Be wary of only quoting John 5:24 "..he who ..believes him who sent me ..does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life". Romans 14:10-13 says, "Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God." So each of us shall give account of himself to God." That includes the faithful.
Of course purgatory is described in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 "each man's work will become manifest; for the Day [of judgement] will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire." James 2:24 should be borne in mind.
I must say I admire his devotion to evangelize, and I am sure that he does it from love to the Lord. But why does he use the word Trinity? If he doesn't approve Church's teachings, then he should abandon also the definitions of early Councils, such as Trinity and Christology. How does he know what books belong to the Bible? The only way the sect he represents can even be a christian sect, is because Catholic Church has the fullness of the gospel and has preserved it in her bossom!
Where IN the Bible does it say that The Bible is The ONLY Rule & Practice for Salvation?
Did Jesus preach By The Bible Alone? Did His Apostles?
Silly Protest-ant heretics..dont understand they worship an idol, a Mistranslated Book! (Luther had over 150 MISTRANSLATIONS in the Errant King James Bible, he also tried to Omit all of James and Maccabees)
King James was a well known Sodomite Queer by the way, easily verifiable.
Where in the bible does it say Bible Only? Where in the bible does it tell you which books should be included in the bible? Do you know who put the bible together? Who wrote the NT? The CATHOLIC Church. Yep. Look up Church History! Ask Jesus to lead you into the fullness of truth!
@secondtimothyisin...Thank you brother for you sharing your knowledge on Scripture. But, did you know that Sola Scriptura or the "Bible Alone" is a man-made doctrine. It was never held in Christianity until Martin Luther introduced it so he could justify his break from the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC APOSTOLIC Church in October 31, 1517. Matter of fact, if you go further back in history, say...382 A.D., you will find that it was the Catholic Church that set the canon of scripture at the Council of Rome.
@hnoel79 You cannot find the answer in the format you want to get. Its like, you cannot also find in the Bible that says: "Jesus is God, worship him." I suggest you read the Bible yourself and get interested in learning Gods nature and how he reacts to disobedience and how he rewards those who follow him. Reading the Bible is like eating pizza. You cannot eat the entire pizza as a whole. You start a pie at a time & work your way through it. As a christian, I say you follow only d Bible.
@joab302016 Thank you for your respesctful manner.God bless you.1 Peter4:6 completly justifies praying for the dead.If you recognize purgatory that you should know its purpose.
I have read the Bible and my mind is open by the grace of God,that's how I found the fullness of Christ in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. And Christ actual present in the Eucharist in Jn 6:53-58.
Read verse starting verse 1. The writer is referring to the pagans, they are spiritually dead. Verse 6 says that the gospel is preached to those who are dead(without christ in their life). Examine carefully, it says "preach" it didn't say "pray". It is even pointless to preach to a sleeping or sleepy person in church, how much more it is useless to preach to those who are dead physically. We preach to those who are dead spiritually bec Gods word is powerfull and alive.
@Archangelatis when you preach, what actually you are doing is teaching new information to your listeners. When you preach, you are trying to emphasize a point that is relevant to you and to your listener. When you pray, you are talking to God.
@joab302016 You have ignored your audience and the message that God sent you to convey;which is always the good news of Salvation. When you pray you pray for a purpose, and you can pray for their Salvation.
The point is if they Can be preached too, there is Hope and there is always prayer.Who are you to decide otherwise?
@Archangelatis do you pray for your loved ones who are already dead physically in order for them to enter heaven? Can you confirm/deny that the RC Church is trying to get souls out of purgatory by praying Hail Mary, Our Father, and other traditional catholic prayers?
@joab302016 Yes to both questions.St Paul prayers for his dead friend too.2 Timothy 1:16-18.
I have a question for you:what were the reasons for Francis J Beckwith, former President of the Evangelical Theological Society converting to Catholicism?
@Archangelatis Mr.Francis conversion to RC doesn't mean anything to me. Im sure it means a lot for you. A lot of Roman Catholic priests are converting to Islam, not only RC priests but also protestant ministers. If conversion from one faith to another faith is a measuring stick for you, then does it mean that those religion that takes many converts are always right? Don't forget wide is the road that leads to destruction. Lets get back to the Lord Jesus. He is the salvation.
I feel I do not want to pursue this topic any longer. I was asking a series of questions to you, not just asking in order to have a debate. I feel that the body of Christ given its diversity should not focus on debating each other but accept that for a certain degree it was meant from the beginning that His body is to be diverse. As long as you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and you get His salvation not by other peoples merit but as a grace given to each of us.
(cont) And I wish that one day, if the Lord Jesus permits we will let us see each other and eat in a burger shop and have a good time as a true brother. Our real enemy is not about catholics versus protestant. But against Islam/shariah and the spirit of the antichrist. I wish you the best things in life.
@joab302016 I would like that my Brother in Christ.May God bless you on your journey of Faith. You'er one of the few decent Protestants I've met on YT.
@joab302016...Well, there's another enemy that we need to look out for. The spirit of Relativism is infecting the minds of today's youth and adults and leading them farther and farther away from the one and only absolute truth...JESUS CHRIST. +Peace be on to you brother+
actually dont start talking all that mess cause the bible is gods word and it is for everyone ,so dont come saying thay,"ohh if it was for him and him or watever or the catholic church we wouldnt have the bible"get that out of here and go read your bible
I'm a convert to the Mormon church--I've been a member for over 30 years. I could never be Catholic--just knowing that they think nothing is wrong with using alcohol drives me nuts.
Wow.. this is such a joke! Hey pal, you would not have the Bible if were not for the Catholic Church. See Scott Hahn, Peter Kreeft, Francis Beckwith (former Protestants, now Catholics).
I am sure Mr. secondtimothyisin is the first person in 2000 years to have understood the Bible completely; you probably understand it better than the ones who wrote it. Heaven is going to be an awful lonely place for you. I'm blessed to have the greatest guides of all time: the Holy Fathers of the original Chrisitan Church (The Orthodox Church). You, on the other hand, are a much smarter man than the rest of us, apparently, and can understand everything perfectly on your own, like the pope.
Both Roman Catholics and protestant sectarians are false. The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ can be none other than the Holy Orthodox Church.
I certainly disagree with your assessment that purgatory is not in the bible and of course with your interpretation of the bible, but I do appreciate the fact that you got *what* purgatory is right. I'm so tired of hearing non-Catholics try to teach me that its a "second chance". Strangely, it's quite a relief.
To answer your question, you should go with what the Church teaches. Jesus created the Church, the Church created the Bible. Your proof-texting distorts the meaning of the Sacred Scriptures. The Church interprets the Bible as a whole, guided by the Holy Spirit.
Why is it that only the Protestant churches spend an enormous amount of time trying to convince Catholics that they are wrong? Catholics are more inclined to tell you that you are welcome to attend Mass and to pray for you but you Protestants, only want to condemn and villify. It's that attitude that placed our Lord on the Cross. Open your mind and learn what the Catholic Church is really all about and why we believe what we believe. "The truth is the truth, no matter how many don't believe it".
@Strefanasha Not true. The Catechism of the Catholic Church specifically says in paragraph #86 "Yet this Magisterium is not superior to the Word of God, but is its servant."
@Strefanasha The Bible is a product of the Church. The Bible was written, compiled, and edited by the Orthodox Christian Church. Shows how much you know.
Purgatory is referenced to in the bible. It's the protestant bibles that are missing 8 books from the bible. 8 books that had always been there up until the reformation. So, if you want to stick with the bible stick with the original and the original church that put it together the Catholic church. Because if your faith is in the bible your putting your faith in the Catholic Church who put it together. Dong go with a King James Version. I think the title tells why its a mans version not Gods.
You state a doctrine on the Trinity at the beginning of the video, then dissect every single person of it, I, as a Catholic, know what that is, because it was a dogmatic proclamation by the Catholic Church as there is evidence for and against in Scripture. I love the Word, because my Church compiled it and put it together, so I think yes, I do know what it says, and yes, purgatory is found within it.
Yes,I found Purgatory in the Bible. In the old Testament it speaks of Sho'el,the abode of the dead.Which Jesus refers to in 1 Peter 3:18-20 & I Peter 4:5-6.Where he goes to remove souls and take them to Heaven.
God bless the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church faithful to our Lord Jesus Christs teachings for 2000 years by the grace of God.
I grant you that Purgatory exist in the Bible. But even if that is true. The RC Church is still wrong because you are praying for the dead in purgatory. You believe that by praying the Rosary, Hail Mary's, Our Father, and other RC tradition, you can get souls to heaven. Please open your mind and think about it. Im engaging your in a discussion in a respectful manner. I do not think that it is a sin that leads to death when you believe in purgatory. But praying for purgatory is.
Can you tell me where the word Trinity is in the bible.... your logic is refuted. Thank the Council of Nicea for your understanding for the Trinity....btw the Council of Nicea was a Catholic council.
@greyspot00 How dare you call someone's beliefs and practices "garbage". That's incredibly insensitive and without base. Catholics trust Jesus - that's why they stay Catholic, because it's the Church he created and continues to maintain through the workings of the Holy Spirit. This video is full of errors, so please don't base your opinion of Catholics on people who don't know what they're talking about.
"Religious garbage" is anything not found in the Word of God. The Bible says that we are saved through faith alone by grace, and not through works. If someone tells me that I have to do penance or anything else to attain salvation, it is "garbage." The catholic church (and not just them, don't worry) is steeped in paganism and idolatry, and goes against God's Word. Jesus did not create the catholic church. The "great whore" in Revelation is very reminiscent, however.
@greyspot00 You say, "The Bible says that we are saved through faith alone by grace, and not through works."
The Bible says, "Do you see that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only?" (Jas 2:24). I'm afraid that my Church isn't the one that has gone against God's Word. I don't think it could be much clearer.
Taking the book of James in context, he is pointing out that "you see," man sees, that he is justified because his actions changed. The majority of the book of James is simply pointing out that a changed life is evidence for a saved soul. The Bible never says that salvation comes by works.
@greyspot00 --James 2 also give examples of justification by works by reminding us of Abraham and Rahab and what they did; So its not "we mistakenly see" we are made just by works, we really are, because God is very generous. But let me say that as justification is not by faith alone, it likewise is not by works alone- at all.
@greyspot00 --If you can find for me "we are saved by faith alone" in the New Testament, I will join your church. But know that all prooftext verses that do not have the word "alone" in it will not be considered. Also know that I have challenged many protestants before with this offer, and they also have all failed. A Catholic I remain.
Well, you are asking me to find my paraphrase in the Bible, which is simply not possible. It's like when a muslim says, "show me where Jesus says 'I am God, worship me." It doesn't matter if I can show him that Jesus says that in different words. I can't prove it his way, so he thinks he's scott free.
The Bible DOES say though:
Eph 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.
@greyspot00 --Eph 2 is speaking of initial salvation, which no man can gain for himself. Faith is a gift from God given in the sacrament of Baptism, not something we try to muster up on the way to an "altar call". And, because God is generous, he chose to continually justify us by the good works he perpared for us to do, as taught in James 2 24 "we are made just by works and not by faith alone".
@greyspot00 --Martin Luther, who could read James in the Greek (I assume), knew exactly what James was saying, thats why he wanted to remove James from his own translation of the Bible, but his friends urged him to keep it in.
So, the text includes faith, and excludes works, which means that faith is by itself, alone. Feel free to place any other ridiculous restrictions on God otherwise (I know he didn't use your choice of vocabulary), but if you have to jump through hoops to avoid the clear teaching of Scripture, something is wrong.
Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
It can only be one or the other. Explain what "initial salvation" is. Do I get more of it later?
Again, taking John 6:29 in context, Jesus told them not to labout for meat that perishes, but the meat that does not. They asked, "What do we have to do?" Jesus answered, "believe."
@Archangel866 And....."For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
No one bypasses judgement. It is mentioned in the bible that there will be a cleansing by fire and St Teresa welcomed that purification, purgation. God knows, in all my faith and reverence I will need cleaning still. Mortal language is so weak. Like capturing a miracle on film. You'd never get a facsimile. Hanks Mang.
@justclassicalguitar I've never heard of that quote, and if it happens to be true that a Pope said that and meant it, then he would be wrong. That's certainly no reason to cause massive divisions in the body of Christ though.
@justclassicalguitar Prayer to Mary is very different than prayer to God. Prayer to Mary is asking for her intercession, just like I could ask a friend to pray for me. Worship is due to God alone. God bless.
Then why is it that when it comes to specific verses (not passages) that the catholic church makes up blown up - out of proportion doctrine? Examples: Holy water, purgatory, saints with the ability for divine intervention, transubstantiation, and the formation of a clergical hiearchy? Now, i am not blaming only catholics on this. Some protestant churches have faulty doctrines by taking things out of context. Speaking in toungues, Faith alone, earthly perfectionism, alter calls, etc etc
@mrlivingstons1 The Catholic Church does not look to the Bible as the basis of her beliefs, but Jesus himself. Coincidentally, the Bible itself came from the Catholic Church, not the other way around.
The Bible does not claim that it (the Bible) is the pillar and ground of truth. It says that the church is (1 Tim 3:15) - the same church that Christ founded upon Peter, which we know today as the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. God bless.
@cburton103 We look at the first verse in the book of John which states that the Word is Christ. With this, you must affirm that the bible is head authority for teaching because it is Christ's words (absolute truth). Without the bible, the church would have no truth to teach unless it is falsified truth. True apostolic sucession is God's word being taught from generation to generation and making followers of Christ. Its not an institution friend.
@mrlivingstons1 Jesus is the head authority, not a book, even if it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The problem comes in when people try to interpret the Bible for themselves, apart from the constant witness of the Church throughout the ages.
If the Bible was meant to be our head authority, then why are there so many interpretations of it amongst Protestants, and how can we know whose is correct?
@cburton103 Im sorry it took me so long to reply. A lot of things have been going on in my life at the moment. The reason why there are so many denominations is they dont study the word sistematically (looking at the whole of scripture). This is why we as christians need to have firm knowlege on what the whole of scripture says on an idea, not just part of it. God did not make his truth hard to understand for us, he wants us to continue to understand throughout the ages.
@mrlivingstons1 I'm sorry to hear that life's been tough for you recently, I'll pray that you continue to trust in God through these times.
I agree that many denominations don't study the Bible systematically. However, even if they did, different people will still have different interpretations in certain areas. I think that our situation is similar to the story of the Ethiopian eunuch who needed someone to teach him. Do you not think we too need someone to teach us like in Acts 8:26-40?
I dont see a problem with oral tradition. With the verses you presented, it supports this claim. However, we need to be testing traditions we hold onto in the church with the Holy Scripture. We must put to the test every practice in the church with Holy Scripture just as the Barrians did (Acts 17:11) when they overlooked Paul's teachings. This then, does not affirm that whatever tradition created is completely without error. It needs to be tested by the HS so it does corraberate with God's word.
@mrlivingstons1 I agree. The Bible is inerrant, so when it is understood correctly no tradition should contradict it in any way. Here's the key question that arises: How do we know if we are interpreting the Bible correctly? I do not doubt that the majority of Protestants are well-meaning in their exegesis, but the simple fact of the matter is that the way some people privately interpret Scripture contradicts the way others do. How do we achieve unity under a system of private interpretation? GB
@cburton103 And I agree too. When we read scripture individually, there can be some crazy theories that are out of proportion. This is why we must never study scripture by ourselves, but study with a group (preferably with someone in it that has knowledge of what is in the total of scripture). The more we study scripture, the more familiar it gets. If a questionable belief from an individual or even protestant group, we will be equipped with truth and biblical theology to correct it.
@mrlivingstons1 Have you heard of the Early Church Fathers? They are men who lived in the first seven centuries or so of Christianity whose writings have survived to present day. Some of them, such as Ignatius of Antioch, were even direct disciples under Apostles (John in this case). I find that they are an especially helpful resource in ascertaining the correct meaning of Scripture.
@cburton103 Yes I have heard of them and they have some beautiful writings. They are a helpful source and provide firm facts when it comes to building the foundations of the church.
@mrlivingstons1 Have you not found them to be overwhelmingly Catholic? Many of the Protestant ministers that have converted to Catholicism in recent years have done so in large part as a result of reading the Early Church Fathers.
@mrlivingstons1 It's hard for me to imagine someone today understanding exactly what the New Testament means better than those who lived in the same culture and age as Jesus himself. Some of the Early Church Fathers were even taught by the Apostles. At some point, we all need to realize that Jesus already laid down a foundation for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and that this foundation was Peter. Let us all follow Jesus more intimately by joining His Church. I'll pray for you, GB
@cburton103 You also have to put into correct context for what they are meaning to say. Read the bible, research the original language, apply it. Don't take one little snippet from the bible or our founding fathers and make a whole doctrine off of it. Put the entire work in one piece so you get full meaning.
@mrlivingstons1 I certainly agree. Everything belongs in a particular context which encompasses all of the parts you mentioned - the totality of the Bible, the original language and audience, etc. However, when an individual truly does this they cannot honestly remain far from the Church Christ founded on Peter. For this reason, a very prominent Protestant convert to Catholicism in the 20th century said, "To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant". Your thoughts?
There is a core doctrine that every protestant ought to answer for themselves. How do you know what the christian faith is? If you answer "the bible told me", who told you that's where you should go? Did Jesus tell us that the bible is our rule of faith? Jesus said that he was the final authority (above the Torah), and he gave that interpret authority to his apostles. Whoever hears you, hears me!, Jesus said. Jesus established his church? Are you in this church? Are you member of Holy Catholic Ch
no Bible verse offered denied any bit of the doctrine of purgatory. and you misquoted the Bible by saying it says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" Paul says he would RATHER be present with the Lord. Hopefully you misquoted the Bible on accident, and did not do so intentionally in an deceptive attempt to convert people to your beliefs.
You are DIRECTLY taking away from what Christ did on the cross. You are taking "Christ" out of the community of new believers. According to purgatory, Christ would not have had to die. To get a theory of purgatory, you have to pick, select, and twist verses out of context to make a weak point. Can't you just accept that salvation was a free gift, paid for. I invite you believers to rejoice with all us other believers in the body of Christ (not a specific church). :)
@mrlivingstons1 How do you suggest that Purgatory means that Christ did not have to die? Purgatory is simply a state where those who die in the grace and friendship of God are purified (by God, not their own works) are purged of their sins before entering Heaven, because nothing unclean can enter Heaven (Rev 21:27). Purgatory is not a second chance. At most, you can claim that you believe that our sins our purged instantaneously when we commit them, but this contrary to what Jesus taught. GB
@cburton103 --Truth. Purgatory is very much needed considering that even though a man may die saved, he is not 100% detatched from his inclination to sin; Purg. is the salvation process continued after death for the elect.
@cburton103 First of all, if there was a purgatory, Christ and/or the Gospel would have specifically talked about it. The bible really has no verse suggesting it. In Rev 21:27, you need to read the whole verse or even chapter in correct context. It specifies nothing impure will enter heaven. Christ made us pure by washing away our sins (1 Corinth 1:30). Nothing else can purify us of our sins.
@mrlivingstons1 I agree, nothing but Christ's death and resurrection has the power to free us from our sins. Nothing. God chose to use Purgatory (or whatever name you may use for a post-death removal of impurities) to impart this removal of sinful nature.
However, it is mentioned implicitly several times in the Gospel. Mt 12:32: what is the "age to come"? It can't be heaven, because there are no sins to be forgiven in heaven. And verse 36: people will render an account for their empty words.
@cburton103 It is imperitive that you know the structure of the Greek language. Here (vv 32) it is talking about both what protestants and catholics call the unforgivable sin. It is simply stating an absence of faith and/or belief will not be forgiven for all eternity (2 Peter 2:21). This verse actually contradicts Purgatory because according to Catholicism, mortal sins cannot be forgiven in Purgatory.
@cburton103 Sorry, also verse 36 is talking about the Day of Judgement. We will have to give account to our wrong actions bringing judgement upon us. After Judgement however, both catholic and protestant doctrine agree that Christ covers us from Judgement. This leaves no room for purgatory to take place as it is.
@mrlivingstons1 How does this leave no room for Christ to purify us through His love? We all must become clean before we enter heaven. If we are not perfectly clean when we leave earth, when and how would you suggest that we are made clean? God bless.
@cburton103 Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. Hmmmm did i misread that?? No, seems pretty clear to me. Also Matt 8:17 this was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." Why can't you accept grace?
@mrlivingstons1 I think you misunderstand what Catholics call Purgatory. It is simply a state in which people who die in God's grace and friendship but whose wills are not perfectly aligned to God's will (aka have unrepented sins on their soul) go to be purified before entering heaven. The power by which we are purified is Christ's. He removes our impurities/infirmities/iniquities, just as the verses you quote above describe. When would you suggest we are made clean from unrepented sins? GB
@cburton103 I do not misunderstand. I have been involved with the catholic church for years in my childhood. The point I am trying to make is nobody throughout the history of Christianity/Judaism (old and new testament) was forgiven without a sacrifice. Christ was the ultimate sacrifice. Nothing else aside from him can make us pure, and if you think there is, you are putting that in front of Christ. Purgatory has nothing to do with Christ forgiving us either. Its a belief in purification by fire
@mrlivingstons1 You're not so much disagreeing with the actual doctrine of Purgatory as you are disagreeing with your misinterpretation of the doctrine. Purgatory is the means by which Christ purifies us after death, not something we place in front of Him.
Venial sins are forgiven/purified out of our souls in Purgatory, among other impurities, so you were incorrect in what you said.
Please answer the question I asked you so that I may understand your position more fully. May God bless you.
@cburton103 I believe Christ's last words, "It is finished." This opened the door to Christianity. Christ covered our sins past present and future. It is attoned for. I dont see a problem with the catholic who believes in purgatory for it is not a first level doctrine and does not affect ones salvation for their belief in it. The bottom line is that both protestant and catholic must affirm that attonment for sin is only brought through Our Lord Christ. God Bless cburton103 :)
@mrlivingstons1 Indeed, Christ is our only Redeemer. With this very central common belief, let us all work towards the unity that Christ desires for us (John 17) so that the world may come to know Him. God bless you, mrlivingstons, and your walk with Christ.
@cburton103 I completely agree. Nothing is going to get accomplished without unification in the body of Christ. It is the mission of Christ's body of believers to bring the message of the Gospel to everyone. God bless cburton103, and praying for you :)
@VictoryInJesus454 catholic (lowercase) was the word meaning "universal" and was used in early writings of the church. It did not signify one physical Church, but rather one church united in Christ (Matt:16:18). When we read through Corinthians, it explains that many will try and cause divisions in the church and we need to accept them back as a loving brother. We are called as believers to be not one specific church, but rather one body (1 corinth 12:17) united in Christ's truth.
I don't know what denomination you belong to my dear brother, I as a Catholic Love you In Jesus Christ too. However, i have a question for you regarding the comments about the PURGATORY you are making... It is true that we should follow what the bible says... i agree with you on this particular point, but now my question to you is: Follow what which bible says? because there are soooo many versions of the bible. If you are a non Catholic you are missing 7 books from the bible. So... Which bible?
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for your sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have eternal life
I am sure you are well-intentioned, but you have no idea what the Word of God means. No non-Catholic "Christian" does. If they did, they would become Catholic. You have been taught lies, and now you spread these lies not realizing the damage you are doing.
"go by what the church teaches or by what the bible teaches?" Im confused here sir did Jesus say he was giving us a church or a book? last I read Jesus was giving us a church not a book, the church was instituted by Jesus and it is through the church that the bible was given so I will stick to what the church says first(since the bible is one thin but it doesnt have everything written in it) you speak of the Trinity where in the bible does it say the word trinity? yep the catholic church gave it
Something else to consider - you speak about how thankful you are that God has given us His Word. How was this word delivered to mankind, and how can you be sure of what books should be in the Bible? Whether you realize it or not, you must trust in the authority that God gave to the Catholic Church to discern which books should be included in the canon at the Council of Hippo in 393, and later reaffirmed in 397, 419, and 1545. It was not until the Reformation that the deuterocanon was removed
I appreciate your charitable intentions for making this video. However, if you're going to talk about someone else's beliefs, please make sure you have them correct. Purgatory is not a second chance to accept Jesus (CCC 1030). Instead, it is a state after life on earth where, by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, our souls are purified so that they may enter Heaven, where nothing unclean shall enter (Rev 21:27).
Matt 12:32 - What is this "age to come"? God bless you and your walk with him.
Actually it is in the Bible, 1 Cor 3:15. It is also alluded to in many other places. Jews even before Christ believed in a post-life purification, so did the early Christians. Speaking of which you mentioned the word trinity in the video? The word trinity is not in the bible...where did you get that from. Actually it came from the Catholic Church. Lets all thank God for the gift of His One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church He gave us.
Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the sole rule of faith? Sola Scriptura is a demonic heresy that has caused untold division in Christianity since the Middle Ages when it was dreamed up. You obviously love Jesus and His Word, so why do you reject His claim that the gates of Hell shall never prevail against the Church He founded on Peter? (Please don't go the petros/petra route, as Jesus spoke in Aramaic, not Greek).
@mrlivingstons1 Haha now you've lured me into another topic; Oral Tradition. Paul attests to Tradition in 2 Thess 2:15 when he commands us to stand fast in the spoken word and the written word - Oral Tradition and the books of the Bible. The way you've portrayed Oral Tradition wouldn't work well. Thanks be to God, this isn't the way it works. In His infinite wisdom, God sends the Apostles the Paraclete in order to keep them mindful of all truth (Jn 14). The HS removes human error from Oral T. GB
The Church doesn't say that you can't go directly to heaven. However, the only way you can go directly to heaven is if you die in a state of grace without a single imperfection resting upon your soul. The Book of Revelations says that nothing unclean shall enter heaven. Nothing. So for a man who has committed a sin that is not worthy of total damnation and had not yet repented of it will go to Purgatory to be purged of his desire to sin and there be made perfect.
Yes I have... Yes there is? 1 Cor 3:10-15 your works will be judged. You should also look at the early christian fathers. I have a series, called Questions For Catholics. For purgatory, you should watch part 4or 5, I thnk. Actually... what the heck... Watch all of them, and rate subscribe and comment. :D
@bdplist and what replaced circumsision gee was It Baptism a work . Your works do not avail anything better read Mathew 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.'
@kjvjay They ones who thought they were saved were not Goats. The ones who didn’t know they were saved were. Sheep who believed in charity as Paul said Charity is greater than faith. And Faith without works is dead
Are there any other Protestant Christians Reading these comments ? That have Kindness in their hearts that can Help @ bdplist understand that the Blood of Christ Jesus is for all people and it is God who will Judge the hearts of man
I know there are many Protestant Christian people that can be like minded on many things with Catholic Christians like the Blood of Christ
Please speak up so this can be more posative ~ Thanks
@bdplist You are so anti Church ~ You should just get up early one Sunday and go ~ it really a blessing to go youl feel better about your relationship with God and you wont feel threttend by Catholic Christians ~ Catholic Christians accept Protestant Christians ~ we see them as Brothers in Christ ~ I see you as a Brother in Christ ~ You just dont see me as Saved ~ Tho i have asked Jesus into my Heart ~ i am glad it will be God at Judgement day because you have already judged me as un~saved
@bdplist I acepted Jesus as my personal Savior ~ I live my life for God ~ unlike you I go to Church every week~ I share my faith to others ~ I know i have sinned and that Jesus will forgive me ~ I know i cannot work my way to Heaven~ He is the way truth & life ~ i dont worship idols ~ i worship God & God alone~ i try to help the needy ~ I try to feed the poor ~ I help the old ~ I do all these things not to get to Heaven but because it is God i really do these things unto ~ I am converted
Why is ur Righteousness NOT FILTHY RAGS as God has said?
ANS_______
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in NO CASE ENTER into the kingdom of heaven.
Does your RIGHTEOUSNESS EXCEED that of the scribes?
Romans 10 they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away
What you need is:
Romans 3:22 the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ
@bdplist~ I dont trust in myself ~ i just dont go around saying Im Righteous like you
I say im a sinner who puts my faith in Christ Jesus and i told you i leave it up to God to declare my Righteousness for it is He you knows the heart and Judges me
By the way going to the back of your New King James bible to the Ref. section and getting all your verses to post is way to easy we can all do that ~ I know the Righteousness Verses too
@streyteam better go read what I said again. While you are at it re read those Holy Scriptures again
You do NOT put your Faith in Christ your Faith is in your works and when you decide that you have performed enough good works then maybe just maybe you might have done enough to merit your salvation.
Your righteoussness & your Works WILL NEVER PROFIT! ISAIAH 57:12
Do you know what God thinks of your works & righteousness?
Isaiah 64 all our righteousnesses are as FILTHY RAGS
You wont name your Church ~ Your channel has no name ~ No uploads ~ No city ~ No Picture ~ You are a snake in the grass you come out and strike then go back in the grass ~ You are afraid and alone and reply with tons of Scriptures when you are scared~you get your ansers from the books around you ~ You are self taught and it shows~You need to find a Church and Go~Im sure you have never lead anyone to Christ with your method of Self Righteousness
@bdplist Well we are all sinners and sin seperates us from God ~ i dont throw Bible Verses around carelessly but here is one i know you know it John 3:16 ~ that says alot on its own~ so Christ Died for our sins ~ But we must turn away from sin ~ But when we fall we can confess our sin to God He is Faithful to forgive us ~ This is a very short reply to a very large topic ~ These are the same ansers you would here if you went to Church ~ and im not under a sentence Im covered in Gods Grace
@bdplist You are a person that is very confused ~ you have such a self Righteousness you are Blinded~ If you cannot understand that answer its proof you dont spend time with other Christians ~ you can never agree on anything regarding God even His Saving Blood ( even when someone is kind to you you spit venom back )
Be wary of only quoting John 5:24 "..he who ..believes him who sent me ..does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life".

Where in the Bible does it say that you should only follow the Bible?
hnoel79 3 weeks ago 2

We preach to those who are dead spiritually bec Gods word is powerfull and alive.
joab302016 3 weeks ago
@Archangelatis I do not see the point you are making when you cited John 6:53-58. You elaborate to me if you like.
joab302016 3 weeks ago
@Archangelatis when you preach, what actually you are doing is teaching new information to your listeners. When you preach, you are trying to emphasize a point that is relevant to you and to your listener. When you pray, you are talking to God.
joab302016 3 weeks ago
@joab302016 You have ignored your audience and the message that God sent you to convey;which is always the good news of Salvation. When you pray you pray for a purpose, and you can pray for their Salvation.
The point is if they Can be preached too, there is Hope and there is always prayer.Who are you to decide otherwise?
Archangelatis 3 weeks ago
@Archangelatis do you pray for your loved ones who are already dead physically in order for them to enter heaven? Can you confirm/deny that the RC Church is trying to get souls out of purgatory by praying Hail Mary, Our Father, and other traditional catholic prayers?
joab302016 3 weeks ago
@joab302016 Yes to both questions.St Paul prayers for his dead friend too.2 Timothy 1:16-18.
I have a question for you:what were the reasons for Francis J Beckwith, former President of the Evangelical Theological Society converting to Catholicism?
Archangelatis 3 weeks ago
@Archangelatis Mr.Francis conversion to RC doesn't mean anything to me. Im sure it means a lot for you. A lot of Roman Catholic priests are converting to Islam, not only RC priests but also protestant ministers. If conversion from one faith to another faith is a measuring stick for you, then does it mean that those religion that takes many converts are always right? Don't forget wide is the road that leads to destruction. Lets get back to the Lord Jesus. He is the salvation.
joab302016 3 weeks ago
@joab302016 I did not ask what it means to you.I asked what were his reasons?
You ask a question(and i answered yours),I ask a question.Its a good way to debate and understand.
Archangelatis 3 weeks ago
I feel I do not want to pursue this topic any longer. I was asking a series of questions to you, not just asking in order to have a debate. I feel that the body of Christ given its diversity should not focus on debating each other but accept that for a certain degree it was meant from the beginning that His body is to be diverse. As long as you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and you get His salvation not by other peoples merit but as a grace given to each of us.

Strangely, it's quite a relief.
farsight001 1 month ago

SleepingSun27 1 month ago

But praying for purgatory is.

greyspot00 3 months ago
@greyspot00 How dare you call someone's beliefs and practices "garbage". That's incredibly insensitive and without base. Catholics trust Jesus - that's why they stay Catholic, because it's the Church he created and continues to maintain through the workings of the Holy Spirit. This video is full of errors, so please don't base your opinion of Catholics on people who don't know what they're talking about.
cburton103 2 months ago
@cburton103

I don't think it could be much clearer.
cburton103 2 months ago
@cburton103
Taking the book of James in context, he is pointing out that "you see," man sees, that he is justified because his actions changed. The majority of the book of James is simply pointing out that a changed life is evidence for a saved soul. The Bible never says that salvation comes by works.
greyspot00 2 months ago
@greyspot00 --James 2 also give examples of justification by works by reminding us of Abraham and Rahab and what they did; So its not "we mistakenly see" we are made just by works, we really are, because God is very generous. But let me say that as justification is not by faith alone, it likewise is not by works alone- at all.
Archangel866 2 months ago
@greyspot00 We are saved by God's grace alone. We receive this grace by responding to God's call with faith and works.
Please address James 2:24 specifically: "Do you see that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only?"
God bless.
cburton103 2 months ago
@greyspot00 --If you can find for me "we are saved by faith alone" in the New Testament, I will join your church. But know that all prooftext verses that do not have the word "alone" in it will not be considered. Also know that I have challenged many protestants before with this offer, and they also have all failed. A Catholic I remain.
Archangel866 2 months ago 2
@Archangel866
Eph 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.
greyspot00 2 months ago
@greyspot00 --Eph 2 is speaking of initial salvation, which no man can gain for himself. Faith is a gift from God given in the sacrament of Baptism, not something we try to muster up on the way to an "altar call". And, because God is generous, he chose to continually justify us by the good works he perpared for us to do, as taught in James 2 24 "we are made just by works and not by faith alone".
Archangel866 2 months ago
@greyspot00 --Martin Luther, who could read James in the Greek (I assume), knew exactly what James was saying, thats why he wanted to remove James from his own translation of the Bible, but his friends urged him to keep it in.
Archangel866 2 months ago
@Archangel866
(Ran out of room!)
So, the text includes faith, and excludes works, which means that faith is by itself, alone. Feel free to place any other ridiculous restrictions on God otherwise (I know he didn't use your choice of vocabulary), but if you have to jump through hoops to avoid the clear teaching of Scripture, something is wrong.
greyspot00 2 months ago
@greyspot00 --Also, faith itself is a "work", as taught by our Divine Messiah: "The work of God is this, that you believe on the One he sent".
Archangel866 2 months ago
@Archangel866
How is faith work?

Then why is it that when it comes to specific verses (not passages) that the catholic church makes up blown up - out of proportion doctrine? Examples: Holy water, purgatory, saints with the ability for divine intervention, transubstantiation, and the formation of a clergical hiearchy? Now, i am not blaming only catholics on this. Some protestant churches have faulty doctrines by taking things out of context. Speaking in toungues, Faith alone, earthly perfectionism, alter calls, etc etc
mrlivingstons1 6 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 The Catholic Church does not look to the Bible as the basis of her beliefs, but Jesus himself. Coincidentally, the Bible itself came from the Catholic Church, not the other way around.
The Bible does not claim that it (the Bible) is the pillar and ground of truth. It says that the church is (1 Tim 3:15) - the same church that Christ founded upon Peter, which we know today as the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. God bless.
cburton103 6 months ago
@cburton103 We look at the first verse in the book of John which states that the Word is Christ. With this, you must affirm that the bible is head authority for teaching because it is Christ's words (absolute truth). Without the bible, the church would have no truth to teach unless it is falsified truth. True apostolic sucession is God's word being taught from generation to generation and making followers of Christ. Its not an institution friend.
mrlivingstons1 5 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 Jesus is the head authority, not a book, even if it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The problem comes in when people try to interpret the Bible for themselves, apart from the constant witness of the Church throughout the ages.
If the Bible was meant to be our head authority, then why are there so many interpretations of it amongst Protestants, and how can we know whose is correct?
cburton103 5 months ago
@cburton103 Im sorry it took me so long to reply. A lot of things have been going on in my life at the moment. The reason why there are so many denominations is they dont study the word sistematically (looking at the whole of scripture). This is why we as christians need to have firm knowlege on what the whole of scripture says on an idea, not just part of it. God did not make his truth hard to understand for us, he wants us to continue to understand throughout the ages.
mrlivingstons1 5 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 I'm sorry to hear that life's been tough for you recently, I'll pray that you continue to trust in God through these times.
I agree that many denominations don't study the Bible systematically. However, even if they did, different people will still have different interpretations in certain areas. I think that our situation is similar to the story of the Ethiopian eunuch who needed someone to teach him. Do you not think we too need someone to teach us like in Acts 8:26-40?
cburton103 5 months ago
I dont see a problem with oral tradition. With the verses you presented, it supports this claim. However, we need to be testing traditions we hold onto in the church with the Holy Scripture. We must put to the test every practice in the church with Holy Scripture just as the Barrians did (Acts 17:11) when they overlooked Paul's teachings. This then, does not affirm that whatever tradition created is completely without error. It needs to be tested by the HS so it does corraberate with God's word.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 I agree. The Bible is inerrant, so when it is understood correctly no tradition should contradict it in any way. Here's the key question that arises: How do we know if we are interpreting the Bible correctly? I do not doubt that the majority of Protestants are well-meaning in their exegesis, but the simple fact of the matter is that the way some people privately interpret Scripture contradicts the way others do. How do we achieve unity under a system of private interpretation? GB
cburton103 7 months ago

I find that they are an especially helpful resource in ascertaining the correct meaning of Scripture.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 Yes I have heard of them and they have some beautiful writings. They are a helpful source and provide firm facts when it comes to building the foundations of the church.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 Have you not found them to be overwhelmingly Catholic? Many of the Protestant ministers that have converted to Catholicism in recent years have done so in large part as a result of reading the Early Church Fathers.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 Yes they are. This is why I said I use them only as reference.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 It's hard for me to imagine someone today understanding exactly what the New Testament means better than those who lived in the same culture and age as Jesus himself. Some of the Early Church Fathers were even taught by the Apostles. At some point, we all need to realize that Jesus already laid down a foundation for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and that this foundation was Peter. Let us all follow Jesus more intimately by joining His Church. I'll pray for you, GB
cburton103 7 months ago 11
@cburton103 You also have to put into correct context for what they are meaning to say. Read the bible, research the original language, apply it. Don't take one little snippet from the bible or our founding fathers and make a whole doctrine off of it. Put the entire work in one piece so you get full meaning.
mrlivingstons1 6 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 I certainly agree. Everything belongs in a particular context which encompasses all of the parts you mentioned - the totality of the Bible, the original language and audience, etc. However, when an individual truly does this they cannot honestly remain far from the Church Christ founded on Peter. For this reason, a very prominent Protestant convert to Catholicism in the 20th century said, "To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant". Your thoughts?
cburton103 6 months ago

Hopefully you misquoted the Bible on accident, and did not do so intentionally in an deceptive attempt to convert people to your beliefs.
dsjpk55 7 months ago
To the comments below:
You are DIRECTLY taking away from what Christ did on the cross. You are taking "Christ" out of the community of new believers. According to purgatory, Christ would not have had to die. To get a theory of purgatory, you have to pick, select, and twist verses out of context to make a weak point. Can't you just accept that salvation was a free gift, paid for. I invite you believers to rejoice with all us other believers in the body of Christ (not a specific church). :)
mrlivingstons1 8 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 How do you suggest that Purgatory means that Christ did not have to die? Purgatory is simply a state where those who die in the grace and friendship of God are purified (by God, not their own works) are purged of their sins before entering Heaven, because nothing unclean can enter Heaven (Rev 21:27). Purgatory is not a second chance. At most, you can claim that you believe that our sins our purged instantaneously when we commit them, but this contrary to what Jesus taught. GB
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 --Truth. Purgatory is very much needed considering that even though a man may die saved, he is not 100% detatched from his inclination to sin; Purg. is the salvation process continued after death for the elect.
VictoryInJesus454 7 months ago
@cburton103 First of all, if there was a purgatory, Christ and/or the Gospel would have specifically talked about it. The bible really has no verse suggesting it. In Rev 21:27, you need to read the whole verse or even chapter in correct context. It specifies nothing impure will enter heaven. Christ made us pure by washing away our sins (1 Corinth 1:30). Nothing else can purify us of our sins.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 I agree, nothing but Christ's death and resurrection has the power to free us from our sins. Nothing. God chose to use Purgatory (or whatever name you may use for a post-death removal of impurities) to impart this removal of sinful nature.
However, it is mentioned implicitly several times in the Gospel. Mt 12:32: what is the "age to come"? It can't be heaven, because there are no sins to be forgiven in heaven. And verse 36: people will render an account for their empty words.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 It is imperitive that you know the structure of the Greek language. Here (vv 32) it is talking about both what protestants and catholics call the unforgivable sin. It is simply stating an absence of faith and/or belief will not be forgiven for all eternity (2 Peter 2:21). This verse actually contradicts Purgatory because according to Catholicism, mortal sins cannot be forgiven in Purgatory.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@cburton103 Sorry, also verse 36 is talking about the Day of Judgement. We will have to give account to our wrong actions bringing judgement upon us. After Judgement however, both catholic and protestant doctrine agree that Christ covers us from Judgement. This leaves no room for purgatory to take place as it is.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 How does this leave no room for Christ to purify us through His love? We all must become clean before we enter heaven. If we are not perfectly clean when we leave earth, when and how would you suggest that we are made clean? God bless.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. Hmmmm did i misread that?? No, seems pretty clear to me. Also Matt 8:17 this was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." Why can't you accept grace?
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 I think you misunderstand what Catholics call Purgatory. It is simply a state in which people who die in God's grace and friendship but whose wills are not perfectly aligned to God's will (aka have unrepented sins on their soul) go to be purified before entering heaven. The power by which we are purified is Christ's. He removes our impurities/infirmities/iniquities, just as the verses you quote above describe. When would you suggest we are made clean from unrepented sins? GB
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 I do not misunderstand. I have been involved with the catholic church for years in my childhood. The point I am trying to make is nobody throughout the history of Christianity/Judaism (old and new testament) was forgiven without a sacrifice. Christ was the ultimate sacrifice. Nothing else aside from him can make us pure, and if you think there is, you are putting that in front of Christ. Purgatory has nothing to do with Christ forgiving us either. Its a belief in purification by fire
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 You're not so much disagreeing with the actual doctrine of Purgatory as you are disagreeing with your misinterpretation of the doctrine. Purgatory is the means by which Christ purifies us after death, not something we place in front of Him.
Venial sins are forgiven/purified out of our souls in Purgatory, among other impurities, so you were incorrect in what you said.
Please answer the question I asked you so that I may understand your position more fully. May God bless you.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 I believe Christ's last words, "It is finished." This opened the door to Christianity. Christ covered our sins past present and future. It is attoned for. I dont see a problem with the catholic who believes in purgatory for it is not a first level doctrine and does not affect ones salvation for their belief in it. The bottom line is that both protestant and catholic must affirm that attonment for sin is only brought through Our Lord Christ. God Bless cburton103 :)
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 Indeed, Christ is our only Redeemer. With this very central common belief, let us all work towards the unity that Christ desires for us (John 17) so that the world may come to know Him. God bless you, mrlivingstons, and your walk with Christ.
cburton103 7 months ago
@cburton103 I completely agree. Nothing is going to get accomplished without unification in the body of Christ. It is the mission of Christ's body of believers to bring the message of the Gospel to everyone. God bless cburton103, and praying for you :)
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago
@mrlivingstons1 --Jesus intituted the Catholic Church specifically; It is intended to be mans spiritual home while on earth.
VictoryInJesus454 7 months ago
@VictoryInJesus454 catholic (lowercase) was the word meaning "universal" and was used in early writings of the church. It did not signify one physical Church, but rather one church united in Christ (Matt:16:18). When we read through Corinthians, it explains that many will try and cause divisions in the church and we need to accept them back as a loving brother. We are called as believers to be not one specific church, but rather one body (1 corinth 12:17) united in Christ's truth.
mrlivingstons1 7 months ago

If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for your sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have eternal life
gramosjr7 9 months ago
I am sure you are well-intentioned, but you have no idea what the Word of God means. No non-Catholic "Christian" does. If they did, they would become Catholic. You have been taught lies, and now you spread these lies not realizing the damage you are doing.

"go by what the church teaches or by what the bible teaches?" Im confused here sir did Jesus say he was giving us a church or a book? last I read Jesus was giving us a church not a book, the church was instituted by Jesus and it is through the church that the bible was given so I will stick to what the church says first(since the bible is one thin but it doesnt have everything written in it) you speak of the Trinity where in the bible does it say the word trinity? yep the catholic church gave it
mgk22 10 months ago
Something else to consider - you speak about how thankful you are that God has given us His Word. How was this word delivered to mankind, and how can you be sure of what books should be in the Bible? Whether you realize it or not, you must trust in the authority that God gave to the Catholic Church to discern which books should be included in the canon at the Council of Hippo in 393, and later reaffirmed in 397, 419, and 1545. It was not until the Reformation that the deuterocanon was removed
cburton103 10 months ago
I appreciate your charitable intentions for making this video. However, if you're going to talk about someone else's beliefs, please make sure you have them correct. Purgatory is not a second chance to accept Jesus (CCC 1030). Instead, it is a state after life on earth where, by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, our souls are purified so that they may enter Heaven, where nothing unclean shall enter (Rev 21:27).
Matt 12:32 - What is this "age to come"? God bless you and your walk with him.
cburton103 10 months ago
Actually it is in the Bible, 1 Cor 3:15. It is also alluded to in many other places. Jews even before Christ believed in a post-life purification, so did the early Christians. Speaking of which you mentioned the word trinity in the video? The word trinity is not in the bible...where did you get that from. Actually it came from the Catholic Church. Lets all thank God for the gift of His One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church He gave us.
May the Lord grant you His peace.
redbaron998 11 months ago
Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the sole rule of faith? Sola Scriptura is a demonic heresy that has caused untold division in Christianity since the Middle Ages when it was dreamed up. You obviously love Jesus and His Word, so why do you reject His claim that the gates of Hell shall never prevail against the Church He founded on Peter? (Please don't go the petros/petra route, as Jesus spoke in Aramaic, not Greek).

mrlivingstons1 7 months ago

@Childinfaith That is why Jesus Christ came here, to make us clean.
1 John 1:7 the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
You will never cleanse yourself you are already filthy with sin.
