  • Hope my hunt goes as good as yours did...

  • I'm using my CVA Apex .50 cal Muzzleloader right now for regular gun season in Michigan, looking forward to Muzzleloading season as well... I love black powder, using 777 and .50 cal Powerbelts this year....

  • Dude that was awesome! I felt your excitement man : )

I love that adrenaline rush when you see deer moving in, even better when you get a nice clean shot : )

  • great stuff dude..... WTG. Very cool to have them bed up next to you. You know your in the right spot when they feel comfortable enough to bed down.

  • Nice deer man! I hunt in MI too, around the border of Missaukee and Kalkaska counties. Seen a few so far this season, mostly doe though. Goodluck this season!

  • Great Michigan Hunting!

  • I live in souther lower Michigan but hunt a lot in the upper peninsula, near the little town of Ralph. I loved your video, gives me the itch to go up again. Your video is refreshing after seeing all the monster buck videos where they are paid to do their hunts and a so much is detracted from the hunt. Thanks for posting!!

  • holy shit stick....

  • Congratulations on that great buck. I like how you are grateful to God for the deer. Thanks for sharing your hunting experience & good luck this year.

  • Southwest Michigan Gives a Big Thumbs Up...Love the emotion!!!

  • good job on the filming, especially by yourself, i hunt near Manistee.Good luck this season!

  • 2:44 "HOLY SHIT STICK, HE'S DOWN, HE'S DOWN!" nice shot man.

  • That was sweet..Let's get together and do some more..I live in Eastbay Township In Traverse City..Great video.

  • nice, very hard to do, video and shoot, nice woods makes me wanna move to MI

  • @MrJSJr Yeah, alot of people underestimate michigan hunting but it has been really slow hunting because of the horrible winters we have had. last winter wasnt bad but the two before that just killed off a lot of deer.

  • thanks everyone for the good words. I deleted all the wacka PETA freaks comments. I really happy you enjoyed the vid and i hope you all have a wonderful season this year, only a few months away.

  • @pokyswift2 I so enjoyed the video of your harvest. I liked the way that you filmed the natural things that we as deer hunters see such as a doe bedding down, how they twitch their ears around being vigilant of their surroundings. And then, when you popped your buck. I am a west coast hunter in Calif. Our terrain here is pretty harsh where I hunt but never the less, when I viewed your hunt, I sure raised my fever! Good job! I really liked the way you gave honor to the Lord for your success.

  • @pokyswift2 is that in wayland

  • cool stuff

  • NICE! Good camera work too!

  • well done....

  • You got it done, nice goin...I know how difficult it can be to hunt and harvest let alone try to get it on camera by yourself, congrats.

That has to be one of the kulest Bucks I've seen...he sure has some great character to him and I know I would be glad to get a glimpse of him never mind get a harvest on vid...very nice work Chris!

    Thumbs up posting.

  • awesome lookin buck man.. n e idea wha he scored. .? gotta love those non-typicals !

  • Dude , the excitement in your voice shows you are a true hunter! Congrats on your kill.

  • You too! I also bought the Pro Hunter Encore, Glad you checked the rules, DNR can get nasty on ya. I also live in Michigan and went to the UP in real wilderness. If you get lost there your in trouble.

  • if you dont get as excited as this guy when you shoot a deer, you shouldnt be hunting.

  • @gungawats4din Yea, this guy is real! It sparks the excitement of hunting in us all. It's not like watching Outdoor channel where the people hunting are comp'd their hunts just to get the outfitter's name in the credits. This type of hunting and filming is for real!

  • What kind of powder are you shooting? No Smoke!

  • going to Michigan this year

  • great deer!

  • greatwhitetailhunter

You appear to be correct. There was a time when hunters orange was not required during the muzzleloader season. I remember watching segments of the old Michigan Outdoors show with Fred Trost where he would visit deer camps during the muzzle loader season and everyone was wearing traditional bucksins instead of modern hunting clothes. The few times I've been muzzle loader hunting, I've always worn hunters orange.

  • ya i think I remember seeing old Trost out whacking with no orange too. I think that changed like 4 years ago....maybe 5 but ya know.......

I have this problem too with when I get to my treestand I often seam to loose my hunter orange and I just cant seam to find it again till i'm out of my tree....lol....but It usually turn out that it was alot closer than I thought it was...like on my back between me and the tree...lol, no big deal my friend...good hunting, good deer, good luck.

  • I'm not going to hand ya in or anything but just wanted to let ya know incase some prick of a DNR officer sees this ya know. STILL a freaking cool looking buck

  • hahaha, shit stack!! that was funny.

  • nice job amigo

  • lol (holy shit stack!) Nice job taping it by yourself!

  • thats a buck bro, nice shot.

  • thats a mich buck for you!!! very nmice!!

  • nice video!

  • Dude awesome shot through the limbs there. You were 45min hike in, cold, windy, snowy conditions with tons of trees and filmed yourself and Used a muzzle loader on top of that ! Dude AWESOME .

  • nice shot man =]

  • nice shot bro, i just got my first buck a couple of days ago, he was a nine point

  • LOL....holly shit stick..lol...nice job...by the way...wheres the Hunter Orange.?

  • Hunters orange is not required during the Michigan muzzleloader season

  • Sorry but that is incorrect, Please check your rule book page 28. It will explain. I would hate to see ya get that ticket.

  • I already checked. There was a time when it was not required. I remember seeing guys dressed in traditional 1800s type garb during the muzzle loader season. I never get a chance to go since my tags are usually filled by them but this year I will give it a shot since I have a real nice new Encore.

  • i hunt in argyle, and the northeast corner, literally, of lapeer county, great deer huntin. btw, congrats
