  • You've inspired me :D

  • I find your photos stunning! But if I allow myself to ask? How much money have you spent on your equipment? Greetings from Germany

  • D300s and 18-55...are you serious?!

  • are those wireless triggers any good? They can't do (ETTL), right?

  • hey evan, been watching your videos since a long time now....this LENSE REVERSAL ADAPTOR, is it 52mm or 55mm???need to buy one...but not sure about the mm =S

  • @waqasyasin it depends on what lens you are using, a regular nikon 18-55mm would be 52mm. a Canon I THINK is 55mm but dont quote me on that

  • @PhotoExtremist hey thanx for the prompt reply dude, ur work is really awsome..it inspires me more everyday i watch it =) thanx for helping me out, i wasnt sure wat the KIT LENSE mm was =S thanx for helping me out...

i was using Sony a200 and it was 55mm...

anyhow, thanx alot again, your videos are really awsome...keep up the good work =)

  • can I use the same filters but for canon ? because canon's filters are super expensive !

  • @flqat0qamar yes of course, just make sure that the filter size of the filter matches the filter size of your lens

  • what is the name of the adapter ring please .... help me............

  • @Rebasandofronteras Links to all products are listed in the video's description.

  • please some more info about the diy panorama tripod head and how you shoot with it! thx

  • I have a question about the wireless triggers. SInce I'm using a D90 and a SB-600, would I be able to fire my speedlight wireless if it was off camera with just a radio trigger on the camera, or would I need a dedicated flash already on top of the camera connected to a trigger in order for the off camera flash to go off?

  • @superkawaii89 You don't need a dedicated flash on top of your camera and then another one off-camera. All you need is to slide in the RF-602 Transceiver on top of the camera, and then the RF-602 Receiver on the bottom of your off-camera flash and it works.

  • @PhotoExtremist Ohhh ok. Now I understand! Thank you! :)

  • I was told that reversing the lens would actually put dust into the camera and the lens and end up actually costing more to clean out the camera/lens. I'm on a very low budget, have a canon xsi with the 18-55mm and the telephoto lens it came with... but am very interested in finding a macro lens maybe for portraits? Would using the lens adapter reverser lens ruin my lens?

also, do you know of any macro lens that is under $100? thanks!

  • @nomodoughfoo I don't see why it would do that unless the lens was dirty. Haven't researched macro lenses too much yet but I doubt there are any ones worth getting that are 100 dollars or less.

  • @nomodoughfoo im a nikon user, and there are macro lenses like 60mm and this lens is around 900$ in my country. you dont use a macro lens for portraits , you use prime lenses like the 50mm or 35mm,everyone should have this lens in their camera bag. and this lens is really cheap, since your camera has a AF motor, you can buy a 50mm without AF-S, so it's not a lens with auto focus motor, but because of your camera you can auto focus.

  • I'm new to photography. I'm 13 and I don't think I will be able to ever know all the photography terms either. And what kin of lenses to use. I was just wondering if there are different sizes for filters. I want filters that will fit on my Nikon D3100 that I might get for Christmas. I want that revers ring that you were talking about. Would that be necessary if I was going to get a Macro lens? And which one is better. A reverse ring or a macro lens. Are their different sizes for reverse rings?

  • @KyleHarrelson I remember asking the same exact questions. There are different sized filters that fit on different sized lenses. Macro lens is better but more expensive. The reverser ring screws on the front of the lens where a filter would normally be, so if you want a reverser ring, you will need it to match the filter size of your lens. The filter size on the lens I was using was 52mm.

  • @PhotoExtremist Thank you!!! and when it say 18-55mm lens what does that mean? can i still have a 52mm filter on that?

  • @KyleHarrelson Basically there is the "focal length" of the filter, which tells you how far the lens is "zoom in": 18mm is zoomed out to wide angle, and 55mm is zoomed in. Then there is the "filter size" of the lens, this is completely different than the "focal length". The "filter size" just tells you what size filter you can screw on the front of the lens. So if the lens had a filter size of 52mm, that would mean you can screw on a filter (or lens reverser) that had a diameter of 52mm.

  • Do you have any suggestions for what to buy for lights? I currently use the SB600 flash, but I want to start experimenting with more off camera lighting w/ softboxes and stuff. I'm only a hobbyist, so I don't need anything great, but I also don't know what I should be looking for (ie, what's junk and what's not junk). If you have any tips I'd really appreciate it :)

  • You my friend are probably the most successful photographer i have seen on youtube that also does tutorials!

  • 0:58 show off =P...

  • Thank you for the reply :) I'll buy this ND400?

And can i buy 52mm filter but put it to my 18-105mm which is 67mm with some... stuff (i cant remember how call them :/)

  • @extraslava that would be a "step-down ring". I would just buy a 67mm filter if you are putting it on a 67mm lens.

  • Do I have to shoot at 30s with ND400 or I can and at 10 or 5sec, for example?

Cuz sometimes I don't want to blur so much the water?

    Thank you :)

  • @extraslava you can still do 10 seconds and 5 seconds.

  • @photoextremist I saw man, tis a good lens and i hope youre enjoying it :3 i was just teasing a little

  • I was going to say that too, glass before body man ;3

  • @Kenjis9965 Ya ya, I just got a new Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 to replace my old 18-55. I'll still use the 18-55 for 360 panos and IR shots though

  • You should invest in some good glass...

  • @toodietoodieomg I just got the Sigma 17-50mm 2.8

  • "What all I have..." Done.

  • i'm ordering that lens reversal thing RIGHT NOW

  • Thank U so Much Dude Amazing vl hope u'll teach us more

  • I saw some of your video and its awesome! i bought me a Nikon D3100 as a starter, i have a question. what kind of wireless shutter are you using and can you still use a external flash like SB600 if you use a wireless shutter? Thanks

  • @jimvuraot04 Yes you can use a remote flash with a wireless shutter. I'm using an RF-602 as a wireless shutter for my Nikon d300s

  • @PhotoExtremist but can you use both flash and shutter at the same time ?

  • u have some great pics.let me make a suggestion us that 2.8 tokina it is not just for zoom it is a low light king at 2.8

  • With all due respect, why do you have such an amazing, professional body (D300s) but such a rubbish, amateur primary lens? It just seems a bit odd to me... Good video though.

  • @TIRanald That's a good question and something that I forgot to warn against in the video itself. The 18-55 I am using is an ED lens (so it corrects chromatic aberration) but doesn't have VR. The new Nikon 18-55 lens has VR but no ED apparently. A better lens than both of these would be the Sigma 17-50 2.8. It's supposed to be very sharp + VR. Other than that though, it's mainly because I am too lazy to spend all the money on expensive lenses and I can make way with what I am using right now.

  • @TIRanald and also, the photographer makes the camera (or lens) it's not the other way around, It's great to hav good equipmen, but it's not exclusively whta the results depend on, if you're creative, you can make usea of pretty much anything! :)

  • @BlackArmy6 yes

  • 360 degree panoramic stuff, man you are extreme indeed its the 1st time I heard that well im a newbie

  • you seem like a very nice guy and good photographer, you have a unique approach to your photos... ( apple with smoke etc..) Why act like a dick with your comments on your other account xybertech or w/e ? I enjoyed your tutorial videos, keep it up man, hope you stop hating on nikon so much =P

  • @ecyor7 Haha, that wasn't my account. Xybertech stole that video after I took it down and re-uploaded it to his account. I wasn't hating on Nikon as much as I was in DSLRs in general - and I found that video to be kind of funny and left it up just to get traffic to my site but then later made him take it down when I saw everyone was posting HARDCORE hate comments - it was giving me a false/bad image!

  • Are you working as a Professional photographer?

  • @patsosas I do jobs on occasion, but I am not the regular full-time photographer like you see in the phonebooks or anything like that

  • Great video. Nice kit and good descriptions of the stuff.

  • Thanks for sharing this video! From what I've seen with your photography, your lenses work just great. I would like to get myself a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T2i, just got it around Christmas and being a college student, I haven't had much time with it. However, since I've always been in to photography, I hope to get more time with it. FYI, your photography tricks e-book is awesome. Thanks again for sharing your equipment list.

  • Nice one! Really cool, and pretty suprised that you only have cheap lenses ;)

Heading over to part 2 now.

  • @johanneswingerlang I know right? haha, I probably should get better ones but just havn't really cared about it too much, I'll probably get good lenses when I get a full-frame camera. Having a crop frame camera kinda feels like a temporary thing...

  • Just... Pure... Awesome! Hoping to pick up a T2i. How are your Nikons compared to that? Still trying to decide on a DSLR.

  • @SpazztikNinjaFilms Thanks! I literally spent 2 full days making this video, editing it, and making that list LOL, and I really don't know a lot about camera's, I just research the current ones on the market when I need to upgrade to something better. The T2i, from what I VAGUELY remember, is similar to the D300s so it's probably pretty cool :)

  • @PhotoExtremist are you a nikon guy, u prefer canon, just an opinion. will all this stuff work with a 600d/t3i

  • @SpazztikNinjaFilms

Take a look at snapsort (.) com / compare and u can compare any camera with any camera ;)

  • @krqkan At the top of the DSLR page on Snapsort is the T2i vs the D5000 :D Still got a while before I can afford either, so I have time to decide.
