As far as I’m concerned the new HD menu “Update” was actually a DOWNGRADE. New menu no faster than the old menu and in cases slower. Color scheme is terrible on the eyes. Annoying pop-up comes up when viewing their HD signal through a SD device (I sometimes view DIRECTV through my DVD player) and they want to automatically reset the resolution of the receiver. Should have been given the option to receive the update rather than having it forced on them – “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
@gh8toes the new guide was made for hd tv, to make it look better and is faster, the reason why it seems slower is because of your settings on the receiver. as well as the resolution changing. you have to go to the menus and change the native mode to off.
That guide is super fast but I wish they would remove the adverts. You already pay a subscription. What's next an extra payment for an "ad-free" version of the guide. No way
they should make it so that the favorites arent a seperate filter, it should just jump to the channel. it gets annoying have to switch the filter back and forth
@74steve66 yeah that will work, but it depends on in your area that you live? everyone should get the upgrade by the end of January 2012! It will do it automatically when you are in bed.
I hope this HDGUI come soon to Sky Brazil.
