  • Damn maya fucking setup...can someone tell me how I make my joints act as joints? Rotating my parent joints just change the orientation of the childs, it doesnt rotate the child arround the parent..fucking stupid behavior, on maya ple I have it normal as default, how I adjust it on maya 2010?

  • great script But You fail at informing how to individually select bones.

    Maya's default joint select grabs all bones in the parented group. so when you apply the script it affects all BONES in the chain...even the ones that are set right.

    kinda frustrated.

    Biped is too easy..this crap is too compliacted for it's own damn good.

  • very good tutorial. If you know basic rigging, no need for audio, it´s very explanatory.

    Congratz on the script as well, been using it and it´s awesome.

  • sorry for this ignorant question.. what is rigging? is the procces of adding bones to a 3D character?

  • yes a rig is the bones that make you model move. maya is very complex, the best rig is in 3d max it is called bi ped.

  • Building the skeleton is the first step. Usually there is a layer of controls added to the skeleton which makes animation easier.

  • @altfut Select the first joint of the chain, Under your animations tab, go to Skeleton>Mirror joint (from X to Y I think)

  • Not near enough detail...audio would be nice describing everything. It doesn't really set you up properly with lack of detail and where video ends.

  • PLEASE HELP ME! how the hell do people even make charecter models. I cant use that tool under the universal manipulator to make a good face or even body. Is there any other way to make bodies/faces

  • this is really hard to follow without sound, especially with the difficulty seeing the menu items in such a small video. your rigomatic tutorial is 1000 times better.
