TO FUCKIN' COOL I SAW THEM IN YBOR CITY TAMPA FLA THE DUDE STANLEY WAS A FUCKIN' MAD MAN , WHEN THEY STARTED WITH SOME FUCKIN' SHITASS STOLE MY MONEY THE PLACE WENT CRAZY!!!!!!!
@rlovato Then what is he in the American Noise video? Fake? C'mon, this character is a put-on... a brilliant one, but still a put-on like Tony Clifton. Andy Kaufman would spend days and weeks in that character and live his life. Chris Stann is a true artist who dedicated himself to his art, so no disrespect is intended. Even De Niro couldn't do what this guy did.
I went to a couple of their full blown rehearsals with a stage, engineer, lights etc., and not in our garage here. It was arena ready, and the sound was ridiculous. This is a very raw, and flat mix, as the room here was way sound proofed. Oh well, the legend will live on. ApB
LSD was awesome, I miss Stanley! Very talented musicians and Stanley was a great lyricist! Saw 'em live way back in the day before the release of the Silent Majority...
There were a bunch of unreleased tracks, and two were recorded at NRG. " Charlie's Still Alive, " (Manson), was one of them, and it was a grand production. Many of these recordings are in the hands of the individuals involved, and I last talked to Stanley about 7 years ago, as he'd called me here in Wisconsin. I used to run around with him back in the day, and it was always entertaining. ApB
Doesn't look like these boys are treating Stan too good, he needs some cool cats to surround him.... Man, the dude is a brilliant vocalist but things seem awry here!
If you want some rare LSD vids check out my profile. Excellent high quality vids. Also looking for other rare stuff by them-if you gots contact me asap.
Does anyone out there know if Stanley is even still with us? And of course the OTHER question that's been asked a zillion times over-"Was his persona all an act/gimmick for the band or ??"
My band opened up for them 92 or so, I love the cd at the time and listened to it constantly. I remember stanley smelling up the club and while they were doing thier awesome set , he came off the stage put money in a coke machine and drank the coke while everyone just starred a him in disbelief. Very Smelly dude. lol
PLEASE post more footage of this incredible band ! I saw them 4 times-twice for all ages twice for over 21 at the Thirsty Whale club. Met Stanley a few times, NICE guy but very smelly, very confused, it really wasn't an act as so many have said. He was a broken man, all he had was the stage to feel happy.
One of the worst bands ever but fun to watch. I remember that terrible video/song "tank" or "im a tank" idk, just garbage, but I used to laugh so hard.
You don't know what you're talking about. They were a great band who could play their asses off. Tank is an awesome pop/metal song but it just has a humorous premise. I think this whole thing was more like performance art, as if ANYBODY could do pop/metal...even with a homeless lead singer. They at least got a major label release. I probably like this mostly because I like Andy Kaufman type stuff.
i saw these guys in fla between ft myers and tampa somewhere.stanley was frightening.he launched loogies into the crowd.he was all tore up and unkept w/ duck tape holding his clothes & shoes on.a great fn show.the band sounded tuff and hardcore.loved it.thx for the video.
This was the lineup when LSD was preparing to do an album for Warners that never materialized and I think disbanded before the end of '94. Tommy (on the doubleneck) went on to form The Gingerbread Party. I don't know the fates of the others or Stanley for that matter. I do know: the shredded Gucci shirt he's wearing is the same one Stanley is seen in in an LSD interview from years earlier.
And it probably still hasn't been washed, to this day. :)
LSD without Alex Kane, ain't LSD, in my book. He's been leading a British punk group called Antiproduct for several years now. Evidently they were in Philly back on March 5. There are vids here on YouTube.
I'm afraid this is pretty much it from that period. I have the three original live takes we shot for this vid and I plan to post them as well. The band was concentrating on writing, and this was shot while the tracks were still 8 track demos and Warners had yet to drop their deal. I had begun storyboards for another song, "Human Bomb" - but we never shot any footage.
Estoy feliz que por fin gente como Ud. puede ver y disfrutar de mis "videos perdidos." Gracias por su interes.

As Kurt Vonnegut and a good buddy of mine, Bill Devine, said, we become what we pretend to be.
