  • I can relate my son does the same exact thing!!

  • Hi. Is wearing a helmet of sorts an option? It must be so hard to watch your child doing something like this. My 6 y/o bites himself when frustrated. While still small, we forcibly prevent him from continuing.

Unlike the typical trait of having a very strict routine, my son, and I suspect your daughter too, gets bored easily and want new things constantly. Music through headphones works sometimes as the varied sounds and cohesiveness of music helps him focus and relax.

  • This is good you show this side of autism, this is a side few people ever see and it's something you need a lot of help and support with .....it's highly complex....you're doging a good job I know this type of self abuse must be very hard, my son does the exact same sib pounding his face...love how dog comforts her! Will she respond if you tell her <"NO!:" I'm sure you've done this already...

  • Yes, I don't show her injurious side much, because her head becomes swollen, bloody, red, looks like she was in a brawl most of the time but probably show more in the future. No unfortunely, "No" doesn't work, sometimes redirecting, sometimes, I feel like only thing that helps is holding her down as she bites and slams her head into my head. This video was because she was bored, it is so hard to determine what is causing these behaviors. Thanks though, any advice, would love to hear!

  • its so sweet how the doggies go to help her. my head was hurting everytime she hit her head :(
