How much more real do you want? The boat the engine is going into is not yet complete. There will be a new video soon showing the engine being turned by the motor when it is complete, and shortly after that will be the engine being tested on steam for the 1st time. If I manage to get my big air compressor repaired, it will be test on that too.
malt, wish I can help you. Was that a Skinner?? I live in Hawai'i. Don't know where you are. I'm an old steam tech. How much more real do I wan't?? I wan't to see the real engine work!!!=Stefan=
Hi. Yes keep checking my video's, and check the Steamboating forum, the link is given in the description.
We have 5 lathes, 2 milling machines, 2 rotary tables, 1 dividing head, 1 surface grinder, 1 toolpost grinder and many other hand tools, all which are used.
Hmmm running it in?
How about putting it to work on something? Like a boat for instance.,

Lovely engine mate and nice to see her being run in gently. Is that a one piece crank? If so , very nice work!

Nice construction video. I take it that you will be providing more videos as you continue your progress?
What kind of machining equipment are you using?

It is a crankshaft, not sure why they are spinning it without connecting rods/pistons...
Must be some break-in procedure.
