@INeedSizzors61 you don't necessarily have to. its easier to clean the fretboard if u take them all off, but it takes a little more time to adjust the bridge again
@jaydog664 You change *one string at a time* on a double-locking tremolo. Unless you want to polish the frets and/or put lemon oil (or something else) on the fretboard, change strings one at a time.
If you take ALL the strings off at once, then you'll have a hard time getting the trem back to a balanced position.
1st off the mag from guitar center musicians friend and some places on the internet said it was a floyd rose before i bought it and 2nd the thing has never gone out of tune i tune it once and never have to tune it until i get new strings
hey how much did you pay for this guitar, this is at my guitar center used for 300 exactly how you have it in this video and in good condition, trying to save up money to buy it
well the floyd rose tremolos are way better and more expensive they also keep your guitar tuned for a while plus most ibanez guitars use the edge III bridge
the guitar center magazine said it was a floyd rose trem and i bought it thinking it was but i suppose its not, i dont know why every one makes such a big deal about it
@94guitar08 i own this exact guitar, only in red. no, it isn't a flyod rose. floyd rose systems say "floyd rose" on them, and they have locking and sometimes double locking bridges. the main giveaway is the fact that it is not cut out deep enough to even fit a floyd rose. personally, i plan on having it professionally routed to make space for a black floyd rose system, replace all the chrome hardware with black and replace the stock pickups with EMG humbuckers. this guitar is great nonetheless
@94guitar08 well i think that people make a big deal about it because i think the the EDGE 3 tremolo system doesnt stay as tuned as much as the licensed floyd rose system does
Dudes I have the same guitar with transparent blue quilted maple, and its obvious that its an EDGE III chrome bridge. Afloyd rose trem does not look like that and in nature its still based on the floyd rose system. The RG4EXFM1 is a crossbreed between Prestige design and RG hardware and specs. again FYI limited edition RG4EXFM1 has EDGE III tremolo installed amen... This guitar is a great guitar once you customized it to your taste... ROCK ON!!!
yeah all they sell now is the rg4exfm1 and it has a flame maple top that is the same price as this one was i got this for 400 because it was one of the last ones in blue but all 450 is the cheapest ive seen
Nope...robvk6 is right. It's an Edge III bridge. Ibanez specifically developed the Edge III to avoid legal hassles with Floyd Rose. They no longer require the "licensed by Floyd Rose" stamped on all their trems this way, plus there were many legal issues.
nope..im really going to lie right, i have the same exact guitar and been playing for a while 5 year. its a licenesed floyd, the guy at guitar center even said it was , and plus the guitar is discontinued so FAILL
Wow...I also have the original model too(rg4exqm1). Quilt top...blah blah blah. It was a model only offered at Guitar Center. I am sorry to tell you that it is NOT a Floyd Rose. It's not even a "licensed by." Look close at the trem, under the fine tuners it says "Ibanez" not "licensed by..." Ibanez has NEVER NEVER NEVER offered an "Original" Floyd Rose as a standard on any model. You need to learn the difference between an "Original" Floyd Rose and a double locking trem system...
don't let the headstock of the guitar just lay on your bed like that you gay stupid son of a bitch. that will make your guitar go out of tune. next time, let the headstock rest off from the bedside.
He probably bought it before they changed the name. The RG4EXQM1 came in transparent blue and gray. Also there is a difference in the paint job between the qm1 and the fm1. The fm1 has more of a stripey look and the qm1 is more of a cloudy look.
sweet i jus got the same guitar no probs at all i luv it...i also got another one like this too but with no tremelo. but mine are all quilted grey badass
i cant keep it in tune can u make a video showing how to???

Knife Edges? The inlays or are you talking about the bridge?
94guitar08 2 years ago
