Anne Marie- Since watching this I started making my own eyeshadows :) They're great, but the colors fade or migrate throughout the day even though I use a primer. Do you know what I can add to make it longer lasting and smudge-proof?
@EarlyBirdie82 Kaolin clay is great for helping mineral makeup to stick to your skin. I would try adding a little bit. You need to mix it really well - I use a little spice grinder to help speed up the job.
thats liquid eyeliner, do you know how to make a pencil eyeliner? :) my friends are giving presents to each other... i wanted to give them my fizzies i make, these two eyeshadow and eyeliner, and also the small holiday candles you guys made ;) what do you think?
@isabelplace I am not sure how you would go about making a pencil liner at home. But that sounds like a great X-mas present package - you have some very lucky friends. :)
I can't wait to make these! I asked for Bramble Berry gift cards for my birthday :D And thank you Anne-Marie for teaching me everything I know, I'm using soap and such as a way to raise money so I can go on a France trip with my school. I couldn't do it without you!
@getsomebs No, all of the recipes for eye and face are loose powder and then there are lipstick and lip gloss recipes. But that's a great idea! Maybe we need to add a new section to our Minerla Makeup book.
In the meantime, when making cream eyeshadows you need to use a preservative and be sure that all of your tools and containers are clean and sterilized. Thanks for your question!
@CharmyCupcake I pretty much only wear makeup when I'm filming Soap Queen TV videos - so I know what you mean. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@tattyjenna101 Yes, that's a great idea. It's pretty easy really. You just take a lip balm base and LOTS of mica and oxides. That's a great idea for another video - thanks!
I have to say, as the owner of a mineral makeup company (i will not mention the name as I am not trying to advertise), different skin tones and skin types work differently. A premixed base can be fun to work with but if you're oily, a woman of color or have certain skin conditions you'll want to research some natural additives that will help with adhesion, not looking white/chalky, etc. Also, make sure you aren't allergic by testing on your arm first!
@killclockwork Thanks for the great tips! Allergy testing is always a great idea. Obviously this video is only the tip of the iceberg that is mineral makeup, I have much more to cover. - Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie...could you please make a few suggestions for ingredients of mineral make up with out the shimmer and sheen? I actually prefer a matte look. The pearly/shimmery/sparkly sheen look just accentuates my eye wrinkles. Thanks so much!
@datsfam Don't use micas, just stick with clays and oxides and you will get a truly matte finish. They can be a little tricky to mix smoothly but a little elbow grease is all it takes. Have fun! - Anne-Marie
with the money by buying those things i can buy 1000s of eyeshadows!

Just wondering...what are the colors made of?
dreamywriter14 1 month ago
@dreamywriter14 Typically oxides and micas are where the colors come from.

what would happen if you just used the mica?
EternallyImperfect 6 months ago
@EternallyImperfect It tends to be streaky - because the color is so intense. So that's why I mix it with the sericite to get a more even color.
