  • my all time car is 1967 barracuda and 1968 and 1969 goes to...

  • The 71's were sooo much uglier than the 70's.

  • @TheLackofattack I traded a navigation Texas Instruments Calculator ($400 in the day) for a 1970 Challenger R/T 383 cid in 1980, Hurst package, that sat a year. Brakes were frozen, door caved in from a minor accident. Fast car, needed nothing else. This geek engineer never knew what he had, he simply asked the dealer for a stick shift car, and he bought it off the showroom floor. Later he had a 454 Monte Carlo, he thought was a 350 for years. Today, he works for $12/hr at Home Depot.

  • What do you get when you combine the most boring voice an the world describing one of the coolest cars In the world? .....Well......this.

  • wheres the golden voice when you need it?

  • nice dub over

  • yea there is no way this was a commercial

  • I think this was a promo for the dealerships to watch. It was never meant for television.

  • 1967mustanggta,

Actually the Mustang was a secretary's car,Ford even said so,Women loved them and they were priced cheap !

The reason there are more old Ford's because they were cheaper..lower cost !!

Dodge/Plymouth were always more than a Ford !

Like today the Ford trucks are cheaper, sedans and mustang G.T's are 10-15 grand cheaper than a Challenger R/T..You can buy a new Mustang GT for the price of a new low model Challenger 6 cyl...now you know why there are more Ford's...

  • Bad commercial for a good car.

  • 71 Barracuda is the best looking car ever built

  • 340 rocks my socks

  • who are the six idiots that thumbs down

  • @superlinkarts the ones without a six pack

  • I prefer Mustangs and Cougars. American men have always preferred Mustangs and Cougars. Thats all there is to it.

  • @1967mustanggta and you can have fun flooring the pedal for 20 seconds waiting for the damn things to break100 .the cuda with a hemi and the 72 lt1 corvettes were two of the quickest cars back then.the way i see it is you enjoy driving a grocery getter while the american menyou speak of enjoy power along with speed something ford has failed to do until2011.also im not trying to start shit im just saying the mustang while it looks good was a piece of shit unless you do a fair amount of work to it

  • @evanp196754 Ford did things right. The stuff was available but from the factory the car was not designed to be a rocket that caused American insurance rates to soar and get bet press in Washington. Instead the research developed two things - agreat car that held up well and performed well and a race car that on Sunday kicked ass around the world. Ford did not destroy the muscle car era -

  • Um... Is this even a real commercial?

  • need to go back in time and buy a 74 barracuda convertible and a 69 gt500 and 69 camaro ss and other cars that are worth alot now ie. the 70 cougar eliminator and things like that they were only 3000 dollars new hell if you took back 50k and had what you bought then now all original you would be a millionaire lol

  • Now thats fucking class right there !

  • this guy sounds like the one on the new dodge commercials

  • @nelson4568 i think they tried to make it sound like this guy on the new commercials

  • sounds more like an infomecial.

  • That was a very bad commercial

  • not quit as flambioant as the dodge comercials sounds like the guy from ferris beulers day off!

    bueler?bueler?bueler?bueler?

  • What a lame commercial for such a cool car!

  • It looks like a monster! Dang if I lived in that time period I would've thought this car was a bargain becuase I looks so sick!

  • this guy puts me to sleep the first 3 seconds

  • holy crap! these comments are more entertaining than the video,..thanx everybody, u kno who u r... your ignorant hatred towards each other is sad but funny

  • @beatcat22 a lotus handles great, but is like sitting inside a blender. big cars are more comfortable. and a cuda handles better than any european car from 1971. the 911 had 110 hp by then and it was known for being dangerous to drive.

  • @machone7I A workmate of mine used to have an old Cuda and he said it was ok to drive but the suspension was far away from what we call sporty today. The brakes were too small and especially the models with the big 426-Hemi were too heavy in the front. They had a dry weight of nearly 1.6 tons! It was very fast on a straight line but when it comes to a curve...

I think every old 911, Mercedes 280 SL or Ferrari of this time had a better handling.

  • @MrLowAltitude thats a cuda. there were 340 cudas, and the 71 mach 1 351 cobra jet was well weight distributed and it had disk brakes on the front. it had a quite good handling, ive driven a 71 911 and really, its not easy. the 280 sl was also heavy, specially on the front, and not fast at all. its brakes werent very good either.

  • @machone7I

Well, I also know a few facts about the 280 SL: It had disk brakes on all four wheels and was around 200-250Kg lighter than a 'cuda.

    But let's stop fighting...

Classic cars like a 'Cuda, an old Mercedes or an italian one don't have to be perfect. Isn't it the little faults like bad suspension or poor brakes that makes the character of a classic car?

Most of today's cars are very similar to drive, look similar and so on, most of them don't have a real character anymore...

  • @MrLowAltitude agreed. thats completely true.

  • Oops...19...nineTEEN....thats explains it.

  • i prefer the 70 also. this announcer guy sounds so dang blahhh...wonder how long he kept his job.

  • this sure is a very exiteing comercial

  • Actually I liked the 1970 better

  • I agree

  • cool car but fuck that guys voice is boring

  • Idiot kid

  • Fuck you, and your worthless comment.

  • Yeah..thats what Id expect from a little kid..."fuck you"...shows childish intelligence. But that's okay...I was an asshole when I was in my early 20's also....then I grew up.

  • me an asshole? tell me wise old man, what in my first comment was so bad that it required you to reply with "idiot kid" ? My age explains the reason for my comment about the obviously unenthusiastic voice in the video? Hmm..THAT makes complete sense. Maybe its you from back in '71 speaking. Sorry if I hurt your feelings grand father barracuda.

  • Actually I never had a Cuda...TA's, Camaros and Vettes. And...youre just an idiot...simply. Have a nice day.

  • never said you owned one, put your reading bifocals on. Hmm..you end it just like that with no reason behind your mindless comment. You must go across youtube taking your anger out on the younger generation to make yourself feel better about living in a retirement home.

  • I can keep this up forever. However Im much too young for a retirement home, shit for brains. I realize generation X-ers are ignorant, but you should at least know that. Okay...your turn.

  • The fact you can keep this up forever does not surprise me. It does however shine light on on who the "idiot kid" really is.

  • Why dont you go check your myspace..or play some video games. Or text your friends. Its what your age group does best, isnt it?

  • i actually help the elderly, so you better watch out. I will poison your oatmeal

  • Oh shit...oatmeal with hemlock? I still prefer blueberries.

  • get a life John22133, youre obviously fighting a losing battle.

  • I see..and what are you, the referee? Who are you to decide what's "losing"?

  • wow, this is entertaining, between a kid and an adult who need to learn this little proverb, arguing on Youtube is like proving you are smarter than the rest of the autistic kids you're part of, even if you win you still are retarded, think of the points you win amongst everyone who reads this, wow... it's like being the smartest person with down syndrome, congrats to you both you have officially dropped the intelligence average of our country or where ever you live by a good factor of 10

  • Fuck off, asshole. How's that for intelligence? And you're the idiot that felt the need to respond to posts over a month old that were completely forgotten, shithead.

  • @XxGlamisDunerxX

Still better than modern day ads "0% APR due at lease signing"

  • @XxGlamisDunerxX No f-ing kidding.He escaped a televised PGA event

  • THAT THING GOT A HEMI

  • My favorite Plymouth is the Plymouth Super Bird, amazing car.

  • I've owned many mopars and have a 'cuda convertible now.

But the Superbird remains my favorite of all time.

  • sweet :)

  • how come ur a 302 fan ?

  • That was my first car. First cars always touch your heart....or at least mine

  • unless it was a FIAT

  • LOL. I stand corrected

  • I had a 71 Cuda 340, awesome car, but I made the mistake of letting someone drive and you can guess the rest...I still cry every once and a while...

  • Pass the cryin' towel.... I sold my 70 big block Challenger in 77 for $650

  • damn....its probably worth easily over 80k now

  • could be worse, i sold my 68 coronet to a guy a couple years ago and the next year he drove it into a wall one night, he still has the engine and trani but the rest of the car is history, the paint marks are still on the wall where nailed the stonework, i still haven't forgiven him...

  • that car is sweet..so much stock power its unbeliveble

  • Real video - fake audio overdub. You can hear the clearity in the overdub - clearly digital.

  • My dad has a 73 Cuda 340 i think

  • i like the 1 from the 1970s

  • Haha wow, for such an amazing car it sure did have a boring ass commercial. And shitty cars today like the Yaris get these elaborate, over exagerated movie-trailer commercials. LOL, it's all backwards.

  • my father drives a 1971 cuda with a 440... it is pretty badass!

  • Boring commercial for one of the hottest cars ever made

  • this is not a commercial, it's a dealership video made for the salespeople to familiarize them with the new model.

  • @hypermite01 This is not a human being.......this is a robot.......

  • i want one

  • me two

  • my grandpa had one =O

  • I Need Those Elastomeric Bumpers!! Someone reproduce Them Please!!!!

  • joe manix drove a 383 billboard car on his show i tried to keep up with the crashed car but lost trac of it in 1995.

  • i have a n original big block (383) Convertible, Automatic, one of one, Currently Being Restored

  • a teacher i knew in highschool (john tower ) had a real nice 71 conv 383 billboard car hech it was only a few years old then.

  • MOPAR RULES!!!!!!!!!!! (not original commercial)

  • i own the convertable one

  • fake. not an original commercial.

  • i cant pronounce bacaruda...

  • Those convertibles are very rare, and for me most beautiful especially yellow ;-)

  • yes they are, in fact the last one that came off the line that had a hemi for this year has sold for 4.1 million

  • This is part of the marketing kit Chrysler used to update sales people at dealerships so it doesn't have all the hoopla of a TV ad.

  • i like these old commercials. it's straight forward and not incredibly annoying.

  • I thought the 71 models had the round tail lights?

  • 1972-74 had round taillamps.

  • Whats up with the narrator he sounds like he hates his job or like he's a Chevy guy

  • Them 71 cudas are an aggressive looking bunch!

  • nice vid u made

  • I have an old VHS copy of this. Some guy just took old film footage and added his own Dopey voice over!Should have just left it alone!

  • This looks more like a dealership primer, than a real commercial.

  • I can't pronounce bacaruda.

  • @Charmolution

    ba-ba-ra-ra-cu-cu-da-da!!!

I have been looking for this for years...used to have it on a mixed tape in between songs. Remember mixed tapes?

  • whats a bacaruda? sounds like a card game, sorry you can't pronounce that though, whatever it is.

  • @Lamborghiniman5150 cuda is short for barracuda...and a barracuda is a fish and thats what plymouth named their car after

  • @bad65stang I know this, I was making fun of the way the charmolution spelled it up at the top of the comments.

  • @Lamborghiniman5150

oh haha i fugured something was up i didnt think anyone was that dumb i thought it was some little kid or something lol

  • Heh, no "Coming Through" slogan? I thought they put that on all the Chrysler/Plymouth commercials for '71.
