I listened to Howard Zinn on CBC (yes CBC) I think it was Gian Gomeshi (so sorry for the spelling) it was a long time ago but I was so entralled by the objectivity and observation of Howard. And now listening to this I am again enthralled. I expect nothing but articulate and tasteful retorts. No swearing! You'll just prove your not interested or engaged.

Hey Negaitive Halo, I appreciate your concerns around the financial crises we are in, and the HUGE complexity thereof, but how deeply could she have delved into this? Did you want her to discuss OTC derivatives? The precepts and ludicrousnes of mark to market accounting and Enron?

Bear in mind, most Americans have trouble understanding the indebtedness our country has to China due to village-idiot bush and his borrowing. Maybe she's trying to speak to the lay-people?

Do u understand that she is a writer and the interview is about her work and certain elements that she has focused on in the way of debt. If you want to hear about the debt issue overall than watch CNN if you think you will learn something there. Truly your comment reflects the most pitiful of ignorant mentality. Her mentioning of religion and astrology is because her works often focus on how religious beliefs have shaped and molded politics and patriarchal dominance. Research before commenting

I bought the Massey Lectures AND bought the paperback and I have to say, WITHOUT a DOUBT they are the best, absolute best, thing I have heard/ read in the past year. May I recommend that people listen to a series of things to get a GREAT picture of what Margaret Atwood is trying to say,

1) The series of lectures on YouTube, THE MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO YOU'LL EVER SEE. An account of exponential population growth on the planet.
