SUPER surprised of how ggod that turned out, I know alot about hair but didnt know that it would be that easy to get that hair cut..btw don't listen to that person telling u that u are old, people are so rude..it amazes me. But Im 28 and hope I still look as good as u do when Im ure age! BTW I think its great u took that comment with a grain of salt!

  • @ryansbaby79 I didn't know either. I used to do this cut the old fashioned way, which is to divide the hair into two sections, pull one section at a time all the way to the front and cut straight down... which is taxing to say the least! (I also did a video about it before I learned this cut.) Anyway, it does work extremely well for one cut! Thank you for your kindness. It is always appreciated! I don't let rude comments get to me that's true! I always try and be the better person! XO Carolyn

  • thaaaaankyouu :)

  • @TURKISHWOG7 You are so welcome:o)

  • you're old, you need to chop it off.

  • @jensenvalerie Yes, I am extremely old... could be dead anytime now! Have a great day! XO Carolyn

  • oh that's pretty good considering it was with one cut!!

  • @uscpharm07 I will take 'pretty good' any day of the week! Sure beats the heck out of trusting and paying a hairdresser to make the cut for meI XO Carolyn

  • This method worked for me, thanks.

  • @bloodhoundgal And for me and many others too. Thanks for posting! XO

  • Her hair is totally uneven. Yikes!

  • @dfwparentstv How you can even tell if my hair is uneven is totally bogus. Unless you are in the room with me checking the lengths... you can't.

Perfectionism has no place in my videos so move on! And have a nice day!

  • its kinda choppy

  • @abrasive8 And your point is?

  • @notaditdot

    what do you think?

  • @notaditdot

    what do you think?

not trying to be rude just expressed my opinion

  • @abrasive8 That's fine. You are certainly entitled to it. Many haircuts look a bit choppy after they're just cut but give them a week or so, and hair has a way of blending better.. when it grows a bit. I don't mind choppy actually. It all depends on your satisfaction level. When somethings free and easy to implement, most people are flexible about the results. IMHO, my hair didn't look choppy but that's just my take on it... Have a great day! XO

  • D: Ahh im afraid of cutting my hair cause if i mess up my mom will be like: OMG WHAT THA F*CK DID YOU DO?!!?!

  • @tententallent Ask your mom to watch the video and have her do it for you. Makes perfect sense to me! (You're a funny girl... lol)

  • @tententallent yes same here i cut my bangs and they were a little too short and she freaked haha but its all good now.

  • @ncklvr95 I cut my bangs really short one time... went shopping sheepishly... and actually had a guy walk up to me and tell me he liked them a lot! Insane as it might be, that's the facts. lol XO Carolyn
