  • well u better make sure that u are straped in tighter before u take off

  • Dang dude that was frekin awsome

  • Holy cow i dont think my lap belt is secured

  • EPIC

  • 0:48 How do they do that without losing altitude?

  • @UndeadInsanity Rudder, compensate for the loss of lift.

  • @MrCameronBosco aah. So he doesn't use his ailerons?

  • @UndeadInsanity No, when rolling with your ailerons you will want to use rudder (Normally trying to pull your nose up)

  • 1:10 is the best moment of all!! (I wonder if the pilot got told something, because he looks like he is giving the finger to another plane)

  • 1:20 oh that pesky High Southwest...

  • Solos are awesome the guy under me is a gypsy!

  • Solos are gay...and isn't the guy falling out of the seat belt an Astronaut or something now??

  • Is a fail on a check ride with the IRE?

  • that dude was in the first row along with chuck norris when god distributed balls

  • 0:43 is hilarious. Something just fell off the jet, he looks at it, shrugs, then tosses it behind him. XD

  • @SoaringEagle2005 lol ikr

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS FN'SWEET!!!

  • I believe the sign at 1:20 is him giving the bird, when all the papers falls on to the cockpit, the #6 pilot said, "nice yard sale." the opposing solo saw it all.

  • this and the navys "magic carpet ride" video are some of the best videos on youtube

  • its a sign not the bird

  • 100 feet AGL ,around 400 knots ,INVERTED in formation and flipping the bird now that's showmanship

  • UMMMM yeah he wan't flipping the bird he was giving a signal wh his thumb and forefinger

  • r u being sarcastic? u can cleary see him sticking the middle finger if u pause it at 1:21

  • i'm pretty sure that wasn't the bird. It was more of his thumb and forefinger.. o.O..

  • pause it at 1:20

  • @tomcatpilot13 wouldnt he be flipping himself off then seeing how he used his left hand? ever think of that.. that sign he did was telling the opposing solo man that they're at show center...

  • r u retarded or blind. how can the opposing solo see the sign wen his above him he cant see it. and they dont need signs becuz they use something called a radio during ther performance.

  • @tomcatpilot13 they use a combination of signs... there is no guarantee that radios wont go out in mid flight.. Number 6 is always watching number 5 when in combined solo routines like reflection passes.. its a safety precaution.. if you don't believe me next time you see them at a airshow ask them yourself

  • @Crayola076 ok so tell me what the sign is at 1:20 and who is he showing it to?

  • @tomcatpilot13 Im not saying your wrong buddy.. Im just saying it could be other things like a hand sign.. btw if your trying to get at the idea of the other plane is above him.. hes above him for a split second before he moves at his level.. both pilots have a clear line of sight of one another

  • @Crayola076 when he flashes the "sign" the other pilot cant see it because his not flying level with him ...you can tell by the smoke which is clearly not level with his. this is the reflection pass btw so they have no view of each other

  • @tomcatpilot13 apparently you didnt read my entire comment.. i didnt say you were wrong.. he could well be flipping him off.. im just saying consider the alternatives.. signs are made when in the reflection pass.. just because the smoke is above doesnt mean that distance between both aircraft isnt far enough for one pilot to still be able to see the canopy.. as for this subject im done with it.. post whatever reply you want..

  • @tomcatpilot13 oh btw now that i think about it.. if the one pilot flipped him off... why did he do it.. its not like the guy can see the mess on his canopy.. or the bird to begin with.. you see the giant hole in your accusation?

  • Its blatantly obvious that he's giving him the bird and Im fairly sure he wouldn't be doin it unless #6 could see him... don't hurt yourselves trying to think too hard

  • @Crayola076 He has to use his left hand to flip him off .....his right hand is on the stick

  • @tomcatpilot13 Yea i know but also notice the thumb is extended also creating a backward L because he and the other solo ( number 6) are performing the calypso pass where number 5 flies inverted and six flies normally and as they pass show center they appear to be right over each other

  • @blueagle84 so ur saying u never seen someone give the bird while ther thumb is extended? and if ur saying its a sign..who is he showing it to? #6 cant see it becuz #5 is inverted

  • @blueagle84 thats it the calypso pass... not the reflection.. thats what the sign was for

  • foreign object damage occurs outside the aircraft retard ask any pilot they will tell u the same thing you paintchip eatin motherfucker

  • LOVE IT

  • I was there on the first day (Saturday) it was cool, wasn't it?

  • I like when the guy keeps smacking his head into the canopy cause of his lapbelt..funny!

  • LMFAO 1:20

  • lol, stuff kept falling on the top of the canopy when the were invirted and the pilots were like, wtf is this stuff, no idea. LOL!

  • whats this song called

  • song 2 by blur

  • lmao@1:41 u gotta secure that shit down!

  • POINT

  • ok a f16 cost what 80m? and a f22 cost 500m? why not spend your money on upgrading what they have rather than spend piles and piles of money

  • cpdusmcdst9 Sir FOD is in the air craft dumb-ass, also the F-22 will not take the place of the F-16s or the F-15s cos it has been canceled by Obamas Administration , No money to buy them,Man you are a Moron...lol...

  • lol 0:41 "wtf is this"

  • haaaa i love this

  • The FOD issue is common in all fighter aircraft.

The lapbelt scene at the end on the other hand is a new problem. It looks funny when the lapbelt came undone but a military pilot from Canada crashed his jet not long ago when the same thing happened during a training flight. An investigation has shown that the Lap Belt used in both the F-16 and the Canadian CT-114 is failing due to problems with the latch assembly. Canada has since grounded the aircraft until the problem is solved.

  • 0:30 LOL

  • Hey, Can I bum one of them newports when you land?-----(1:40)

  • where did u get that?

  • 0:39 lol

  • what song is that?

  • song 2 blur

  • omg he forgot his lapbelts

  • yeah i see them too!! what is the songs?

  • w0ow.! i went to see them yesterday here @ Puerto Rico.! xD it was great.!

  • That is a sick video

  • at 1:44 is that move were they stall engines and spin as there falling?

  • No, the F-16 is still in a vertical climb executing aileron rolls. I believe that maneuver is done at full military (non-afterburner) power

  • such skills! Awesome!

  • He was eating a tootsie pop the whole time!! LMAO!

  • Its Song 2, by blur

  • Woohoo by Blur

  • hey, whats the song title of this music??? im trying to find it

  • Comment removed

  • It would be very easy to find something that you lost on the ground.

  • haha... i was laughing my ass off @ 01:15

  • me too. He flips the guy off too. I wonder if the guy from the other plane put that there as a joke or if he said something to him

  • Thats just common FOD in the cockpit, although it is more than normal. I think the pilot just noticed it and flicked that off because the pilots cannot see each other in that maneuver.

  • Ummm thats not common, common fod are screws etc, small stuff, all those papers are practical jokes, there is even a MAXI PAD in one shot, yes thats dangerous, but these pilots know their buddies fly with composure and dont get rattled too easy.

  • lol, he needs to secure his loose items

  • do you get dizzy

  • hey wilbur, are you allowed to eat on a fighter jet or it's against the air force policy

  • I'm pretty sure AF policy allows In-N-Out Burgers... and Tootsie Roll Pops. -wilbur

  • hauhauahuah no life-belts secured ahuahuahauhauah

  • its lap belt dude not life belt hahaha

  • What is the name of this song ?

  • song 2 blur

  • Thanks...

  • do the thunderbirds wear G-suits?

  • Yes they do. They pull more G's than the typical F-16 pilot so it is required.

  • I dunno about the thunderbirds but the blue angels do NOT wear G-Suits becasue the inflation of the suit could move their wrist and cause them to screw up and they fly at such tight tollerences that they can not afford to have any movement. Part of their requirements for acceptance are withstanding max G's without a G-Suit, they get tested twice a year on it.

  • United States Air Force Thunderbirds wear blue g-suits.

That is what I found about the Thunderbirds, that was from the last two years (2007-2008) All I know about is the Air Force because that is what I'll be doing real soon, and I don't waste my time learning about the other services!! (jokingly of course :D)

  • F18's also have a center stick; the pilots rest their forearm on their thigh to stabilize their control inputs. Every time the g-suit inflates it would cause unwanted control inputs. control sticks on F-16s are on the right side, so g-suits are not a problem

  • Its a Fighter or a Supermarket ???

    Thats crazy !!!!

    Nice Video

  • hahaha love the yard sale at a 1:16

  • LOL! haha, practically is. He just gives it the bird...priceless.

  • Lol @ the end

  • wat is fod in cockpit ??

  • Foreign Object Debris.

  • haha 0:40 he's just like "WTF?"

  • I love this video... during the McChord AFB Air Expo in July of this year I captured a couple of shots of debris on the canopy during the inverted passes by the #5 pilot that made me think of this video. :)

  • Awesome, I've always wanted to get a shot of that, do you have them posted anywhere?

  • it's not solo if there are others flying with the pilot. such as 0:25

  • "Solo" does not necessarily always mean solo, like people think. It's confusing.

  • The T-birds (like the Blue Angels) have two solo pilots who do opposing passes as well as some "unique" formation passes. This is done while the Diamond formation sets up for their passes.

  • Ha, thanks for clearing that up! and not being an asshole about it! There still are a few decent people on the internet.

  • haha 0:40

  • hey wibur i heard that you are flying the albatross with another thunderbird nice job on the calypso pass. you shuld do a l-39 thunderbird show

  • holy cow i dont think my lap belt is secure lol!

  • whats the title of the song?

  • blur-song 2

  • Balls to the wall boys

  • This is the best video I have seen in a long time,...

To the pilot: You, my friend, are awesome.

  • Coolest video ever

  • super video

  • 5+++++

  • The ct-114 tutor is a cessna compared to the f-16. i like to see a tutor do a 500 knot vertical climb or do a 360 degree 9 g turn.

  • Nice video, the soloists are the best! And is there such a thing as someone being too tall to fly an airplane, for any aircraft?

  • yeh you can be tall for fighter jets, no idea about airliners, dont worry the limit is quite for high still for fighter jets

  • Do you know how tall? Cause I got a friend who's 13 and 6 feet tall... lol.

  • i think around 6"4' however it depends on the plane, the back seat of the tornado for example doesnt accomodate anyone over 6"2' but the typhoon can take prince phillipe of spain and hes huge so i think your pal is fine for the moment

  • Lol k, thanks.

  • LOL tbird solo...this video never gets old. I have a feeling it will continue to stand the test of time. Long live Phase II and all shit hot SOLO's! You're still "The King of the Slow Roll" my friend.

  • What's that thing @ 1:59?

    A straw or something?

  • I think it's a sucker or just some little snack he was having during a trip to the tanker. That's my guess;)

  • I was going to apply for a slot, but I don't have enough hours at this time. Almost there!

  • This is just the best damn video that I've seen out there. The song is perfect as well. Espacially how the tune complements certain movements of the jet and pilot. I love this one!!!

  • hahaha, love from 2:05-the end hahaha

  • @1HEXJUMPER: You're a moron and not worth anyone's time...

@Tbirdsolo: You're just as cool, calm and collected in your replies as you are in the air bro!!! Hope to see ya soon 'ol friend. /LD

  • tbirdsolo is flying as the leader for patriots, the slot pilot is another former thunderbirds pilot

  • they should tidy up their planes in every roll something flyes around ^^

  • effin crazy is what that is... how many licks does it take to pull a G-----eeeeeeeezus!!

    Bad ASS video

    ;P

  • lol who was that with the lap belt thats so good!

  • yeah, seriously, who's in the back of the two-seater?

  • lol

  • i think he said it was the flight surgeon

  • I don't think my lap belt's secured. XD

  • what song is this

  • this is one of the best vidieos ever!

  • Song 2

  • wat is he eating at the end

  • It looks like the remains of a toostie pop.

  • lolly pop

  • whats the white stick thing at the end with crap on it? im thinking its something to do with not throwing up but idk.

  • Oops! Sorry, i just read the 'term of use' in youtube! i Can't download it... so sorry! my mistake... i just email the link then to my friends... Sorry.

  • Great clip!and the song... Perfect!! and Yes when i give this vid link my friends in Indonesian airforce said 'so funny! and it happened to them too' not a problems... anyway, permission to download this clip sir!? if i have yours. if not i just put it on my bookmark. 5stars! vid alltheway!. Thanks and Godbless.

  • Gotta love the FOD

  • lol thats great 1:20 He's doing some gesture. It's great.

  • I think he is just pointing at his "ejected" stuff. But yes, we can interpret it that way :D

  • whats with the hand gesture at 1:20???? its like hes swearing at someone xD

  • he's letting the number 6 plane know he's ready on show center.

  • It's the "loser"-sign. Someone muttered something about a yard-sale... ;)

  • with all the stuff hitting the canopy reminds me of the opening scene of Hot Shots when they flip it upside down and the cards hit the canopy

  • What is with all the crap hitting the canopy. lol Don't they have a place for that stuff.

  • They do : in the canopy. Come on man, it's fun XD

  • your right. It would be funny as hell if it smacked him in the head. "Smoke on ready (pow) OW what the f***!

  • XD

When the air force guys make jokes, they make good ones. I love the Air Force

  • who doesn't?

  • Hippies and other people who think wars only bring death. (They do, but they also bring peace and order)

  • the name of song is "song 2" by Blur

  • hey man can you tell us what is the name of the song?

  • Woohoo by Blur

  • thanks man

  • The F-16's a superior airshow jet to the A-model Hornet, based on acceleration and turn rate. It's too bad the Thunderbirds don't take advantage of the fact.

  • "It doesn't get any better then that".

  • yes it does, being in the Angels

  • LMAO- Now thats funny, As I recall a year ago they lost a jet and well know pilot,in a live exhibition/show.

Now if you ask me thats no better and or not even in the same league as the T-birds but thats just my 2-cents.

  • Ughhhhhh. In airshow history, the Thunderbirds have had 17 accidents either with a solo or multiple aircraft. The Angels have had 6 and the Thunderbirds were activated 7 years AFTER the Angels. I find that rather embarrasing for the AF that the NAVY had a demo squadron before them, and any other armed service branch for that matter. The AF did have the Acrojets before the Thunderbirds, but they still came 3 years after the Angels too.

  • Get your facts straight. Both teams have suffered losses, but considering each team has flown between 4-5,000 air shows to date and some 15-20,000 practice shows, both teams have a really good safety record.

During its history 26 Blue Angels pilots have been killed in air show or training accidents (8 of them during shows).

20 Thunderbird pilots have perished in jet accidents during air shows and training (2 of them during shows).

  • The Angels' formations are tighter than the T-Birds' and the Angels push their planes to the limit every time they go up, taking their planes to the breaking point and back. The T-Birds hardly push their planes that far. The Angels have more airshow routines than the Thunderbirds and the Angels also are the only team with a C-130 I think. The Angels can also convert their jets to be combat ready (switch parts, repaint, and test) in 3 days.

  • Yeah man no doubt the angels are highly skilled at what they do, all military combat pilots are in there own unique way.

I just prefer the lawn-dart over the F/A,and both platforms has there pluses and minuses.

Honestly the Navy probably has the best damn pilots this world has ever seen...

-Thanks for your positive insight,my old man is a retired airmen thats also why I have a lot of love for the lawn-dart...

  • It's funny how the Mig 25 & Mig 29 look a lot like the F-15 and F- 18. The Russian ATOL sidewinder is a cheap copy of the American Aim 9 sidewinder. Need I say more.

  • must be the best job in the world!!!!!!!!

    I Love jets!:)

  • Holy cow I dont think my lap belt secured jjajajajaja

  • great hahaha. what's the name of the song?

  • song 2 by blur
