The guitar is a modern replica of the famous 19 C luthier from Vienna named Stauffer

Both Guiiani and Paganini both played his guitars.

This 19 C music was meant to be played and heard on this type of instrument

I saw him perform in St. Louis a few years ago and was quite impressed. One usually gets the feeling that even the greatest classical guitarists like John Williams and Pepe Romero are doing battle with the instrument, even though they win. The guitar simply seems to be an extension of Pavel's body.

Pavel Steidl is amazing not only because of his technical capabilities. He introduces hundreds of ornaments to pieces that are ridicously simple and makes this incredible masterpieces!!! Bravo, maestro!

My favourite guitarist! I've seen Pavel 3 times now. The first was in Darwin, Australia in 2002. Nobody knew who he was but from the first note to the last, between the deafening applause, you could hear a pin drop. At the conclusion the entire audience stood up as one without hesitation in the most genuinely enthusiastic standing ovation I have seen. What a profound musician and what a showman!!!
