if the whole word was vegan that unfortunately wouldn't work either because neither is sustainable, the only solution is to kill about 5 billion people

If the whole world were vegan we'd have plenty enough room to grow food for everyone and there would be no people starving in 3rd world countries. Also, all of the land that has been held up for livestock could be released and a lot of that could go back to wilderness. Also, vegans are conscious about the environment and we don't have 5 and 6 children.

Growing crops to feed livestock so we can kill and eat them is incredibly inefficient and a waste of resources, that's why the UN officially recommended people cut back on animal products to help solve the world hunger crisis. It takes 2500 gallons of water, 12 pounds of grain, 35 pounds of topsoil and the energy equivalent of one gallon of gasoline to produce one pound of feedlot beef.
Just one point - I think at the point where someone says the animal is still alive, that it isn't - I think that it is dead, even though it is moving. I think that because of how it was explained in footage of a 'best practice' slaughter house in the UK that I have seen.

I had a Vegan Gym Teacher that showed us what they do to Baby Chicks, I was maybe 15/16, & there were some of my school mates that were eating MCD's, & some continued to do so. What I remember from the experience, was Anger & Hate directed at us from this individual, I never blinked an eye (until years later). This same Teacher asked me on his first day if the pants I was wearing were wool. He was angry than too. They were cotton. Irony than, I think I was eating a Vegetarian diet

I'm sorry but I completely, completely disagree. Eating a hamburger is not horrific, nor will it damage the innocence of a child. Watching a cow being brutally slaughtered by despicable people is something that NOBODY SHOULD EVER HAVE TO SEE, least of all someone young enough to be scarred by it. There are ways of educating people without risking damaging them psychologically.
It's not the kids fault when they're unaware of the origin of their food. After they see a video like this, then it is their fault. @gabbi123 The dairy industry as you will learn, is actually, the meat industry. That milk cows create, is not people but for baby cows. We are the only species that drinks, another species milk. Milk = a cocktail of over 20 chemicals( antibiotics, painkillers and hormones) blood, skin cells and puss. Those baby cows are murdered within 72 hours of being born so you can drink their milk. Milk is an industry to make money only. Dairy is slavery, murder and extreme cruelty.

@hoquester The world would not turn Vegan overnight just like racism or sexism didnt change over night. The answer to the real problems that face the future of the human race (like obesity, climate change, disease, rising poverty) is a shift in thinking towards a plant based vegan diet.

@DetractMedia - Fair point, I agree with you on some ponts, a long term change to everybody being vegan is possible and does has lots of positive aspects, but you must agree there are also downsides.. for example... many indigenous people need meat to survive, many cultures depend on animals for their way of life and they have the deepest respect for the welfare of animals, animal cruelty etc within the meat industry is more of a western thing than a global attitude.

@Vampy82 Why is your child not Vegan? A well balanced Vegan diet is perfect for kids. A Vegetarian consumes dairy & eggs, both are violent & oppressive. Male chicks are crushed or gassed, hens lay until they are exhausted and then end up in the slaugterhouse. The dairy industry is full of pain & suffering: Calves are ripped from their mothers within days of being born, packed into veal crates so their muscles deteriorate and then slaugtered. Dairy cows are milked to exhaustion then slaughtered.

@Vampy82 Check out the vegan website for health tips for babies and young children. If followed correctly there is no reason why any baby will not thrive on a vegan diet. You wouldn't believe what they put in other species milk to make it taste ok and look presentable!

If the whole world were vegan we'd have plenty enough room to grow food for everyone and there would be no people starving in 3rd world countries. Also, all of the land that has been held up for livestock could be released and a lot of that could go back to wilderness. Growing crops to feed livestock so we can kill and eat them is incredibly inefficient and a waste of resources, that's why the UN officially recommended people cut back on animal products to help solve the world hunger crisis. It takes 2500 gallons of water, 12 pounds of grain, 35 pounds of topsoil and the energy equivalent of one gallon of gasoline to produce one pound of feedlot beef.

I had a Vegan Gym Teacher that showed us what they do to Baby Chicks, I was maybe 15/16, & there were some of my school mates that were eating MCD's, & some continued to do so. What I remember from the experience, was Anger & Hate directed at us from this individual, I never blinked an eye (until years later). This same Teacher asked me on his first day if the pants I was wearing were wool. He was angry than too. They were cotton. Irony than, I think I was eating a Vegetarian diet

Briliant idea. It is a terrible crime to be keeping the truth from children. It's inspiring to see that at this age, just by showing them this footage (which is pretty mild in comparison to how most animals die in slaugherhouses) that they can then make an ethical choice. The first group was way too young for the blood show. They tell their parents what they seen and why they don't want to eat their dinner. Fact, if everybody went vegan, the global econmy would collapse and we would all be fucked, terrible treatment of animals but not eating meat isn't the answer answer, stamping out corruption and heavily regulating the industry is whats needed.

@hoquester The world would not turn Vegan overnight just like racism or sexism didnt change over night. The answer to the real problems that face the future of the human race (like obesity, climate change, disease, rising poverty) is a shift in thinking towards a plant based vegan diet.
Regulations within the industry do not work they just lend a hand towards people being less conscious of what they are really buying into. We do not need animal products to thrive - Go Vegan

@DetractMedia - Fair point, I agree with you on some ponts, a long term change to everybody being vegan is possible and does has lots of positive aspects, but you must agree there are also downsides.. for example... many indigenous people need meat to survive, many cultures depend on animals for their way of life and they have the deepest respect for the welfare of animals, animal cruelty etc within the meat industry is more of a western thing than a global attitude.

@hoquester That is crazy! If we didn't change because one group of people will not then we would still be back in a time when certain people didnt have rights & we exploited them. A progressive society is one that leads by example & pursues justice for the innocent.
There are many situations where animals have given man a helping hand so why do we abuse them so much? This was the same mental block people had over slavery. Machinery could replace a lot of what we take from animals.

@DetractMedia - Unless we actually sit down and have a very long discussion we won't fully understand each others point of view, this type of interaction is called "intellectual chest beating", you and I are both going to hold to our own beliefs and justify our arguements based on our personal definition of what the truth and facts are. I love your passion and have no issue with your opinions, but from my perspective the word abuse and murder in reference to killing animals for meat is extreme.

@FruitForLifeCo - No, I'm suggesting that the idea of a vegan world is not realistic, it's a nice idea, but it would never work logistically. If you want to be a vegan, fine, freddom of speech etc... yeah, I love it, but you know it's never gonna happen, so rather than using videos of animal slaughter, (propoganda) use education, it's the only proven way to make a lasting change, education education education, videos like this just annoy people.

A vegan world is coming and coming on quick. It's been the norm for over 99% of human existence and will be again.
Just by comments alone, you can see your incongruence. This video is motivating people and inspiring people to further the peaceful cause at any cost. The truth must be heard, seen, and felt. Truth does not and will not die away, but come again to shine in the glory of the day!

I very much doubt it, please give me very specific details of where you got this figure from, I have a feeling that you made this figure up because the actual truth doesn't match itself with your beliefs, correct me if I'm wrong but across the globe you can find caves with pre-historic pictures and carvings of men hunting animals that are thousands of years old. Seriously, if you want to be vegan.. cool... no big deal, just don't make stuff up to support your cause.

@hoquester Why wouldn't it work logistically? 'Logistically' animal production is a nightmare! Its causing 18% of the planets Co2 omissions (thats more than all transport including aeroplanes put together)
You certainly can call this approach 'education' ; that day in McShit those kids learnt that they have been lied too by a huge multinational cooperation,their parents,their teachers and their nursery pop up books. That footage is reality and the truth, what better education is there? Go Vegan

@Vampy82 Why is your child not Vegan? A well balanced Vegan diet is perfect for kids. A Vegetarian consumes dairy & eggs, both are violent & oppressive. Male chicks are crushed or gassed, hens lay until they are exhausted and then end up in the slaugterhouse. The dairy industry is full of pain & suffering: Calves are ripped from their mothers within days of being born, packed into veal crates so their muscles deteriorate and then slaugtered. Dairy cows are milked to exhaustion then slaughtered.

@DetractMedia Because i am raising my child not alone. My husband has also a word to say. And at the time she was born i was vegetarian. I know this all. But she still needs milk. Sojamilk is not good in this age. But when this age is over, maybe.

@Vampy82 Check out the vegan website for health tips for babies and young children. If followed correctly there is no reason why any baby will not thrive on a vegan diet. You wouldn't believe what they put in other species milk to make it taste ok and look presentable!
Please reconsider your childs diet, there is absolutely no reason to be buying into the exploitation of animals for your child to thriv
