  • I live this show so much.

  • where is mike!?!?!?!?>?!?!!

  • I wonder if this was after Mike quit the show? Wikipedia says: Nesmith's last Monkees commitment was a Kool-Aid commercial, in April 1970. With the band's fortunes continuing to fall, Nesmith asked to be released from his contract and had to pay a default: "I had three years left at $150,000 a year" which he had to pay back. Nesmith continued to produce his compositions with the Monkees, withheld many of the songs from the final Monkees' albums, only to release them on post-Monkees solo records.

  • Great memories! Where is Mike Nesmith?

  • where was mike?

  • Hehehe, way too precious!

  • I took Charlene Cavanaugh to Olympia in 1967 to see the Monkees. They were the best...at the time!

  • Really cute original version of "POTC" er what???

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Those silly monkeys - this is great.

  • Is that the late Noam Pitlik at 0:11 in the striped shirt?

  • Yes it is. Mr Pitlik also appeared another Monkees Episode, Everywhere A Sheik Sheik.

  • Thanks. I always thought Noam Pitlik was a good actor. Seems like it was usually in the role of a character actor (such as on the Bob Newhart show). But I think he had a much bigger behind the scenes role in Hollywood (didn't he produce or direct a number of episodes of Taxi?). I know he passed away a few years ago, but not sure when. Anyhow, I saw him on so many television shows over the years (in character actor-type roles). I would have liked to seen him in some bigger roles.

  • Lol I'm 14 I have a video of this mike is sea sick

  • They're stealing my cannon! Wish Jack Sparrow said that instead. LOL

  • wheres mike? ):

    hes my favorite toooo

  • I'm guessing your favorite is Mike?

Mine's Peter, but mostly because one of my best friends is identical to him. XP

  • lol i love this song =]]]]]]]]]]]]

  • i love all the songs of the monkees.

    Are you a big fan???

  • I loooooooooooveeeeeeee The monkees !

  • that's not even Mike Nesmith's real hat :-)

  • how come mike wasnt in some episodes like this or that one where mickys on a diet?

  • Key: Mike was in the episode for a short period of time, but went to lie down because of "seasickness". Mike was absent from two other episodes because of a tonselectimy (sp?), I believe and there was another reason for a different episode that isn't coming to mind.

  • aww cute little davy!

i love this episode. i just spent hundreds of dollars on monkees memorabilia on ebay and i purchased the monkees dvds and this is one of my favorite episodes (and its davy's)

    thanks for posting this :)

  • This is truly an all time classic oldie!

  • The best part is that Peter pulls out a gun only to sword fight with it.

  • My favorite part of this romp is when Davy and the Pirate captain are sword fighting and Davy rips his sleeve and the captain throws down his sword in fustration and then Davy shrugs his shoulder. LOL its so adorable. How can you not laugh. I also love the way that certain point in the song they used to the firing cannons just at that certain point in Daydream Believer. It kind of enhanced the adventure of the romp.

  • Seriously if you have the DVDs and watch the whole episode you'll see that in the second scene Mike gets seasick. Actually what happens is they get a little seasick and Micky gives them seasick pills. Mike's the last to take one after Davy tells him to "have one" and then he starts to get really woozy and sways around and Davy tells him to "go below" and you don't see him for the rest of the episode except for the performance of Star Collector at the end.

  • Mike got Seasick LOL

  • Wheres Mike??

  • But Where Is Mike IN this Episode?????

  • damn! Micky makes one HOTT pirate!

  • simplypaulaaa is right!

  • Micky makes one HOT pirate!

  • This is probably my favorite episode! The song goes so well with the action. Love, love, love it!

  • They are stealing my canon....after them ...men!!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhh...I could hide with....the wind!!

  • I love this song. I was 4 or 5 when it came out in 1967 I remember going to Woolworth's with my sister to by the 45. And now I'm 45 and its stil one of my favorites. Rest in Peace John Stewart and thanks for this wonderful song.

  • micky<3

  • If only someone would play this song for me...

    Love the Monkees!

  • they r the best

  • this song rocks and is very satisfying to play on guitar

  • I can listen to this song over and over again without getting tired! One of my favorites!

  • OMG Davy sword fighting the Pirate captain( the late Chips Rafferty) is so freakin funny. How can anyone not laugh when Davy rips his sleeve with his sword and the pirate captain throws down his sword in disgust. LOL that's so hysterical.

  • brilliant, so simple but so good

  • i love this song

  • *fights back extreme urge to say something witty about "Davey Jones' Locker"*

  • wat ever happend to Mike Nesmith??

  • monkeys oqn

  • Reminds me of POC.

  • What's POC, please?

  • D'OH! I get it now! Pirates of the Caribbean!

I'm afraid you've got it all wrong, though! Pirates of the Caribbean is supposed to remind you of this video, NOT the other way around! LOL

  • Davy Jones, is my favourite Monkees. While I said to my daughter I like Davy Jones singing Daydream Believer than Lee Mead (a risig star in UK) singing the same song, she said, Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean? Ouch, that showed my age! Davy Jones to me is never POC!!!

  • no it is soo funny you just don't get it

  • Not too many youngsters appreciate the "old" stuff we were able to live through! ;)

  • Why would you say such a thing? Its redeeming quality was good, clean entertainment for young children back in the 1960's. That's one HECK of a redeeming quality! Just ask our parents! :)

  • People these days are just not used to this stuff anymore. =\

  • I think it's more or less just the KIDS who aren't used to this good stuff anymore! :)

  • haha indeed.

  • Hehe... Gernot, I'm 17 and think the Monkees OWN :)

  • They should have made a show like this with Weezer in it... back with the blue album.

  • Ya know what would have been really funny is if they had a continuous gag where they have a girl tied to the mast and each of the boys tries to rescue her and each time she slaps them lol. Yay Davy, Yay Micky and Peter, my heros. Too bad Mike got sea sick lol

  • good song

  • davy is the cutest pirate i ever seen

  • ur right, PrincessBlack, this IS Davy's favorite episode, i have it on the DVD titled "The Monkees Our Favorite Episodes" and he says so in the interview. this is one of my fave eps., too! thanx, blackstarkitten!

  • This is my favorite episode as well, the Monkees fight the pirates and save the day. Yaaaay Davy Yaaaaay Micky and Peter.

  • I like the part where Mike is the only one NOT seasick !

  • I am with you. It is one of the best scenes in the whole episode.

  • This isnt from the Monkees Marooned this is fom Hitting the High Seas. I know because not only do I have this on VHS, but Hitting the High Seas is Davy's favorite episode.

  • Gee, could Davy be cuter?

  • One of my favorite eps, all time.

  • Oh yes, they are the cutest pirates EVER. Especially Micky. ;)

  • I dunno. I always thought Gena Davis was a darned cute pirate! LOL
