I like the way he can make a simple structure as the Doha Tower into a wonderful and world-class architecture! He's digs into every single details and I think that made him unique... inspiring!
Do you want to live in this kind of architecture? Not me, no way. I feel really uncomfortable in these giants of steel and glass, some are looking like machines. I prefer a more organic way of architecture
@foggy4180 i see, i also liked zaha a lot, and also calatrava, but gaudi, maybe not so much, coz he's one is a bit odd, haha, its like in wonder land, but the buildings are like melting, but nonetheless very interesting, probably because he's old school and zaha and calatrava is like kind of futuristic or at least more current or contemporary, haha, im not very good with the architectural eras
Unfortunately, in the real world, behind the flashy surface, the practical details and maintnance of his creations is a nightmare beyond common sense.
Good point, this is one of the fancy things that I would call a high embodied energy feature and perfectly avoidable. This is just a concept design and is not thinking in the environmental and sustainable way, is just a megalomaniac fancy feature that cost a lot of money and I wouldn't mention the money for maintain it, just a "very high embodied energy building" that is paid with the last drop of fossil fuel and his owner the Arabic empire.
This guy is not helping the environment at all! he use a disproportional amount of steel in the Arabic Centre without any care about the environment and either the people that lives in this world. He is a genius but a genius for disaster!

@foggy4180 That's the problem with architects..
do they want to create an artwork, do they want to please themselves, do they want to please the client, or do they want to please the public

@foggy4180 so you might like zaha hadid?
kamal6991 4 months ago
@kamal6991 That's right, I like Hadid a lot and also Calatrava and Gaudi because they follow nature.
In nature nothing is built with exact angles.
But I also like Lautner, Wright for example.

It isn't a big deal, but I just noticed that you said who's in the intro when it should be whose. Just thought you might want to know. Love the Vids!

Nouvel's ideas are always amazing.
