So it's not your cup of tea, then don't listen to it. The fact that you're compelled to leave disparaging comments doesn't bode well for Norm. Lanny has a devoted following who travel great distances just to catch a glimpse of his majic. I feel sorry for Norm that his dad is so jaded he cannot see magic anymore.

Lanny Shum is not easy to "get". It's kitschy covers of kitschy material. Do you enjoy abstract art? Probably not.

Instead of posting pejorative remarks, post a video response of yourself "respectfully" singing the very same medley as Lanny. I doubt very much you can make it your own the way Lanny does. William Hung has no following to speak of apart from a few fratboys. Lanny is an international star.

I listened to your rendition of You Make Me So very Happy. It is quite impressive. However, I think your version pays homage to David Clayton Thomas whereas Lanny makes the songs his own. That's the difference between a tribute band and an entertainer and showman like Lanny Shum. Once you hear Lanny sing a song, you'll never hear it the same again. Buddy, THAT is genius.

Please do me one last favor before we agree to disagree. Listen to Lanny sing "House of the Rising Sun." I'm thinking that maybe you're feeling competetive because you're both singing the same song. Just listen to that song and if you're unconvinced I give up. As his fans like to say, Let Go and Let Lanny! Dylan's voice was and is still criticized by those who prefer a "pretty" voice instead of conviction and passion.
