If I can buy night vision for 90 dollars at wal-mart, why would beings that are capable of interstellar travel need lights? It's an airplane. Please reference Occam's razor.
As for the "landing on water" thing . . . You most likely were seeing the plane approach the horizon and come back. Probably a student from epic aviation doing some night pattern work.
@microphonewench - No, I didn't know who I should contact. I also saw other strange objects that night that I couldn't capture on film. They were just too far away. Do you have the websites for these agencies?
