  • That's the title of the painting not the song

And not trying to be a now it all but I think it was originally spelled Greensleeues

    I may be mistaken

  • Genial!! :D

  • Encanto para mis oídos!!!!!

  • I think if lady greensleeves were here today, she would be delighted :)

  • omg is beutiful

  • best version, great... Interesting who was it lady in greensleeves ?

  • @SleepingOnTheMoon : Traditionally, it's held that Henry VIII wrote it or had it wrote about Anne Boleyn.

  • What's the painting called?

  • @Nutmegowns1 It's called "My Lady Greensleeves" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti

  • @WoiwodeDracula This song had always been called greensleeves,.. I don't know this artist but there is only one title

  • This is the original version, most versions you hear play a flattened 6th in the verse, the original has a natural sixth, its nice to hear it as it was original written.

    Thanks

  • Awsome I am saddened that I'm currently learning the What Child is This variation but only further differentiated as I am learing the greek counterpart.

  • the string part sounded almost identical with Vaughn-Williams version of Greensleves at some parts

  • feeric

  • I thought Gregorian Chant was monophonic plainchant without accompaniment...

  • @22015slee This is a group called "Gregorian" singing. They dress in robes and perform on spooky stages.

  • @smellincoffee

    u serious or trolling there?

  • @goemaeregert Smellincoffee is serious. Gregorian are an actual band, who "dress in robes and perform on spooky stages."

  • Wonderful!!

  • Masterpiece

  • respect!

  • Was this song written by Henry the VIII?

  • @Emcedric64 That is most popular theory of the many theories about the origin of this song. (And in my opinion the most romantic one too.) :-)

  • this song was written by king henry viii to his future queen, anne boleyn

  • @cranberrymac09 Thanks a lot!

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful music with us! Amazing!

  • The major third on "lover" is a gutsy move, yet so fitting. It gives the entire verse a dissonant feel that you remember through the song. I'm not sure it's for everybody, but I sure like it.

  • Pure old english epic...

    I fought with tears...

  • ogh my fuckin god! sorry about my language but this is the best! tune ever and it's 5 mins long!! with vocals

  • Einfach nur schön =)

  • Ja! Schoooooooooooon!!!!!

  • schoen :), better if you can write it as schön. Those dots are meaningless to us, but to them it's like a whole new letter. It's like writing grate when you mean great. The same goes for speaking. But stick with it!

  • You've got that right!
