Lets see..from what heard. The Avengers will consist of Iron Man (Downy Jr), Captain America (Evans), Thor (Hemsworth), Giant Man aka Ant Man (TBA), Wasp (TBA) and possibly Hulk (Norton)

Im sure they'll have Hulk in it because of the ending of the Incredible Hulk plus Hulk was a founding member (along with Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp)

in the 'Ultimate' era of the Marvel universe, everyone got reinvented and they just happened to make him black because it was the artist's choice.

Ultimate Wolverine was made into a Canadian. It's all about artist's choice, how the character's background and design will fit in a current context, and about making everything canon and all the comics and characters mesh together.

Old Nick Fury was in WW2 and was modelled after james bond. He would be ancient now. New Nick Fury fought in Kosovo.

The reason why they are going with Sam Jackson is because they are using the Ultimate Marvel universe. Ultimate Marvel is basically a re-imagining of the mainstream universe.
