  • KANSAS---''RELENTLESS''

  • i thought about uploading all the music from the album on youtube because i own the album, but i figured that if i did it would just get removed because SONY crap. If anybody wants me to though can. Ill also do it for MONOLTIH :)

  • any chance of posting 'anything for you' ?

  • @key2kingdom ive posted it

  • and the fact that you have to tell everyone youre not gay raises questions right from the beginning about your security issues. lol

  • this song rocks!

  • Does anybody know where i can get the promo Audio Visions T-Shirt? I found some on eBay, but they ranged from 70 to 130 dollars.

  • @cooldudebailey ive never even seen any

  • Anthem for the Conservative vote! We must be relentless about our beliefs.

  • @skyhighpaulguy Keep polictics out of music, OK?

  • I love the cover art! It reminds me of what it was like to hear the truth of the Gospel for the first time, and to have my eyes and ears opened by the Holy Spirit.

  • I never really noticed the Christian overtones until someone mentioned them. They are pretty clear once you stop to listen.

This song never got the play I thought it deserved.

  • Some of my fave Steve vocals on the (opening) quiet parts here...

  • What a beautiful song! Praise God that this guy can sing his heart out about his Lord!

  • This is another overlooked Kansas gem. Great music! As to the lyrics, anything that does not promote lawlessness is fine with me. Kansas was a powerful music force with an awesome assemblage of talent.

  • just listen to the freakin' music and put the lotion in the basket!!!

  • If you will really LISTEN to these lyrics, you will know Kerry wrote this after his conversion. This song is about his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and his present existence in THIS world....and eternity.....as a LOT of his songs were...again, after he was born again. But one has to really listen to the words of this song to truly understand.

Another song that emphasizes this message is called, "Crossfire". If you can get a hold of this song...again, listen to the lyrics!

    ~D.B.

  • @DragoBalboa one thing that I like about kansas Is that they don't aggressively advertise the christian influence aggressively, but express it passively through music. One thing that kept me getting into say Lynard Skynyrd was say the obvious undertones, which 'forces' the listener to chant to the south and glorified religion. But Kansas doesn't do this at least until 80's when Steve left.

  • one of the most underrated kansas songs and play the game tonight

  • so true!

  • The members of Kansas have every right, just as every American citizen does, to choose any religion they want to follow and to speak about it to anyone they wish.. Like Rosalind1952 says, its about the music! Being a Christian myself I only have one more thing to say....ROCK ON KANSAS !!

  • @chickachickalady your right , they do. how can religion lose?

however my friend, to take a band in a direction that the majority of members do not want to go in is plain wrong. and that is what kerry livgren and dave hope did.

is that right? their were still still four other members of that band to consider. and after all , who really cares in the end? well....guess i do :)

  • @chickachickalady I'm an athiest, and never noticed the Christian lyrics until Kansas produced Vinyl Confessions, but regardless, their music is still some of the best out there all these years later. (btw, once you listen for the religious overtones they are kind of hard to miss)

  • God Love Them and this music. They, along with other groups helped me through my younger years. I don't care if they are Christian. This is excellent rock. I wish today's youth had more folks that put a message out there that wasn't about getting laid and killing cops.

  • I try not judge the quality of music or musicianship on the religious affiliation or philosophical viewpoint of the artist. Generally, if I like their work, it does not matter. However, I do agree that when it comes to artists who wear their religion, philosophy, politics, etc. on their sleeve, or make those beliefs part of their image, then it can affect my desire to purchase their product. I do not recall any member of Kansas ever being considered a radical, left, right, Christian or whatever.

  • I love this song and loved this album. Great cover art. Very original. I thought sure that the lyrics were about having sex. But I have to say, that it has been soiled somewhat after finding out about how Kerry Livgren and a few other band members had converted to "Christianity". It kind of ruined that whole feeling that I had for a lot of Kansas music. or at least called it into question somewhat. We don't need radical Christian Right philosophy seeping into rock. That is a scary thought.

  • Why would a message about life, hope, truth, and love soil the lyrics and ruin your feeling for this band. Are you saying that sex is what gave this song real meaning for you? Think deeper than that sb. Life is more than what we experience with the five senses. Sex, in the right context, is a beautiful expression of love and security, but it pales in comparison to the relentless love of God as demonstrated in Christ dying for sinners.

  • This is exactly what I am referring to: "sex, in the right context"? Whose "right" context? Christians? What about those who do not believe in Christianity or God? or being a sinner?

  • Steelybear, it is a very scary thought. This is why this music must be purged so that the way can be cleared for the Islamic call to prayer to be heard from Los Angelas to Boston, from Seattle to Miami! Islam can easily conquer a non-religious American culture that is obsessed with sex and materialism, but one that is steeped in Christianity is much more problematic. How can we have all Christian music purged from America? It is such a scary thing---

  • @TheCannonofMohammed well, thecannonofmohammed you are as one might expect - extreme - we do not need to "purge" Christian music from America -everyone has the right to listen to what they want to listen to. That is why we are not a theocracy. Yet. Believe me if we could get rid of all religions: Christianity, Islam, Buddist, Scientologist freaks, Mormon whacko's - we would all be much better off. Religion is the biggest problem in the world. Only second to greed.

  • sweet southwestern desert rock.

  • def just found this vinyl at goodwill for 99 cents.

  • All Kansas songs have such a deep meaning. The songwriting and singing together make them a band that all generations can appreciate!

  • Ahhhhhh Sum ! Serious Spirit

    Mojo !

  • been looking for this forever

  • I did not buy the album because of the cover. A friend gave me the cassette and I realized that this a very excellent album. This song Kerry was referring to be relentless as a believer of God, but I feel this song makes me think that life is relentless, but that in the meantime I am Joyously waiting for the DAY! Just to set the record straight, my wife is Wackodancemom, and I'm using her account.

  • Great song, and a very good album musically, but the cover artwork is hideous. I hope that when Audio Visions is Remastered they will restore the artwork from the liner notes and us it for the front cover.

  • Thank you for the comment.

I do not like the cover artwork of this album so much. When it is only cover artwork, 'Point of know return' is good.

  • again, who cares, it's about the frikken music, sheesh............

  • @riversend21 - I think the cover art is right on. It marked what might have been a change for the whole band, but was the mark of the split. Kerry one way. (wink) and Steve another. Kerry first solo album shows the more graphic, and less old Kansas style, and if you trace their individual efforts as well as the morph of the band, they never recaptured the earlier classical art mix with prog rock. A time for changes, and Seeds of Change was it. Peace, A.

  • who cares, it's all about the music isn't it sheesh

  • @Northcarolinian

Oh. I love the album art! It's very '70's!

I grew up in the 70's... Jimmy Carter RULES!!!!

Disco, Plato's Retreat, Studio 54, oh yes, my children... and on and on...

  • @Northcarolinian It's ok but could be better I agree...well ya know...like most 70's bands who make it through the 80's... they all seem like they try to go with that "new wave" flow a little bit, as far as cover art, atire, haircuts lol

  • @Northcarolinian this is amazing cover art it is strange but it is so cool

  • Awesome! Yes, "our lives do not compare to what's awaiting us there" See you THERE Kerry!

  • goodtimes with good music and good company

  • i love kansas
