Watch out for identical looking sites, someone sent me a link to a runescape forum page I clicked it and it looked 100% like rs I put my password in and boom! I was hacked lucky for me I had bank pin and I recovered password in like 20secs but he was still logged in so I couldn't log in so I went on diff account and he said to me tell me bank pin or I'll ban account I said get stuffed and called his bluff and it worked

It's pretty common but you can just contact blizzard and they'll remove the authenticator, lock your account and restore everything you've lost, it'll justake a while

It's more like an extra password to your password so others can't get into your account after finding out your password. It's just a precaution against hackers its not a tool used instead of making your own password.

I have a authenticator for my wow account and I have never been hacked..yeah I am careful and have all kinds of stuff to be wary of keyloggers...phishing sites I can see why some people could fall for them. I even did a test and acutally ":fell" for one of othese..but without my key for the authenticator I never got hacked. @Ownedrage go to the blizzard site and change your password with your personal question, its what i did and it stopped them from further using my account- sadly blizzard was an ass when it came to restoring my stuff -_- frost badges and godl were not returned.... Great customer service blizz!
It's a "man in the middle" attack, it kicks you off WoW's login after it grabs your password and the key from the security token and doesn't let you back in. Meantime the hacker is logging into your account.
They have not cracked RSA, even governments haven't managed this and that's not for lack of trying.

@deadzo24 what do you mean? The authenicator is used to give a precaution after hackers get your password. It's more like an extra password to your password so others can't get into your account after finding out your password. It's just a precaution against hackers its not a tool used instead of making your own password.

So, it's not the authenticator that was cracked, but the OS which is vulnerable. This would be the case for any type of authentication.

i've been hacked ihad an auth to it then i quit forgot where my auth went talked to blizz right when the auth was taken off somebody hacked my acc (tried to make it their own) i chanegd my pass real fast after he took it (using email) put my auth on it and he got me 450/450 mining a coup pieces of t10 and about 1k gold so i was happy :) gf hacker

I have a authenticator for my wow account and I have never been hacked..yeah I am careful and have all kinds of stuff to be wary of keyloggers...phishing sites I can see why some people could fall for them. I even did a test and acutally ":fell" for one of othese..but without my key for the authenticator I never got hacked. I have to mention in my friends experinces as well if you are those people who "buy WOW gold" and get the moeny...they usually end up hacking you back or just hack u neways

@StraightEdgeReviews I get these scamming emails all the time..and I know they are hacks..so acutally I tested these so called "Blizzard" sites typed in my name and password NOTHING happens but it does help to have the authenticator I think thats what keeps them from hacking me and I have varios scanners on my comp to prebent keyloggers and all sorts of other nasty stuff you can get...just gotta be smart when on the internet...nothing is as it seems

i sware someone is working with blizard to get accounts. i mean come on they get passed the authenticators and not only that but if youre not on youre account for so long and its not been on youre computer for over 6 months but yet they hack you? or my most loved when youre transfering you get hacked. The answers realy go to show that someone in Blizzard is geting payed to give out account info or some farmer is being able to hack the accounting. makes you wounder dont it

@brass76 Keylogging and phishing are the most common methods, and you can pick them up off ads, or download them through a .exe file. And when keylogged, it records every keystroke, and link you click, and everything you copy, so they could easily know when you have transferred.

hey, it was like 3 weeks ago i last logged on to wow, and now last week i was going to log in. when i tried everything worked as normal, until this slot where some kind of code from a authenticator needed appared... i have never bought this or upgraded my account or anything, suddenley they just demand this code from me?? what should i do? i dont even want this extra layer of security and i never asked for it

@drummerinSD Unfortunately my friend, you have been hacked. Whoever hacked you put the authenticator on to shut you out while they do what they do. I suggest calling Blizzard and having the authenticator removed, then they will restore your stuff that was taken.

this is a very stupid form of pertection. If you account gets hacked they will add a authenticator on to you account. This gives enough time for the hacker to jack all your shit. even using your secret question will not allow you to log into world of warcraft account. This is an epic fail. the authenticator works. But how it is used is an epic fail. So fuck you all.

@Ownedrage go to the blizzard site and change your password with your personal question, its what i did and it stopped them from further using my account- sadly blizzard was an ass when it came to restoring my stuff -_- frost badges and godl were not returned.... Great customer service blizz!

It's a "man in the middle" attack, it kicks you off WoW's login after it grabs your password and the key from the security token and doesn't let you back in. Meantime the hacker is logging into your account.
They have not cracked RSA, even governments haven't managed this and that's not for lack of trying.
