@989lmao Some rabbits will bond when they are young but once they hit puberty most likely will start to become hormonal and their bond may break until you spay and neuter them
I love your videos but gosh... Putting them in a basket then shaking it???????? And puting them in a 1 by 1 cube??? You cant even do that with guinea pigs because its too small
@sarahc0121 Rabbits should never live in that small of space but when bonding, putting them in a small space for 15 min does not hurt them at all. I have done a lot of research on bonding.
@101rabbits Yes, I have done my research too. And I never came across your techniques. They cannot be put in a one by one cube because if they do decide to randomly fight, they have no space, neading to more contact with eachothers body. Which can be life threatning since the bunny being attack cannot get away.
When you bond rabbits, if after a couple of times of bonding and your rabbits seem fine together, is it ok to leave them overnight? Because some bonding videos say not to, when others say its ok to? Any help? :)
do rabbits still fight for teritory example somewhere that both rabbits have been and they where not bonded when they marked there teritory then but now will they fight eachover if bonded and if put in that otherplace
im really confused one minuite my rabbits are lying next to eachover and grooming and eating together and then i think to myself that finnaly they are bonded then 5 mins later one of them mounts the over and there both females both spayed and both alot bigger than your two help me please
I just got my bunny fixed and i got a new bunny that is a girl rabbit.. its been 3 days since simbas (my male rabbits fixing) Can i bond them now or should i wait?
@RayGirl0214 as long as you are sure your male is completely healed from his neuter then you can. You don't want him to damage anything. I would wait at least a week or two.
@TheVideoMaker8008 It depends. All rabbits who live together HAVE to be spayed and neutered. Sometimes after they get fixed they smell different and the bunnies have to be rebonded, but if you didn't fix them then once they hit puberty and get hormones they will fight and could kill each other.
@101rabbits I think the cage I have at the moment is 2x6. I'd probably get a 2x4 then but should I keep my current rabbit in it's normal cage or move her to the smaller one?
@101rabbits Ok thank you and one more thing please... my rabbit which I have at the moment has quite a large cage, would I have to get the new rabbit the same size cage or can it be smaller so I can save money? ;) thanks
@MeAndMyRabbits what cage does your bunny have right now? the minimum space for one rabbit is a 2x4 (2feetx4feet) I would get the new bunny a 2x4 (or bigger) NIC condo Or a metal dog exercise pen. The pet store cages are WAY to small for any rabbit big or small!
I have a 5month old female rabbit and we are thinking of adopting a male about the same age and size as her.
As i have a holiday soon and I'll be staying at home, I was thinking of getting him then and bonding my rabbit with him together. would I need to get a seperate cage for them both?
@MeAndMyRabbits yes, you would need to get a separate cage for him because there is a chance they will not bond and need to be separated forever or if it takes you 6months to bond them like it did with my bunnies you would need separate cages. also, make sure they are both spayed and neutered first or they will fight and could kill each other.
@101rabbits ohh, well thank youu soo much!(: im really glad that you even said they were getting along well, now hopefully i have have bonded pair of bunnies soon. mocha & lulu are soo cute. one of my bunnys name is mocha and the other cookie!!(: i love all of your videos and cant wait for more!!
please answer this so im trying to bond my rabbits i had one day of trying to bond and thats today, and i put them in the bathtub right away not small space.and they would always snuggle and lay together and one of my bunnys was grooming the other .so they were laying together for a while then. one of them is always trying to hump the other, and this is bad cause i put them in the cage for the 2 days part . but they dont fight all they do is hump should i try bathtub part again is there another
@MegsPetcare Humping isn't bad at all. Its actually good to let them do it so they can figure out, Who is boss, But if the humping becomes aggressive. like, biting, chasing etc, then stop them. so far it sounds like your bunnies are getting along great!
What if the bunnies are from the same litter and have never been separated? Do you still have to keep them in different cages and bond them like you did? Thanks.
@megabunnylover3 I was not trying to be mean. I apoligize if I did offend you. All I am saying is adopting is the BEST choice. You can adopt a rabbit that is about 4 weeks old and you will still have the little bunny you wanted. I'm really sorry, didn't mean to be mean. (: Bunnies are great animals. Have fun with your new bunny either way.
Thankyou for the useful and informative video. I have adopted a shelter bunny that I am going to be bonding this week and to be honest have been quite nervous about it, as there is not a lot of information out there. You have helped me to calm my nerves about the situation.
I love the idea of putting them on the washer and using the bathtub. Thanks!
so I want to get 2 rabbits a girl and a boy so they can mate and have babies can they live together or do they have to be in different cages? because I'm building a wood condo and we want 2 bunnies :)
@GuineaPigsAndRabbits well my family cant afford to go buy THOUSANDS of rabbits so we decided that it would be cute to have little baby bunnies. whats so messed up about little baby bunnies?
@megabunnylover3 Their are so many rabbits in shelters without homes because people breeding their bunnies and then decide they don't want them any more. I know you maybe won't get rid of them but still. All those bunnies in the shelters who are being put to sleep because no one will take them. If you adopted one, you would save another bunnies life. That's my opinion.
@101rabbits i wasnt trying to sound mean or heartless. im sorry if i offended you and GuineaPigsAndRabbits i just always wanted baby bunnies but i guess i'll reconsider. thanks for helping me know about this, it means a lot. is it ok to go adopt a 6 week old bunny and spade/nueter it when it gets older, then get another one? because i dont want my bunny to be lonely. my bunny nibbles died on new years eve alone, so thats why i was asking about the babies. im going to build a 3-4 story wood condo
I have a baby bunny about 5 months old and I also have his dad netheier of them our fix and the lady I bought them from said the dad would kill my baby bunny is that true or can I try bonding?
Great video!! I want to bond bunnies, it loos like fun! I am not very patient, so I don't know how you did it in 8 months! I would've given up within ONE month! :P But sadly, my parents wont let me get one, even after I presented a 21 slide powerpoint presentation! I learned most of my info. from your videos. You helped so much, thanks a lot for everything! I am STILL trying to get a bunny, and I continue to watch your videos daily. How did you get your first bunny? Please respond! :) :)
And an other one: Let's say that you already have a group of 4 rabbits, and you want to bond them with one or two new companions, you would do it by introducing them to the entire group or one of them at the time? because eight month it's a lot, you really patient btw.
these are males? right? the one with the ears up got an amazing beautiful coat, I'm pretty sure that the black stripes or spots are changing all the time, with mine it's every season.
@101rabbits I know I already commented, but I have a cementing question. Do you need to stay up with them for the whole 2 days? it kinda makes since though, because you need to make sure theres no fighting and stuff.
1 Yes! there will be tons of dominance issues other wise.
2 spaying is for girls ( takes out girl parts) and neutering is for boys ( takes out boy parts)
3 you should get them spayed/neutered around 6 months of age. but it also depends on what age your vet is comfortable with.
also, make sure you have a very good vet that is good with rabbits! it is very important so that they can do the operation correctly. :) hope this helped!
what if they are both very young like 8-10 weeks will that make a diference

And
How can I " cement" then because obviously me and my friend live about a road away from each other
