I found out that, when in first person mode, look STRAIGHT down. There's less to for the game to process at your feet than when you're looking at a rapidly rotating fan. Look up once in a while yo shoot the vents and then look down again.
I failed like a billion times, and when I tried this I got it in 1 try.
hmm come to think of it all the times I got it is a was a file I was not to far in. if nintendo ever rereleases this the glitch needs to be fixed and maybe add just a hair more time from 90 to 100 seconds would be nice
I hated that fish, it took me forever to finally get that banana. You made it look so easy. When the clock ran out and I was on my last vent, I realized that there's a "gap" of when you're still in the fish and before getting booted from it. I've only gotten the bananna twice in that occasion.
I swear, something must be wrong with my game, because I literally did the exact same thing as you, and hit the vents every time the fan stopped, and for some reason it runs out of time when there is still one vent left.

Hey guys, just finished it. You may have to start the game from scratch because I tried doing the robot fish with 200 bananas and I couldn't do it.
I found another file where I was in the middle of doing Gloomy Galleon and tried doing it on there and it was really easy to do.
For some reason after a certain point in the game, the fan slows down making it impossible to get the golden banana. Spread the word!
