Having a wide angle lens is extremely beneficial for indoor shots. Lets say you're in the middle of a crowded bar and want to get a shot of two people having a discussion. If the angle is wide enough you can basically be right next to them and get them both in the shot. Even if you're just in an empty room and want to take a picture of something you might not be able to get far enough back to get everything you want in the shot if you're using something like say, a 50 mm.
@BassamAlharbi Compared to the Canon 10-22 the Tamron is worse. Look it up at Tamron Lens Review . com if you want. Rven though he likes Tamron he'll recommend the Canon.
Hello guys, ok im trying to figure out the main difference between having the standard 18-55 mm lens and just backing up to get the same shots as if I were closer to the subject with the 10-22 mm. Could someone please help, sorry im an idiot!!!
@TimH9eleven1 It's kinda like asking "Why get a telephoto lens when I could just run closer to the object?". You just don't always have the option. And the wide angle distorts the sides so It gives it a bit of an effect. Also different f/stop
@TimH9eleven1 Hi. There is a general misconception that a ultra wide angle lens' role is to allow the photographer to get more in the frame. Which is actually true, but the really creative point of an UWA is to get closer, to get into the action. Being physically in the middle of the action adds a little extra life to the shot or photo. A telephoto is never in its right if used to far away, even with a telephoto, going closer will get you a more emotional shot. UWA in particular.
The distroted sides look AMAZING!!!!

Hello guys, thanx for the video,
I'm confused between this lens and Tamron 10-24, the Tamron is much cheaper than canon, what do you think?

@SamWilber2 What's the point of wide angle lenses other than distorting the sides and getting more coverage? Great video btw.

@TimH9eleven1 The 18-55mm sucks. That's why. The 10-22mm is a very great budget wide angle lens.
