I only quickscope at very short range if i get surprised and then switch to the 44. Magnum to finish the guy off if i didnt kill him. Hardscoping and medium - long range is what you should be doing

in real war a sniper does not run in to die a sniper sits far away from the battle reports on what is going on to his commander

What u do on offense is get near the objective and pick off the defenders

you dant know what your talking about recon means support your team through reconosinse and report back to your team by spotting the enimes.

but i agree about the bolt action snipers and about the ump-45.

You should always "hardscope" in bf3. Dice purposely didn't want to put quickscoping in the game. Also you need to compensate for bullet drop. I liked how in the video you didn't try to seem like a know-it-all like a lot of other youtubers. Nice job.

once you get the straight pull back with a low power scope you really dont need the semi auto sniper rifles anymore. They are still fun to use but thats sort of the way i look at it

as for me most of the time im recon, 1st get the headshot, or not, 2th use bolt action (packs a harder punch) 3th try and spot enemy first then take the shot as fast as you can, or lens flare WILL kill you, 4th you need to leave your possistion after 1 or 2 shots or you are getting spotted and you are DEATH

i dont really care about quickscopes and stuff cuz thats for like call of duty and in real life such as killacominatcha your never going to quickscope. it might be possible but like 1 and 10000000000 chance but anyway i dont get why people are always fighting about scoping. nice vid by the way.

As both a cod and battlefield sniper it really does not matter if you hard scope or quick scope they are both tools to use and if you get more kills with hard scoping then that's what you want to do if you want to get good at quick scoping practice I am a quick scoper in cod but in battlefield I find the most success in hard scoping hope this helps you

Nice Video man. You kinda put out some false information Recon is a broad picture in recon you have sniper,urban sniper, counter sniper, reconnaissance, and all other type of stealthy stuff. Im a marine corp sniper and we are called recon. But once again nice video =)

Ive got some videos coming up showing the Recon class not using the rifles at all, because I think its the most underutilized class in the game, because to most people its either a bolt action rifle or bust.

Just been a little hectic these past few days, but there should be a new video up later today.

@JmanEspresso to answer your other question if you want to get good at close quarter combat with a bolt action all you have to do is get a scope thats not so powered and practice picking off target from close range then work your way up 12x ballistic scope.

you should always hardscope on BF3, because firstly its only ever a one shot headshot kill when the enemy is on full health and dice has put measures in to stop quickscoping like this to make it hard, however in co series i quickscope because, map sizes, amount of people and pace of play as its muchmore visable :)

Quick scoping is shooting at the instant the scope comes, up, so that you can still have the accuracy of a full scope, but still have the field of view of unscoped.

Shooting before you scope in is a no scope. Hardscoping is staying zoomed in then shooting, this is what you should do most of the time, but you will begin to act on instinct, after a while, you will noscope, drag scope hard scope and quick scope when appropriate. @Melee2Kil Ok good, I did think I knew what each term meant, just wanted to be sure.

I imagine most shots are a middle ground between a true quickscope and a true hardscope.. not neccessarily staying fully scoped in before taking the shot, but not shooting the exact time the scope comes up either.
