  • wow,

  • I've been going thru your videos and I have to say, your very good and unique. What part of the US do you live in?

  • Thank you very much - I do like to think I have my own voice. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Do you have tabs??

Its hard to make this out by myself.

  • I'm afraid not... everything just sort of comes out on the spur of the moment, I never play a song the same way twice. I can tell you it's open G tuning, and most of the little riffs and stuff are just open string, 3rd & 5th fret.

  • Awesome playing but I can hardly see your guitar. Still great though. 5*

  • Yeah - nice rhythm going on here.

  • i wanna see what your playin u fuckin dick thats why iwatch people selfish

  • I'm playing your mom's penis.

  • hahahah cop that dingleberrypoo

  • lol.

  • dude mike this is hot!

  • Thanks man... always glad to contribute to our little mutual appreciation society here :-)

  • awesome dude!

  • Hey, thanks for commenting man, glad you liked it!

  • Woo...good job man.

  • Thanks... yeah, I always have a lot of fun with this one.

  • really great video man, i like what you did with it

  • Thanks for commenting - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • that's badass.

  • Aw, shucks. Thanks.

  • thanks for the tips, u da man.

  • that was totally great

    i need rythem like that

    any tips

  • Thanks - As to rhythm, even though you can't really hear it on this one, I think for me my biggest influence would have to be The Who. Pick up the compilation album "The Secret Policeman's Other Ball" and spend a few years trying to get down Pete Townshend's version of "Drowned" from that, it's pretty much the best rhythm guitar playing ever, and will give you something high to aim for.

  • Also, pick up the Who album "Live At Leeds" and pick through it for John Entwhistle's basslines... if you can get down *anything* that guy does, you'll be in good shape rhythmically. I particularly like jamming in "Shakin' All Over"... the bassline is simple but there's a lot of room to play with it.

  • light..i need light!!!but despite that very good work!

  • Thanks a lot! Yeah, I wish I could go in and swap this video for a take with more light but keep the comments & ratings, but YouTube won't let you swap videos, you can only delete and re-port from scratch.

  • hey man , can you do it again with better lighting?

  • Yeah, I can, but I've got a huge backlog of videos to post, probably be a while before I get around to redoing this one... I'll put it on my list though.

  • great as always man, keep up the good work

  • Thanks a lot man, glad you liked it. Got some more to post in the next few weeks, I'm seriously backlogged.

  • i'll stay tuned ;)

  • pretty dam good

  • Hey, thanks man!

  • wow that s cool.

Ilike ur innovative way of playing the guitar .keep on rocking man !!!

  • Thanks man... keep watching, there's more to come!

  • Dude..That's amazing!!

  • :-) Thanks man

  • Very, very, groovy...

  • Hey, thanks... glad you liked it!

  • loving it

  • WOW - Smokin' version of a great tune.I love it when I can love a cover of a song I love!

  • Thanks, man, for all the positive feedback! Always glad to see someone good liking my stuff.

  • very cool - some really great original licks in there.

  • Thanks man, always nice to get compliments from other players, especially hearing this from someone with so many great licks on their channel. Glad you're enjoying, and thanks for rating!

  • You sure you're not a professional?

That is some amazing guitar playing!!

  • Nope, definitely not a professional... I think between the raggedy sense of rhythm and the inconsistent vocals my appeal is always going to be, er, 'selective'. :-) But thanks - yeah, I've been playing this one a long time, that's for sure.

  • Superb like always, still waiting on an instructional video or two.....

I would leave a video respone but it would just be so inferior!

  • Tough to know how to respond to that... I 'd sure rather feel like my videos were encournaging people to make their own, rather than discouraging them. :-/

I'll definitely do some instrucitonal video at some point, but it'll be a while, I think, I want to come up with something that's a little different than the million other instructional videos on here already. Gonna take some time to figure out exactly what.

  • Im sure it will be worth the wait.

I have been experimenting with open g tuning like you said and I also recently bought a slide and have been messing around with that a bit... I'll do a vid soon

  • First wiew. first comment. and first rating.

    5 stars

    Nice playing. nice singing :)

  • I say to you three times: thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm hoping that some of you other players who have been leaving such nice comments on my stuff will do some video responses... it's be nice to get a little back & forth going.

  • Of course I want to response you but my camera is broken so I can't.

If I get a new camera then I will respond you ;)
