My snakes started hatching yesterday and today we found a beautiful albino female curled up in our incubator :)

So far she's the only 'odd' colored one because the four/five other that have popped their heads out look like daddy.

@Nidolord777 Thank you! Im glad someone pointed that out! To anyone watching this video: Never do anything to try to force a hatchling out of their egg. They HAVE TO be allowed to stay there for as long as they want to! If they poke their heads out and then sit there like that for 2 days, then let them do that! It is extremely dangerous to make them come out before they are ready...not to mention that to scare them at all during their first foray out into the world is just plain cruel.

My eggs just started to hatch. The first one to poke his nose out has been there for over a day. Then this morning I woke up to 3 more poking their noses out, two more albinos and one regular color corn snake. So cool. She layed 25 eggs! Also, ironically the day the first one hatched, the mom corn snake layed 8 more eggs!? Without a male in sight for months. Could they be fertile? Do corn snakes stay fertile like chickens do or some other animals? Thanks!

@swiss120 i have had a ball python lay eggs with no male too...all of the eggs were infertile tho...but snakes can hold sperm and use it later so candle them and see if they r fertile

you really shouldn't touch the snakes to make them come out of the shell.. let them come out at there own pace.. why startle an animal in there first moments of life. its normal for them to take up to 3 days to come out and in some cases that time is to absorb the rest of the yolk in the egg.

@sarahpiro99 I have tons of corns hatch all the time, and as I agree that it's best to let them come out at their own pace touching it to coax it out isn't going to hurt anything.

Also they do come out of their egg with the yolk sack attached. It doesn't come off as they leave the egg. As long as their lungs are developed their protective membrane has broken, and they're breathing on their own they can safely leave their egg without any problem.

Corn Snakes will only bite if extremely intimidated or if you smell of food.

They are extremely docile, and my two have never bit me either :D

definitely. i got one today. fairly docile and make great pets on the cheap, however mine has bitten me twice. neither time hurt, but when he nipped me i was shocked and instinctively flung my arm out. what im saying is dont be afraid to get bitten like i was, it really doesnt hurt. its like sandpaper as the snakes teeth are tiny. they will only do this when they are getting used to your smell and after they wont see you as a threat provided your gentle to them. i wish someone had told me this.
