to all the idiots out there, the Nintendo 64 had a memory pak that connect to the controller. It was used to play your game files on your friends console. It's sad because i was not even a year old when this amazing console was released and i know more about it then you guys
@smergler1 You don't really know more about it than anyone else. The control pak for the N64 didn't save important game data for most games. Super Mario 64 certainly didn't use it. All saves were handled by the game cartridge itself. Look it up, hardly any first party Nintendo games used it.

To me TBBT is genuinely funny. Mostly because I am also a geek and I get most of what they say. However what I find annoying is when something unfunny occurs (which I would not laugh to) and just take as normal dialogue, the laugh track appears. It spoils that part of the show.
More shows need to remove the laugh track. I can enjoy the show and laugh when I find it to be funny and enjoy the rest without the annoying laugh track.

This is weird.. I thik the reason is the timing is way off compared to what it wuold be if it naturally had no laugh track. There are long pauses due to the laugh track that are simply silence now. You could get around this by some clever editing.

The shame of all this is that this could be a really funny scene if they weren't lazy with the writing and letting the laugh track do the work. They are also good enough performers to pull it off. It's like all they think they have to do is have a bunch of setups, acknowledgement the setup and then play the laugh to segue to another acknowledgement or another setup. There is no true punchline or we infer the punchline because of some well placed references.

to all the idiots out there, the Nintendo 64 had a memory pak that connect to the controller. It was used to play your game files on your friends console. It's sad because i was not even a year old when this amazing console was released and i know more about it then you guys

@smergler1 You don't really know more about it than anyone else. The control pak for the N64 didn't save important game data for most games. Super Mario 64 certainly didn't use it. All saves were handled by the game cartridge itself. Look it up, hardly any first party Nintendo games used it.
That's what everyone's referring to with memory card and Mario 64 comments.

This is the thing I hate about laugh tracks.
To me TBBT is genuinely funny. Mostly because I am also a geek and I get most of what they say. However what I find annoying is when something unfunny occurs (which I would not laugh to) and just take as normal dialogue, the laugh track appears. It spoils that part of the show.
More shows need to remove the laugh track. I can enjoy the show and laugh when I find it to be funny and enjoy the rest without the annoying laugh track.

All in all, the show is better off because there are the kind of silent pauses required to think of responses of this complexity, which there often are not in every day speech.

This is weird.. I thik the reason is the timing is way off compared to what it wuold be if it naturally had no laugh track. There are long pauses due to the laugh track that are simply silence now. You could get around this by some clever editing.

The shame of all this is that this could be a really funny scene if they weren't lazy with the writing and letting the laugh track do the work. They are also good enough performers to pull it off. It's like all they think they have to do is have a bunch of setups, acknowledgement the setup and then play the laugh to segue to another acknowledgement or another setup. There is no true punchline or we infer the punchline because of some well placed references.
