Like it will never go away - and I can't see myself living a normal life with a normal job. And then i got depressed by that and now i just started on medication. And it just feels like I'm the only one in the hole world that is feeling that way, even though i know I'm not alone.
(Sorry if my english is a little of)
But really - Go talk to somebody, a psychologist or something. It really helps just to get it out!!
It's really nice to read all the comments, makes you feel that you're not alone.
I have had panic attacks for a year and a half - but probably most of my life, I just didn't know what it was when i were younger (I'm 20 now).
I know go to a psychologist and have done that for a year. It started to get better at one point but then i started getting the attacks again - and I just feel that all hope is gone when i get the attacks.
I'm having one now. I turn to these videos when I'm afraid & reading the comments, knowing I'm not alone helps too! My mum is brilliant at calming me down but I don't want to keep waking her up as mine occur at night. I need to learn how to control them when I'm on my own, feels impossible.
i use to have them alot. but if she start get one . say to.yourself im stronger then this and im not gonna die eventually it will pass. i still get nervous in public places but i wont let myself get a panic attack again. i used to carry a bottle of water and mouth sweets go short journeys in crowded areas because thats when they started and id first get a dry mouth. but overcome this. you have to say to yourself it will pass i am strong cause its all in your head.
Oh hey! Have you heard about - Supreme Panic Magic (do a search on google)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my auntie after a lifetime of fighting Got rid the panic issue with it.
I've been having panic attacks since I was a little kid, I thought I finally had control over them, until last week... I've been having them every day, I can't leave the house, I can't get a grip on reality and it's taking control of my life. I'm only 16, this can't be happening to me.
@Laura7AndSavanna4 im 20 and have the same problem ive been dealing with this for years i dont like leaving the house bcuz i feel i will get a panic attack but hey if we dont face this we could be afraid of this our whole life so just remember that and i just got a job 2day im gonna try and over come this bcuz i cant live the way i do
@Laura7AndSavanna4 hey i went and i think it went fine there was times i thought i was gonna have a panic attack but i just took deep breaths and talked to sumone else to get my mind off it bcuz that really helps
@Laura7AndSavanna4 I know how you feel alot people dont understand and dont seem to care feels like your alone in this world I recently just had or am having bad panic attacks as I type the best part of getting rid of it is knowing thats all it is" Its just a panic attack and it will get better I'm fighting my panic attack I havent had one this bad in like forever But I just have to fight it and hope you feel better it does suck! But theres hope just have to believe.
@Laura7AndSavanna4 hey, i have panic attacks too, its good to know we are not alone. You will cope with it.Everything will be ok.Trust me.I still have them 2 or 3 times a week from mild to sometimes severe. But through experience you will learn to cope better.Anyways take care
I was with my friends watching paranormal activity 3 in theaters at night.....and I felt I wanted get out of my seat and make a big scene....i cant breath I think im going to lose it......i close my eyes on some scene of movie....really help because I wasnt in a position to be there my friend wantef me to go there so I can at least get out of my house
Im only a teen now, I had my first panic at a amusement park... I was only 8 and had no idea what was going on.... Ever since then I always worry about if it's going to happen again. At the time, I didn't know what a "Panic Attack" was.... Me and my parents thought it was just something that was going to pass... And it did, until I got into my early teens. Where it starting happening again, probably because I was changing from elementary to middle school. I stared worrying about multiple things
@mrstealthobservation weed has been known to cause panic attacks because it increases your "self awareness"...things become exagerated & intense.....unlike alcohol, where you know every can of Budwieser or Miller will always have the same effect on you because it is made in a uniform consistant way at the brewery......weed?..different every time, not consistant. I stopped using weed 30 years ago ago....I just could not take the paranoia and panic attacks
I just had one. Its a horrible feeling. U get anxiety. U feel like your gonna die. It really sucks. What I do is lay down. Breathe in thru my nose and out my mouth. And ask God to please make it go away. Gods never failed me yet :)
first of all.....people who have panic attacks have spent their life trying to hide it from everybody. Chances are someone is having an attack and you don't even know it.....the sufferer will make up some excuse like "I have to leave now, I just remembered something I was supposed to do......any excuse to get away. Most people who have this problem have kept it well hidden. I have hidden mine for 40 years
I had some panic attacks for the first time some weeks ago probably due of too much built up stress. And it was hell. The most horrible feeling. It really feels like the oxygen is leaving your body by the moment. Your hands get a tingling feeling, your feet, legs, upper body and they become weak and go sleeping. The fear of passing out or dying increases this and you feel like your body is giving up. Only thing helps is focusing something else and breathing slow in a bag. Never want this again.
@royalsteven listen, take it from someone who knows..........if you are having panic attacks....stay off cola, coffee and even pot. In some people marijuana increases "self awareness"
I already do man! But I am sure my years addiction to sugar and coca cola didn't help! But no more coke for me. Could have had diabetes because of this. I stopped right on time. I try to eat healthy know. Only drink water, pure juice, milk and tea (without theïne). Hyperventialtion is also caused a lot because of phobia and fears. I am just a real tensed person normally, a nervous wreck so to say ahah. I try to work out more to release my built up tension! Do you have panic attacks often?
Indeed. I was drinking 6 cans also. The ironic thing is that there is no healthy nutritions in cola. It is just sugar water with caffeine. So basically it doesn't quench your thirst. You only get more thirsty and want more and more and MOOOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!?!?!?!?!
Check out the Youtube page of Tibetan meditation master Mingyur Rinpoche. He had crippling anxiety attacks as a young boy and overcame them by practicing meditation.
everytime my panic attacks comes.. i only need one person.. my husband.. i feel safe as long as he is there.. and when im far away from him.. i keep on calling him to ease my panic attack
touching me when i'm having one will end badly. i feel like everything is closed in around me and someone touching me is making my bubble worse. though sometimes i go for squeezing a person's hand....but i have to be the one to make the move
Eye contact and touch...scares the fack out of me when I am having a panic attack. I must agree with partymonstrrrr. I would be getting the hell away.
I have massive panic attacks, Very random. THE WORLD ENDS!! in my eyes.. there is no fear worse then this.
The only thing that has helped me ALOT! is...taking deep breathes in through the nose and concentrating on that very moment in time. Don't think about the past or future. Don't worry whats going to happen next just think about what is going on now.
Your your life in one frame don't try to predict the future. I promise you! everyone should try this. Its worth a shot...
You can train yourself to shut it off. Its not easy. It takes many episodes and unfortunately your not in the best state of mind while your having one.
I used to suffer from the same thing, I tried this product and it is absolutely amazing, it's way too much to get into on here, so you'll have to check it out on your own. trust me, you won't be dissapointed. I can actually go out and go shopping and participate in social activities now without having to worry about freaking out and running out embarrased lol. check it out
I suffer from agoraphobia and I definitely agree with some of the other comments... If I'm panicking, do not touch me or try to "meet my eyes". The best thing someone could do is to talk softly and calmly to me, keep some distance so I don't feel trapped or cornered, and keep other people from crowding me, staring, or making a fuss. Any attention drawn to my panicked state is only going to make the ordeal worse, and over time makes me less and less able to face the outside world.
the mind and the body are connected. period. some people can change one thing and mostly heal and most have to work on the physical and mental. Reading about Jesus Christ and knowing He created my body ,helped me. That also led me to taking supplements like calcium, magnesium, zinc and eating healthier foods with lots of potassium. spatial vestibular(ear) disorders can also cause panic attacks. i have problems with blood flow to my ears. l-theanine is good too
Anxiety attacks are just the mind afraid of losing control. The truth is that we are not in control. Just knowing this helps anxiety go away. A free book called "The Present" helped me a lot with my anxiety attacks, and understanding my mind. To find it, go to Truthcontest(dot)com and look under the entries. It is the first one.
i don't understand. When you have a panick atack, you can talk? I think i have a panick atack, but i'm not very sure. I started to have tachycardia and can't felt my senses. All the time i think i went to faint, and finally i vomit! It vas terrile, but lasted just a minute. ( sorry for my english!)
This book changed my life. I make no money from this. I suffered like you for years.
"HOPE AND HELP FOR YOUR NERVES" --DR. CLAIRE WEEKES.
You are looking for help, that is certain. Just read the reviews on Amazon, they explain the power of this little book. I was cured half-way through this book. Literally. Have not had a night time panic episode since reading it. Completely off medicine now too :) Enjoy! I found my copy for like $4.00.
When I'm having a panic attack I don't want to be touched, sometimes I want someone to be there just sitting quietly. This way I can be assured that if something goes wrong someone knows. I really hate to be touched when I'm panicking it feels like I'm being pandered too or looked down on.
I had one the previous night. For me, my heart was racing, dypsnea, and sweating. I thought I was going to die, but all I did was take deep breaths and it all went away.
I think it is important to tell them, "You are having a panic attack. I know it feels bad to you, but you are going to be ok." And if they have had them before calmly but firmly remind them, "You've had these in the past, and you've always been fine. You'll be fine this time" Speaking from experience. Had these damn things for years, and my husband learned what to say to help. I would argue with him sometimes, but he would enforce it. Eventually, I learned to say it to myself.
When I have panic attacks I do NOT want to be around someone. I find that panic attacks get worse if you keep thinking about them or talking about them. Over 90% of the time now I can stop one just by pushing it out of my mind for as long as it takes (which usually is only about 5 to 10 minutes). If that doesn't work reading is VERY effective.
I had taken the shrooms like a month or two after being dignosed. All was well. It wasn't until my 3rd 4th and 5th time I had some pretty intense panic attacks. Now my panic attacks seem like almost nothing since then. It wasnt really just the frightening experience, but the way I was able to organize my thoughts when having a panic attack on shrooms. It felt like months of psychotherapy in like an hour. I don't recommend but im confident it did help me.
I don't want to make everyone go out and do this but 'Psilocybin mushrooms' actually helped me deal with panic attacks. I never wanted to get into other substances other than marijuana but if If I had to chose i wouldve went with shrooms. Anyway I had finally been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to give myself a mental challenge.
I have had quite a few panic attacks and they usually come on out of no where. Fortunately for me, Sometimes I can almost instantly calm down and stop feeling crapp. A relaxing sense of relief.. I warn my girlfriend Im having a panic attack and that i feel crappy, then I basically take my shirt off and get my girlfriend to very lightly rub the tips of her fingers on my back ( mainly the top) to create "goosebumps" or chills.
Well i am also a panic attack ex victim. There are couple of great books out there and i had them both. And my experiance is that the book panic away and linden method was both good in curing anxiety attacks. You can view my experiance and review with this books at
I suffer from panic attacks and it is not the moment for me to be talking. I get panic attacks for no reason whatsoever. I wake up in the morning with that feeling that during the day I am going to get panic attacks. But is it just me, I used to get panic attacks 3 times a week when I was 11-13 years old. Today I am 16, and I still suffer from Panic attacks. People don't believe how horrible I get them. I wish someone would understand what I go through.
@nenitalindaaa I'm sorry you've had to experience this. I'm almost 18 and I've had them since I was 4 but I've probably only had 3 dozen panic attacks my whole life. Like with you, there's never a reason for them. I kind of feel like no one understands mine either because there seems to be so much more to them, mentally at least. It's important that you know that what's happening isn't real. By worrying about it happening, you reinforce the idea that what's happening is inevitable, but it's not
@nenitalindaaa I understand. I lived in a constant state of panic for years. People say panic attacks only last 15 minutes but that was not my experience. I was literally in constant panic with depersonalization for 3 years, with my heart rate rarely less than 90. I even panicked in my sleep, having night terrors all night long. It became agoraphobia and I locked myself in the room. I used Lucinda Basset's program. People can say what they want about her, but that program saved my life.
@nenitalindaaa it never happends to me when i'm sleeping, it should be nightmare you do . . . are you sleeping lot ? because you should do, it will maybe help you
@nenitalindaaa I still do it sometimes, too. It's like I'm not even really awake a lot of the time, because I remember it the next day when my husband reminds me. He'll ask me if I remember and I'll remember him telling me I was ok and me arguing with him and telling him I wasn't. Sometimes I come completely out of it though. It's not constant now like it was, but still happens from time to time... usually if I'm too tired when I go to bed. Hang in there.
I think like one person said, focus on a hobby and think positive, also I shout raaaaaah to empower you with strength. IF your obese your more at risk for panick attacks, try to excercise and get to your ideal body weight but excercise slowly if your not in shape. This will help your breathing to deal with anxiety. dont overeat and get enough rest. Also touch like a hug and regular massages will help sooth your body. THink of the activities and fun things in store for you. Stay busy.
Hey bro! You sound just like me and been there and done it through the years, I use to freaked out real bad when i had a panic attack but over the years i was starting to control it. You just gotta keep your brain busy when you're in the panic mode, Trust me bro! There's chemical imbalanced in your brain that doesn't get enough the right cells and it causes panic attacks on some people, Turn the negatives into postives by focusing on your favorite hobby or something that you like to do. Try it!
you can stop the panick attacks yourself! Watch my channel for empowering tools you can use to stop panick, and relax yourself with breathing techniques and calming words
I have found that when I feel an attack coming on, if I touch someone, or they touch me, I feel so reasurred. It often happens to me in the car, so I just touch my daughter's hand, She is usually with me because I have a fear of going shopping by myself, So, touch someone if you can. it helps.
I get them and my fiancee gets them and none of this works lol. The only thing that she says works for her is reminding her that no one has ever died from a panic attack and that they usually last 10-15 mins. I have had them for years and fortunately for me I can feel them onset and prepare myself mentally. The more you get the easier it is sadly.
my girlfriend suffers from panic attacks, the problem is that when it happens i start to panic too, added to this is our dog that panics with us,we are a mad house
Also, no drinking alcohol, drugs, etc. That actually makes it worse (and I am finishing my degree to become an addiction counselor so I guarantee, this is proven). You need to stay hydrated and take care of your physical self, manage the priorities and stress in your life, and also enlist behavior modification techniques. They work! I have not had an attack in several years. Best of luck!
After a physical assault, I began having panic attacks on a regular basis between the age of 32-35. During that time, I learned a few tips to help ease them when they began and eventually to prevent them. During an attack, cooling off, laying down with feet elevated above my head, blowing cold air on myself (stand or lay near a fan/vent), apply a cold wash cloth to face, neck, chest, etc. Hope that helps someone!
@CajunsCheri my couneller says that doing that " its not facing your fears" because many times in the past i have started to feel really hot , and then always throw up after that, so now i am soooo concious about going into a hot room incase i feel awful and getting sick, its not so much the being pysically sick, its just the feeling you get right before if you know what i mean when you fell AWFUL... :(
im worry all over a day thinking im going to die whts happening to me,what, is happening to my body am i have a heart problem,i have chest pain, tightness all over my chest and neck i cant breath leads to panic attack, cold hands and feet,im worry and worry all over my life... im soo sad...i check my blood pressure but it is normal.. my brain told my body to pain .. worry and worry. im scared to die.. im so sensitive... help me please any one can help me... whst shod i doo.. HELP
@Madsblossom hi. send you a reply now coz my panic attack was gone.. then after a month its back again and i cant cope it anymore... what should i do...? i have many symptoms again.. can you please reply.
@reezejelle8 i got healed of panic attacks. i was hospitalized(self admitted) a couple times. it comes to the point where people are afraid of their own flight or fight system more than anything else or their own bodies.
I just had one today and it has been nearly 2 years since my last,it scared the hell out of me it took me an hour to come out of it and after i did all i wanted to do is sleep.
As a person with a generalized anxiety disorder, I must beg to differ. There is no way that I'm allowing someone to stare me down or touch me when I'm having a panic attack - I'm going to do my best to get away from that person as quickly as possible, even if it means giving them a good shove. Expert Village, this time you're wrong...
@partymonstrrrr If you don't reach out for help or are not comfortable getting it, how do you think you will get out of a panic attack when it is brought on by yourself? Would the touch of a doctor or medic make any difference? Would you not allow them to help you? If you assault someone, you'll get yourself in trouble, they would only just be trying to help you, not stare down at you. By the nature of panic attacks, it is your body's response to something you can't handle, help is essential!
I throw up until everything is out of my stomach I shake I feel like I am going to die sometimes it gets so bad I don't ever think it will stop. I only have mine at night I always say this is when the demons come out it helps to talk to someone but, usually when this is occuring everyone is sleeping. It is so hard and I can totally understand what they are all about scary scary If I could make one thing in my life go away this would be it along with my mom never getting cancer again
@kristyg301 Yeah i know what that's like, i had my most recent one last summer. i woke up in the middle of the night shaking and sick pretty much like you; except i felt like i was gonna die and as if i were dreaming. I've only had mine at night also. And i wish your mother the best of luck as well
o.0 why dont we make a social anxiety wepsite that we can only make friends with other people our age who have social anxiety it would be awesome we would understand each other ^^
this is wrong, you shouldnt touch someone without asking while their freaking out. And dont stare into their eyes, your gona make them feel more bizzare. Just let them know youre there, you care and listen even if what they say and talk about is crazy, and dont let them hurt themself if they try.
iv had panic attacks alot and what eleviates mine is to recognise that im having one and then turn on the tv and stop focusing on the panic attack while im having it and i dont know about yall but my panic attacks are realy weerd ill have one becuase i had a dream about a guy walking on his hands for 2 years across the desert they never make any sence and when i wake up the next day im like wtf was i thinking. once i had like a panic attack but instead of fear i felt exilerated like awesomeness.
to continue... ssevere vomiting. I end up at the emergancy room, there my heart rate has been dangerously high. The staff usually begins and IV and start a dose of Phenergan for vomiting and Adivan. They watch for my heart rate to drop, generally by that time I am completely unconscience. If my heart rate returns to normal they send me home with my husband. Panic attacks in rare cases such as mine can be dangerous to your heart, especially if you have other issues. DO NOT IGNORE GETTING HELP
what is one to do that has panic attacks so severe, that causes severely elevated heart rate, vomiting, diarhea, and thoughts of suicide. I have suffered GAD, panic attacks and ocd for 6 years. As a complication to this disease I have developed Agorophobia. There is no meds that can help. It is best to avoid taking anxiety medication on long term basis. One person had it right catch it when you begin to feel a change in your body or mind. If the anxiety pill (Klonopin wafer) as I am prone to
Nothing works in midst of a panic attack... no breathing exercises, happy places, mantras, stretches, whatever.. only way is to prevent them before they start so get drunk or stoned as fuck like me. :(
@Aurelius27x getting stoned and drunk will make it worse in the long run, i stopped drugs and now ive beaten them. last one i had was a couple of months ago, i just got tired of the feeling telling me what to do and i sat through it thinking i don't give a shit about this panic or what everyone in the rooms thinks im just going to go further into the feeling and enjoy it as much as i can. and i did, i felt like i was on ecstacy, felt like a rebirth
@Aurelius27x well that's not healthy either. Alcohol just temporarily disables the feeling of anxiety; weed can trigger it. It seems as though you and 18 other people are looking at alternatives that just numb underlying emotions rather than seeking professional care. Do yourself and your body a favor and try and find a support group or talk therapy; its only a matter of time before the emotions inside get worse and eventually surface. Good luck though, you're not alone.
@Aurelius27x No man i smoke weed too not for a panic attack but i have used it to calm down. once i am breathing a little doing the breathing exercise works but maybe this is because i have someone right next to me who knows all the tricks. everything from getting me to name random objects and describe them to distract me. I think you gotta find your own combination. I do agree some things are just really hard or seem impossible when your having a panic attack. Good luck !
@9livesm That's how it started with me. Now I'm to scared to try any other drug like MDMA and shit because I'm to scared of having a panic attack. Also every time i smoke weed now i get a panic attack.
@scaleop4 I agree... plus if your tolerance to alcohol keeps rising and you need more and more for the same effect you're in trouble. I rarely drink two days in a row... or even twice a week is rare. I'm trying to keep my tolerance as low as possible to need less for the same effect over time and typically limit myself to the situations I know will trigger one. So in between drinking days I practice Tai Chi and Qigong exercises to get by.
@Aurelius27x There is a certain breathing exercise that gives your brain the chance to actually make sense but that still requires a good amount of willpower and most of the time won't work due to the fact you feel like your body isnt fucking working right, so I tend to just get drunk as well -_-
i have suffered from severe panic attacks for about 8 yrs now...I have tried everything. I was xanaxs for a long time and i got sober and quit taking them. when i was on xanax, i had panic attacks about 3 times a week but now i only have them about once a month or once every couple of months, all benzos do is make them worse. i always feel like i am having a heart attack or dying, it scares me to death and mine last for 45mins-2hrs. recognize that you are having one and breathe trough it
Using alcohol to treat anxiety is like borrowing money from a bank with very high interest rate so paying back will be painful.. i ve been there ... i was born with anxiety and depression cause my mom s also born that way ..i was shy i was anxious i was tired .alcohol was my tool to get down my anxiety down and dare to do things and feel happy ...in the end a big panic attack hit me terribly lost my self confidence etc..
it took 5 years for me to get over my panic attacks ...in the beginning you think that u ve serios illness or insane. doctors give u drugs and i think it s wrong and as bad as alcohol ! no dr told me that i was health mentally all they do give stupid antidepressants! my panic attacks gone but not my anxiety it s something that i ve to live with ....you can lower your anxiety by staying away from caffein alcohol and nicotin and having a least stressful!
Hi. I have panic attacks occasionally. Some of them come out of the clear blue... Others are caused by certain situations. Any "confined feeling" situation I am in, I fear of having a panic attack. which results in actually having a panic attack. It's a horrible feeling and you feel like getting up and running for your life. I hope to get rid of these senseless feelings. It's something I have never been able to put my finger on. But it's good to know that I'm not the only one suffering from them
Here's a cure for anxiety, you know what myself and others have in common we all have really high sex drives and we never give our minds time to recover so take about 3 weeks to a month off sex trust me what doctors dnt know is that sex takes a toll on you not only physically but mentally as well so if you want your anxiety gone for ever NO SEX for three weeks to a month. Yes it will be hard to do because sex it addictive but to much of a good thing can and will hurt you no cheating at all so s
OK, I am going to have to make a REAL video about panic attacks. First off, if you have never been to a hospital for it, or in an ambulance, you did not have a severe panic attack, you had an anxiety attack (Still sucks ass).
But most of what I see on here is from people who don't or never had a REAL one! We need a revolution to figure this out once and for all! ~Kev
@unclearless hi mate u sound like u know wat u are on about. i have started have them when the amberlance came it calmed down a bit and they did some test and siad my heart is fine but it scared me a lot and now im scared to even walk to much so if u have any info thank you
I have very serious panic attacks, which have resulted in many hospital visits. They usually happen to me at home in the evenings. I know this is not a solution, or cure, but it does help me. When I feel an attack coming on I head straight for the shower, turn the water on, and sit down. This does not halt the attack, but the water beating down on me distracts my mind from the physical symptoms, primarily my heart beat, and seems to stop the snowball effect. Hope this might help. They sure suck
When I suffer a panic attack it makes me worse if someone try's to help I always prefer to get out of the situation and go take a 5 - 10 minutes breather outside in open air away from everyone. Of coarse everyone's reasons for anxiety could be different, for me certain types of people can trigger me, or sitting in a classroom type environment, or long periods of mental inactivity while waiting for something or someone.
@LittleTerror848 Wow! You sound just like me... Whenever i have panic attacks, I don't let anyone know. Even the thought of telling somebody I'm having a panic attack would make it worse. So, I do what you do. I just take a breather and just let your body naturally calm down. You can't FORCE yourself out of a panic attack...
@bradleycpttd I'm going to the doctors about mine this week, few weeks ago I had to do some shit for the unemployed and it was like a classroom type of place, the room was small and I knew the moment I got there I was not going to be able to cope. I had to sit through a real long talk and introduction and was having a panic attack, I was literately scared for my life that is how bad it got, I had to wake till the guy came towards me with forms to fill out in order to escape, worse time ever...
@LittleTerror848 Yea. I've gone through the exact same thing... I'm actually going to have some counseling this week. I'm not ashamed to say it! With proper therapy and even medication, it can get you through it. And that's what I look forward to the most. I just want it to stop.
I get anxiety attacks so bad, i get them nearly every night. My heart will beat incredibly fast and my chest gets soo tight, so I'll try and slow my breathing down, and when I slow it down I feel like my heart will stop! It drives me crazy, I'll get dizzy, light headed and feel like I'm gonna pass out! I hope this is anxiety attacks (typical paranoia coming form an anxiety sufferer)
@89vdolls Yes that is exactly what it is, I'm no doctor but because I suffer from them I know exactly all the symptoms, heart beats faster, light headed and also pins and needles when it gets really bad. When ever it happens you should go for a walk outside unless it is the outside that is causing it, get away from people, pick a time to explain to people and loved ones your problem to let them know you may just have to go take a breather from time to time.
@89vdolls cont. I know its hard to tell people but it helps once you accept it and then try to understand what is happening to you, people who don't suffer from them may laugh or tell you to chillout and that is the worst thing about it. Also it could be you're drinking to much caffeine containing drinks or smoking to much, I use to get panic attacks after drinking to much coffee in the home, both smoking and coffee amplifie the symptoms so it makes it more likely to happen.
I think that perhaps this video should be given a different title. This is how to help someone who is anxious, NOT someone who is experiencing a panic attack. Panic attacks are much, much more severe than what is depicted in this video. The person having the attack will not be able to "talk about their feelings" or feel comforted by anything the other person might say.
I've been experiencing panic attacks over the last year. Uncontrollable screaming, convulsions, feeling of absolute, sheer panic
this is soooo not what a panic attack is....i never remember how i get curled up in a corner or how i got hurt, i only remember not being able to breathe and feeling like everything is closing in they aren't just scary they are terrifying!!!!
when i was 11 i was just in my bed trying to sleep when i started gasping for breath and my legs started shaking uncontrollably and i seriously thought i was gonna die, but as soon as the ambulance came i was fine.... i've had a history with asthma so i though it was having an asthma attack but my doctor told me it was a panic attack...idk......which one it was....because i've never been through that since that day....
What I need during a panic attack is not to meet the guy presenting this video, he bares marked resemblance to the Texas chain saw massacre masked guy..
If you got an attack feel free to skype me, I'll sit it through it with you. i am through the same shit. Also applies if you just wanna talk about it. I'm almost done with my treatment and got some experience now. I won't judge you. ^^
I was drunk and high and i guess the weed made me more exposed to a panic attack. Since i drink everyday and nothing like that has ever happed until i smoked weed. I felt like if i was going to die and i could hear my heart beat beating faster and faster. The t.v was on and idk it seemed real loud to me. It would also stop for a while and come back. Very scary i ain't never touching weed again.lol
In the last few years a new breakthrough in panic attacks was discovered and reported in an amazing new eBook called “Panic Attack Survival Guide – Your How To Guide To A Panic Free Life”.
It’s amazing, because it covers nearly every bit of information you need or wanted to know about overcoming panic attacks, plus more…

You have never had a panic attack have you?
LandDeathNote 20 hours ago
Like it will never go away - and I can't see myself living a normal life with a normal job. And then i got depressed by that and now i just started on medication. And it just feels like I'm the only one in the hole world that is feeling that way, even though i know I'm not alone.
(Sorry if my english is a little of)
But really - Go talk to somebody, a psychologist or something. It really helps just to get it out!!
EveryPerson13 1 day ago
It's really nice to read all the comments, makes you feel that you're not alone.
I have had panic attacks for a year and a half - but probably most of my life, I just didn't know what it was when i were younger (I'm 20 now).
I know go to a psychologist and have done that for a year. It started to get better at one point but then i started getting the attacks again - and I just feel that all hope is gone when i get the attacks.
EveryPerson13 1 day ago

I stared worrying about multiple things
codfreak19067 3 months ago

Never want this again.
royalsteven 4 months ago
@royalsteven listen, take it from someone who knows..........if you are having panic attacks....stay off cola, coffee and even pot. In some people marijuana increases "self awareness"
inkey2 4 months ago
I already do man! But I am sure my years addiction to sugar and coca cola didn't help! But no more coke for me. Could have had diabetes because of this. I stopped right on time. I try to eat healthy know. Only drink water, pure juice, milk and tea (without theïne). Hyperventialtion is also caused a lot because of phobia and fears. I am just a real tensed person normally, a nervous wreck so to say ahah. I try to work out more to release my built up tension! Do you have panic attacks often?
royalsteven 4 months ago
@royalsteven ___LOL>......COCA-COLA......definately a problem...at one time i was drinking at least a 6 pack a day......I'm sure that didn't help
inkey2 4 months ago

Bad one, EV.

the mind and the body are connected. period. some people can change one thing and mostly heal and most have to work on the physical and mental.

When I'm having a panic attack I don't want to be touched, sometimes I want someone to be there just sitting quietly. This way I can be assured that if something goes wrong someone knows. I really hate to be touched when I'm panicking it feels like I'm being pandered too or looked down on.

BKFF20 7 months ago
I don't want to make everyone go out and do this but 'Psilocybin mushrooms' actually helped me deal with panic attacks. I never wanted to get into other substances other than marijuana but if If I had to chose i wouldve went with shrooms. Anyway I had finally been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to give myself a mental challenge.
BKFF20 7 months ago
I have had quite a few panic attacks and they usually come on out of no where. Fortunately for me, Sometimes I can almost instantly calm down and stop feeling crapp. A relaxing sense of relief.. I warn my girlfriend Im having a panic attack and that i feel crappy, then I basically take my shirt off and get my girlfriend to very lightly rub the tips of her fingers on my back ( mainly the top) to create "goosebumps" or chills.
This is extremely effective for me.

I wish someone would understand what I go through.
nenitalindaaa 7 months ago
@nenitalindaaa I'm sorry you've had to experience this. I'm almost 18 and I've had them since I was 4 but I've probably only had 3 dozen panic attacks my whole life. Like with you, there's never a reason for them. I kind of feel like no one understands mine either because there seems to be so much more to them, mentally at least. It's important that you know that what's happening isn't real. By worrying about it happening, you reinforce the idea that what's happening is inevitable, but it's not
tenaciousviolinist 7 months ago
@nenitalindaaa I understand. I lived in a constant state of panic for years. People say panic attacks only last 15 minutes but that was not my experience. I was literally in constant panic with depersonalization for 3 years, with my heart rate rarely less than 90. I even panicked in my sleep, having night terrors all night long. It became agoraphobia and I locked myself in the room. I used Lucinda Basset's program. People can say what they want about her, but that program saved my life.

mortdepeur13 6 months ago

CajunsCheri 8 months ago
@CajunsCheri my couneller says that doing that " its not facing your fears" because many times in the past i have started to feel really hot , and then always throw up after that, so now i am soooo concious about going into a hot room incase i feel awful and getting sick, its not so much the being pysically sick, its just the feeling you get right before if you know what i mean when you fell AWFUL... :(

As a person with a generalized anxiety disorder, I must beg to differ. There is no way that I'm allowing someone to stare me down or touch me when I'm having a panic attack - I'm going to do my best to get away from that person as quickly as possible, even if it means giving them a good shove. Expert Village, this time you're wrong...
partymonstrrrr 9 months ago 25
@partymonstrrrr Agreed.
00ChristinaMarie 9 months ago
@partymonstrrrr If you don't reach out for help or are not comfortable getting it, how do you think you will get out of a panic attack when it is brought on by yourself? Would the touch of a doctor or medic make any difference? Would you not allow them to help you? If you assault someone, you'll get yourself in trouble, they would only just be trying to help you, not stare down at you. By the nature of panic attacks, it is your body's response to something you can't handle, help is essential!

to continue... ssevere vomiting.

@Aurelius27x Exatcly what I'm gonna do wright now,cause I"m having one.Cheers !

@Aurelius27x SO true.
jayromeromusic 7 months ago
@Aurelius27x well that's not healthy either. Alcohol just temporarily disables the feeling of anxiety; weed can trigger it. It seems as though you and 18 other people are looking at alternatives that just numb underlying emotions rather than seeking professional care. Do yourself and your body a favor and try and find a support group or talk therapy; its only a matter of time before the emotions inside get worse and eventually surface. Good luck though, you're not alone.
poppyseeds91 7 months ago

@Aurelius27x I know drinking helps mine but I don't want to drink all the time. ( don't want to turn into an alcoholic )
scaleop4 5 months ago
@scaleop4 I agree... plus if your tolerance to alcohol keeps rising and you need more and more for the same effect you're in trouble. I rarely drink two days in a row... or even twice a week is rare. I'm trying to keep my tolerance as low as possible to need less for the same effect over time and typically limit myself to the situations I know will trigger one. So in between drinking days I practice Tai Chi and Qigong exercises to get by.
Aurelius27x 5 months ago
@Aurelius27x when I drink and get drunk I'm fine chatty, but yet when I'm not drunk I'm not chatty and fine
the fact it I hate my anxiety and it stops me doing the thing I want to do.

@scaleop4 I'm right there with you, buddy. Nothing ruins lives like debilitating anxiety disorders.
Aurelius27x 5 months ago
@Aurelius27x yea I know it sucks pretty bad.
scaleop4 5 months ago

I'm fourteen and just started having panic attacks. It scares the crap out of me, because I don't know how to stop it.

What is the cause of these attacks? Could it be a change in life or age? I just turned 24 and am going through it.

Using alcohol to treat anxiety is like borrowing money from a bank with very high interest rate so paying back will be painful.. i ve been there ... i was born with anxiety and depression cause my mom s also born that way ..i was shy i was anxious i was tired .alcohol was my tool to get down my anxiety down and dare to do things and feel happy ...in the end a big panic attack hit me terribly lost my self confidence etc..
maxikedi 10 months ago
it took 5 years for me to get over my panic attacks ...in the beginning you think that u ve serios illness or insane. doctors give u drugs and i think it s wrong and as bad as alcohol ! no dr told me that i was health mentally all they do give stupid antidepressants! my panic attacks gone but not my anxiety it s something that i ve to live with ....you can lower your anxiety by staying away from caffein alcohol and nicotin and having a least stressful!
maxikedi 10 months ago
But it's good to know that I'm not the only one suffering from them
bradleycpttd 10 months ago

~Kev

They sure suck
skipjack73 11 months ago
When I suffer a panic attack it makes me worse if someone try's to help I always prefer to get out of the situation and go take a 5 - 10 minutes breather outside in open air away from everyone. Of coarse everyone's reasons for anxiety could be different, for me certain types of people can trigger me, or sitting in a classroom type environment, or long periods of mental inactivity while waiting for something or someone.
LittleTerror848 11 months ago
@LittleTerror848 Wow! You sound just like me... Whenever i have panic attacks, I don't let anyone know. Even the thought of telling somebody I'm having a panic attack would make it worse. So, I do what you do. I just take a breather and just let your body naturally calm down. You can't FORCE yourself out of a panic attack...
bradleycpttd 10 months ago
@bradleycpttd I'm going to the doctors about mine this week, few weeks ago I had to do some shit for the unemployed and it was like a classroom type of place, the room was small and I knew the moment I got there I was not going to be able to cope. I had to sit through a real long talk and introduction and was having a panic attack, I was literately scared for my life that is how bad it got, I had to wake till the guy came towards me with forms to fill out in order to escape, worse time ever...
LittleTerror848 10 months ago
@LittleTerror848 Yea. I've gone through the exact same thing... I'm actually going to have some counseling this week. I'm not ashamed to say it! With proper therapy and even medication, it can get you through it. And that's what I look forward to the most. I just want it to stop.
bradleycpttd 10 months ago
I get anxiety attacks so bad, i get them nearly every night. My heart will beat incredibly fast and my chest gets soo tight, so I'll try and slow my breathing down, and when I slow it down I feel like my heart will stop! It drives me crazy, I'll get dizzy, light headed and feel like I'm gonna pass out! I hope this is anxiety attacks (typical paranoia coming form an anxiety sufferer)
89vdolls 11 months ago
@89vdolls get some anti-anxiety pills !
Zeskents 11 months ago
@89vdolls Yes that is exactly what it is, I'm no doctor but because I suffer from them I know exactly all the symptoms, heart beats faster, light headed and also pins and needles when it gets really bad. When ever it happens you should go for a walk outside unless it is the outside that is causing it, get away from people, pick a time to explain to people and loved ones your problem to let them know you may just have to go take a breather from time to time.
LittleTerror848 10 months ago
