I remember as a child back in the 1940s...Uncle William Marshal, making his way across that Tobacco field at the crack of dawn. Singing "The Lord will Make a way Somehow" with a broad smile of hope on his face. When I took leave from the Navy in 1959 to attend his funeral at Moore's Creek Baptist Church. They sang his favorite song as tears rolled down our cheeks,both black and white.
Yes, they buried the closest I ever met in my life a real Saint. Oh, what he would think to be alive today.
