@hihellohowareyou1000 Carlin is God. He's the only person I'd have been ultimately happy with electing President of the United States. In this case it would have been for life, and I'd probably even let him be King.
@BBQFanNo1 Andrew Dice Clay? a misogynist and a disgrace to thinking men-on Facebook lists his profession as "cream filler at the Milf doughnut store"
It's hard to believe a man as intelligent as lenny bruce would accidentally kill himself. Especially after he stopped doing comedy and started explaining his court cases on stage. Exposing how ignorant and corrupt the legal system really was. I've always wondered if it was truly an accident or just a murder set up to look like accidental suicide...
Lenny Bruce began the intellectual and social 'comedic discussion'.
Even if you don't find him funny, his influence was VITAL.
Before him were pratfalls, blackface, and stunts.
After him came Pryor, Belushi, SNL, Hicks, Southpark, Leary, Maher, Silverman, Williams, Black, Chapelle, Monty Python, Cheech and Chong, Rock, Miller, Carson, Franken, Izzard and the grandmaster George Carlin.
Lenny was waaaay ahead of his time. He perished attempting to describe the opression of the spoken word in a comedic sense. Todays raunchy comics owe a great deal to him. lenny pushed the boundries surrounding the first amendment to the point of going broke, losing his right to perform, and getting hooked on smack.
I think I can understand the intentions of the actor and his style. Unfortunately we have reached a time "modern" where the comedy is intimately connected with the business sense and this is sold as a product rather than with a true sense of humor, good video friend, thx.
Lenny was fabulous-his 1963 book "How to Talk Dirty and Influence People" is a must for a fan.

"I've lost a friend, and I don't know why
But never again will we get together to die
And why? after every 'last shot', was there always another?
Why, after all you hadn't got, did you leave your life to your mother
And Honey Harlowe, the singer burlesque queen
How did she know you needed Morphine?
Why didn't you listen to the warning words of your friends when they told you so?
I know you couldn't listen to people talk about what they didn't know."
A genius and innovator.Thanks all...

Lenny Bruce changed EVERYTHING.
