  • This video is a favorite on Panama

  • Your vid is popular on Malabo

  • how mush is it and to install it? and where could i get one if you don't mind

  • Dam Sounds perfect! I wish my 4.2l Stx could sound like that! Any Advice on what I could do? lol

  • @MrJimbob18 Engine swap

  • How much does the programmer help with performance? i have the exact same truck with magna flow cat back exhaust. I'm getting a k&n, and some headers. Idk which headers to go with either

  • @stinkyfarts445 I had all those mods, and the Gryphon programmer made it feel like a new truck. No doubt.

  • how do you get that computer thing?i want one lol

  • i have an edge for my 06 f150 what setting and shift points do you have it set on for 87 octane i also have 35inch tires and 6 in procomp lift thanks

  • @rambomayne my shift points would be accurate for you considering you don't have a custom tune or the performance upgrades to go with

  • Nice sound! Trying to decide between the 14" oval body Magnaflow or picking up a 14" round Magnapack. Hows the drone while driving at freeway speeds? (Tough to tell in a video).

  • @MCP2002 I now wish I had gone with the Magnapacks, so it'd be a little louder. The highway drone isn't bad at all, but then again, I've had the setup for over a year and have certainly gotten used to it. My tires used to have a hum to them, but now I can't hear the tires over the exhaust. The oval mufflers "broke in" and got louder over time. Depends on what you're going for, keep in mind I also removed the rear cats (04-05 have 2 sets of cats), so that made it louder as well.

  • @nwrdesign Thanks for the response! My biggest concern with the drone is the fact my wife and two little kids will be in the car with me on trips. I have a 2010 F150 so I have somewhat high-flow cats as stock so I am worried this would perpetuate the drone. I really like the sound of the Magnaflow #12198 ad the Magnapack but I just don't want to make a mistake and get the wrong system. I have been looking at the Corsa Db Performance system as well.

  • @MCP2002 I hear ya (pun intended) I actually worked on my exhaust in steps, which may have cost a little more in the long run, but I was able to achieve the sound I was looking for without risking "overdoing" it from the get-go. The first thing I did was just replace the stock muffler with a Maggie, I let that get broke in and it sounded great, but I wanted a little more and went true dual, replacing the Y with an X pipe and adding a 2nd Maggie. Finally cut out the rear cats. Might be worth try?

  • @nwrdesign Might not be a bad idea. The setup I was looking at is the Magnaflow 12198 (SI/DO) with mandrel bent SS pipes and 18" Maggie tips. I found a shop in my area that can do the entire job for about $400 out the door. Just hope it is not a little much sound wise. lol I was also considering the Corsa Db system Si/SO which apparently has no drone whatsoever but really good sound....albeit quite a bit quieter than the Maggie option I imagine.

  • Nice sound! Trying to decide between the 14" oval body Magnaflow or picking up a 145" round Magnapack. Hows the drone while driving at freeway speeds? (Tough to tell in a video).

  • Do you have the part #s for the mufflers you used?

  • @socomplicating been a few year, but they're 14" oval 2.5" in/out offset/offset

  • did the programer make a very big difference? reason for me asking i have the same truck with same engine and was wanting a opinion on the edge product for the ford 4.6L before i purchased one

  • @trevorthompson6 yes, it was like driving a new truck, but if you have any modifications, such as cold air intake, exhaust, etc, you're going to want to get a custom tuned programmer to accommodate, running a "canned" tune on a modified truck can damage your engine.

  • im confused here.. the programmer looks just like the edge evolution. so i mean is it? or is it something different?

  • @Wi11DuBeast it's a Gryphon from phptune.com, they take the Edge Evolution, re-case it and write custom tunes for it. It's WAY different than an Edge Evo, which accommodates for my exhaust, intake, underdrive pulleys etc.

  • Hey i have a 2004 4.6 xl triton...i have almost everything exterior done to it i want like 20 in rims with falken racing tires, chrome door handles, chrome front and back lights, chrome bumpers, even a chrome gas tank cover lol...the truck looks amazing but i wanna start tuning the engine...i understand what ya mean with the lack of power cause the governor cuts me off at a 100 or so. im wondering whats the best air intake, exaust, headers, tuner chips, everything...thanks

  • @JFMarine43 id go for a edge product for programer. and maybe a K&H intake system.

  • @Wi11DuBeast you DO NOT want to combine an Edge with an intake. Ford's come from the factory running a little lean already, combining an Edge Evo and their "canned" tunes with a CAI could result in your engine running VERY lean and potentially damaging your engine. If you have/want a CAI, you'll need custom tunes, such as from phptune.com, or a programmer that will accommodate the CAI in their tune.

  • I have the same programmer on my 04 4.6 f150, and it made a hell of a difference. Could you note an even better change in performance when you converted from the edge tuning to Gryphon. The main difference I like is the change of the factory shift points. My truck was slow as hell with the factory settings, and now it is like a new truck.

  • Is your check engine light on with the cats deleted

  • @huskerrunner11 see below, already discussed

  • Don't take offense to this but I was just wondering, why not start off with the 5.4 you will have more power. And then do the mods.

  • @TucksAndSkis if you knew what I paid for it back in Feb. 05 with only 1,300 miles on it, you'd understand.

  • @nwrdesign Oh okay I understand, I was just wondering if the 4.6L has more tuning capability.

  • @nwrdesign I just bought a 2010 4.6 with 2,500 miles on it. I understand. lol

  • @TucksAndSkis Gas is expensive man

  • how is the 4.6 compared to the 5.4 performance wise? i'd like to get an f150 but the only ones in my price range are the stx 4.6 reg cab. my dad has a 5.4 with a few bolt ons and its pretty peppy, i've heard the 4.6 is pretty weak. i'll probably just wait and get a 5.4.

  • @NissanTy

Allot of people complain about the 4.6 being slow, but there is a bit of a secret. Without a long explanation, just click Over Drive OFF and you'll see the truck just come alive! I've got an '07 STX 4x4 and in regular mode it shifts quick, and has conservative throttle response for gas mileage. But once you click O/D Off, the throttle response is instant, and the shifts are longer. And that's on a completely stock truck that's surprised quite a few other drivers at stop lights...

  • @dmcvegas i drove a superchips tuned 4.6 with a flowmaster dual exhaust before, that thing really surprised me, just tap on the throttle and that damn thing wanted to go.

  • @dmcvegas haha i agree a 2002 chevy 2500 wanted to race me and i smoked him off the line... i sat there and spun for a second too lol

  • @dmcvegas I just got a 2010 STX 4X4. I'll have to try that....

  • aweseom where are they located? an how much it cost

  • @napster0420 Winder, GA and it was around $80

  • @nwrdesign wow i live in ga to

  • how did u get your splash screen to say ford racing or did it come like that?

  • @napster0420 in the software provided by PHP, you can change out your splash screen.

  • @nwrdesign im thinking of sending in my edge , was it worth it? what was the turn around time?

  • @napster0420 DEFINITELY worth it. Bill custom tuned my Gryphon to accommodate for all of my other engine modifications, exhaust, cold air intake, underdrive pulleys etc. Turn around for me was same day, I had mine done on site in Winder, GA

  • @nwrdesign so you just ordered it as a gryphon you didnt send your edge in/>?

  • @nwrdesign winder huh, im from monroe

  • @napster0420 no, I had an edge and drove up there and they converted it over to a Gryphon for me. It was like getting a new truck!

  • Hi how did u remove your cats ? did u get a o2 simulator

  • @napster0420 I removed the two rear cats, the O2 sensors are in front of the rear cats, so they were fine. I live in a warm enough climate that they can't tell the temp difference and don't set off a CEL.

  • sounds like my crown vic.

  • i have a edge for my 05 f150 how do i make it a gryphon?

  • Sounds real nice,I like how it sounds at idle, not too loud, but not to too quiet.

  • @maryland77 I certainly appreciate it. I still love it!

  • how big a difference in mpg did you have with these mods i have 2002 f150 want to get duals myself but wondering if its woth it love the sound of yours by the way

  • mpg went up around 1mpg, maybe 2. I'll have to warn you, when you get a setup as sweet as this, the first few months, your gas mileage is going to go down cause you're going to have HFS (Heavy Foot Syndrome), ha. :)

  • i could only imagine the feeling you get when you throttle down on that thing thanx for the reply

  • im not gonna lie... im pretty Jealous haha

  • I guess some consider the straight-through mufflers to be singe chamber, to each his own. I was just confused bc in your other vids you included the muffler part # and when I looked it up I seen they were the straight-through style so when I seen single chamber in your description of that video I wondered if you swapped them out and never heard of a maggie single chamber.

  • I thought maggies were considered straight-through mufflers and a chambered muffler regardless of how many chambers would have some sort of baffles like a flowmaster. Also, I am very well aware that magnaflow makes an xl 3 chamber as my brother has that on his truck. I just thought you had the straight-through mufflers which are not chambered.

  • You mentioned on the post that you have 14" oval single chamber mufflers? I seen you other videos and thought you had two maggies on it, which if there chambered would not be maggies.

  • They are maggies, and they are single chambered. On a side note, Magnaflow's XL series are 3 Chambered. So to answer your comment, yes I have 2 Single Chambered Magnaflow mufflers on my setup, and yes Magnaflow makes chambered mufflers, sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • I have a 93 performance custom tune from PHP for my 5.4, and good lord is it wild!!! Nice truck!

  • PHP are good people! Thanks for the response and nice comments!

  • Just ordered my gryphon. Did not get custom tunes yet. I don't really have any mods yet. I only have flowmaster 40 dumped and the gotts mod. Your truck sounds great by the way.

  • Sweet, you'll love the Gryphon! Appreciate the kind words.

  • Truck sound great man!

  • Appreciate it!
