k-3D really is a terrible program to use for 3D animation, and I really am a terrible instructor. This is the only time I have ever tried 3D animating in my life, and I did it like stop-motion, where I changed the model slightly and took a photo, then ran all of the photos together.

Well, I inserted a sphere, increased the radius, added a ring, increased its major radius, decreased its minor radius, increased the sphere's radius again, then altered the orientation of the ring
On the left is a big bottom panel, a small middle panel and a small top panel. Once you've inserted an object, its name appears in that middle panel. Click on that name, and the bottom panel fills with options.

It's easer to use then some other 3D modeling software, but yeah apart from that it's pretty bad.
